Found this spot when my family were going to be in Menlo Park. My kid was craving orange rice so I was glad to find Mama Cocos. Plus there was an outdoor kids area and I was definitely the best mom at that moment when she saw it. It was a nice day to sit outside and my husband and I loved the murals. I saw a video of food recommendations and we had to try the ceviche. It was more like a shrimp cocktail minus the juice. We loved it, especially my toddler. She got some tacos and extra rice. I got the mole enchiladas. The black beans were so tasty. The whole plate was delicious. My husband got a torta with al pastor. It was not what he was expecting but he still ate the whole plate. He'll probably try asada when we come back. Service was great. We were tbe only ones outside but staff still cane regularly to check on us. Definitely a spot to check out with your family.

I was here a week after my previous visit. Boy, it was disappointing.. Service: 1/5 the young lady at the counter projected a really weird vibe, as if she was there to walk around in a beauty pageant, not to help customers with their orders. She barely responded to questions as if words cost money. Anyways, when I placed my order, instead of trying to understand what I asked for, she charged me for a Jalapeños salsa on the side. I'm someone who can't eat or tolerate very spicy food. So it felt absurd to get charged for a jalapeño salsa that I wouldn't eat. I told them that I was here couple days ago and the guy who was here gave me two salsas on the side(like every other Spanish restaurant), I just want those. And she and another lady told me, anything besides burrito is just us being generous, in a tone, that sounded like we are doing you a favor. I just paid for a burrito, so it felt bizarre. Food: 2/5 the burrito was cooked and the guy in the kitchen kept it at the counter. The way the chef kept it on the internal order counter was also weird, it rolled from one side of the counter to the other. And then it just stayed there for 3-4 mins, even though both ladies were free, they were not attending to other customers. As she was packing, that's when I realized that they were not going to add any salsa but a lot of chips. How was I going to eat those dry chips without any salsa. So absurd. So, I reminded them to give me the same two salsa like a few days ago. This is when they told me about them being generous. And I was taken aback and a bit annoyed by it. They gave me box and when I opened it at home, I realized they had taken out all the complimentary chips that they give out of generosity and gave me one cup of green salsa but no red salsa.. Ambiance: 3/4 it was fine but I am never going back again

I no longer care what ppl on yelp think. But I came here to say that all the bad reviews I cannot stand behind. The aesthetic of this restaurant is beautiful. It is clean, well taken care of and the food was quality and delicious. I had one of the best Mexican meals here that I've probably had in my life time. Different strokes for different folks. There's a reason this place is pretty busy each time I drive by ! Love it and this will be a regular spot for me now !

Superb customer service from Nico here, really friendly people, warm and inviting with a colorful festive interior, and stunning wall murals done by a local artist. They have a patio in the back, beautifully decorated and partially covered, the perfect spot for a meal. We got a veggie burrito to go, I specified spinach tortilla with pinto beans and cheese. Not only did it have all of that plus rice and pico de gallo, it also comes stuffed with fresh sautéed vegetable like green zucchini. Super fresh and yummy, with a reasonable price for a hefty burrito.

The food is delicious and authentic. The service is attentive and friendly. The red has murals on the walls that are very well done. We have been here a few times and have never been disappointed in the food or drinks.

Ordered DoorDash from here today. Tortilla Soup bowl was ok, bit on the salty side and the portion was small. The Pastel Azteca was stale and hard, inedible. I would rather them have told me they didn't have it than send me something I couldn't even eat. First time getting food from here and highly disappointed! Won't be back.

Met up family here for lunch and it was perfect because my 2 kids were entertained the whole time by the play kitchen they had and also baby toys! Very cool that they have the space to do this in the back patio. The food was good and the service was good. The only odd thing was the michelada came in a glass that wasn't big enough for the whole beer so the mixture isn't right when you add more beer to it after? Not a big thing. Just grateful for a space that's great for toddlers! It's also close to Saint franks coffee and the Caltrain station. Everything was walkable!

It's about five minutes from downtown and has outdoor seating too. Walking in feels like stepping into a taqueria in Jalisco, with good music playing and so many things to choose from on the menu. I love that they serve pozole all day, even on weekdays. My usual order is a Modelo Especial preparada, a ceviche de camarón tostada, and a crispy carnitas taco. Sometimes I add a bowl of pozole because I just can't decide, lol! I've also tried the huevos rancheros, chicken quesadilla, and spicy aguachile, and everything I've had has been full of flavor. The food and lively atmosphere and friendly service is what keeps me coming back. If you're in Redwood City and craving Mexican food, I definitely recommend giving Los Gallos a try!

The vibe is incredibly laid-back and casual, so you can show up in whatever you're wearing and feel right at home. A major highlight is the complimentary nacho and salsa bar! It's such a nice, welcoming touch to start the meal. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp cocktail or "coctel de camarón" ($22) and my boyfriend went for the wet red burrito ($16). The portions were genuinely massive, so we ended up needing to-go boxes despite how delicious everything was. We also shared a Cadillac margarita during happy hour for about $11; it was easily one of the best I've ever had, even topping the ones at Mama Coco's. It was huge and such a steal for the price. The service was truly amazing from start to finish. We decided to sit outside, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, bringing our food out to the patio without us having to ask. With our total coming to $43.39 including tip (not including margarita), it's a fantastic value for the amount of food and quality of drinks you get. This was actually my second time here specifically for the margaritas, and I'll definitely be back again soon.

My original dish of choice was the Red Snapper Al Mojo de Ajo. But many years ago I made the switch to Enchiladas de Mariscos. I have tried the Mole Poblano and fajitas. I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo. We always get Quesadilla de Camaron as a starter. The quesadilla comes with a side of guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, and diced mango for your dipping pleasure. A side order of chips comes with an addictive salsa verde. The restaurant is not without its challenges. It is a small space and often only has one server. The two servers, Tammy and Sonia, have been there forever and are very loyal to their customers. If you are looking for a place with constant stimulation, the latest and greatest in restaurant decor, this isn't the place for you. I come back over and over for the flavors I can't resist.

Taking way one star just because the inside is pretty awkward to navigate (you have to squeeze between tables), and I do wish they offered margaritas haha. Definitely a fancy Mexican restaurant, though not overly upscale. You'll want to dress up a bit, as it's not the kind of place where casual wear is the norm. While looking at the menu, we learned an interesting piece of history: Celia's has been around since the 1960s, but it didn't start as a Mexican restaurant! It originally served American food, but the Mexican dishes became so popular that they eventually transitioned to an exclusively Mexican menu. I found that really fascinating. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated at a table for two. Without even asking, a server brought over a generous basket of chips and salsa, along with water. It was a nice touch, and we appreciated the prompt service. My partner ordered the green enchiladas, and I opted for the taco salad bowl. Oh my goodness, both dishes were absolutely delicious! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and my taco salad was so refreshing. The service throughout our meal was incredible. The prices were a bit on the higher side; for our two main dishes and two margaritas (which were reasonably priced at about $12 each), the total bill came to $72 before tip. While it's not a budget-friendly option, I'd say it's worth it for the overall experience and the quality of the food. I would definitely come back again!
