Patsy's started from out as a food truck, now to cute little shop. I met and spoke to Marisa, she is super friendly and got to learn more about Patsy's Food. The cute photo is Grandma Patsy's her food, sauces legacy ,continues on here at Patsy's Food. The menu is very simple, ( about 5-6 items) & the special of the day. This way the cook which is Marisa's husband can focus on those dishes! I wanted to know what's popular and Marisa mentioned in this order: chicken tempura, chicken katsu & the donburi. I'm sure all of them are all popular! Since I already have some other foods that I picked up along the way and wanted to try the signature chicken tempura bites, I got a plate of that with all rice, no sides and got a bottle of the spicy sauce. I can't wait to use that! We ate the food at the airport and I loved it, the tempura batter is so soft, not as crispy since we didn't eat it right away and taste so unique. I never had tempura with chicken, ever. I loved dipping the chicken tempura in that sauce, so yummy! ( dip, eat with rice, repeat. repeat..) I can't wait to go back for more next visit and I need to try the donburi and rest of the menu items . Did you know you can get an entire bucket of tempura chicken, $40.?! I only waited maybe less than 10 minutes after ordering. A lot of people take out since there's a few irritating flies and a couple small tables and chairs. The aunty that works there was so sweet and got me hoisin sauce and black pepper and told me to scoot my small table and chair to eat in the shade. I ordered a Mango Boba drink which reminded me of Guri Guri to be honest. (If you're visiting Maui and haven't had Guri Guri, go get yourself some asap!) I loved it. I usually get Honeydew but Mango was just as good! The Chicken Pho was delicious! They gave me a couple slices of jalapeños, bean sprouts, a small lemon wedge and a lot of Thai basil. I loved that yummy comforting broth with slices of white onions, green onions and shredded chicken. Perfect for Maui "winter weather" which is usually 60's-70's lol. If you're looking for a yummy Bahn Mi, I recommend the Chicken (or Tofu) Lemongrass sandwich on Crispy French bread or the Vermicelli noodles with Pork and Imperial Rolls. The line was pretty long but it moved fast. There are several friendly ladies behind the counter that quickly served up your plate. Most of the entrees had signs on them. They have such a nice spread to choose from. Prices are reasonable & they don't skimp on the quantity. I had a 2-entree plate for $15.99. 1 entree is $10.99, 3-entree is $19.99. All plates come with rice or pancit, or you can do half & half. I got the half & half with pork adobo & teriyaki chicken. The plate was yummy The pancit had 2 different noodles, the clear & the regular pancit noodles. There was an ample amount of veggies and shiitake mushrooms. The pork adobo had good flavor & well seasoned. Not too many fatty pieces & very tender. It didn't have as much as a vinergry taste but still was good. The teriyaki chicken was well flavored with a little sweetness, not overly dry, tasty as well. There was so much food, it's definitely a shareable plate or leftovers for a couple of days. Wow. My husband missed out as he waited in the car, he could have grab all his favorites Filipino goods! What I like about Paradise Supermart is the items are organized, there are tons of products. What I don't like is most items has no prices or sign, even the produce. It will have to be a surprise or ask at the register. The prices are on high side but hey we need Filipino goods no matter the cost. The huge bag of wing bean caught my eyes, never seen them grown so huge before, no prices, when I ask the staff, it was $6.99! Pricey, on Oahu they cost $2-$3 per bag. The hot food selection, wow! This is my favorites! So many selections to choose from and even desserts galore! I got the 1 entree plate to try $9.99, for 2 items = $14.99, the difference in entree choices is $5. kinda steep. I got the bulgogi veggie kimbap and asked to make it fire spicy and the owner understood the assignment. She added her own special pepper sauce and with the veggies and daikon and meat -- chefs kiss.
