Build your own Crunchwrap and build your own nachos in the back
YJ L.

Been here multiple times after the first review and have brought so many different friends, and they all love knowing that they can personalize their food item of their choice! Workers are nice, they give water at the front, and I still get discounts every week for an entree! Still a favorite place of mine to go :)

Crunch Wrap (Build Your Own)
Scotty L.

build your own Crunchwrap! They also offer tacos, burritos, and other menu items with a happy hour from 3-6pm. Ingredients are fresh and well made - I love chipotle, but this was definitely a step up with quality. Want to add lime juice? They freshly squeeze up to a whole lime for you or you can ask for it on the side. Want extra spicy salsa? They have a wide variety you can try. Unfortunately the location can make it easy to miss, but the food and the staff are very friendly. Restaurant has extremely bright white fluorescent lights that kind of make it feel like you're filming a reality TV show or you're at a hospital cafeteria - the place could really bring a friendlier atmosphere with some softer lighting and some additional wall decor (or wall paintings?). Overall a great experience dining here and I will definitely come again!

Al pastor crunch wrap

It has been well over a year since I have picked up lunch or dinner from here. The previous time I picked up a bowl, the meat was under seasoned. I opted for an al pastor crunch wrap. While the portion size was decent, I felt the meat ratio could have been better. I ate it fairly quickly after pickup and it was not crunchy. I prefer a crunchier texture and it was more on the soggier side. I also got an order of mini churros, which were ok. Their mini churros have filling, which I don't prefer. Service was fine and the restaurant was clean with a lot of parking out front.

Bowl and Tostada Bowl

I mean if there is one thing I can't resist is a cute place and this is one of them. Walking in, we were greeted by friendly staff, it was bright, inviting, clean and decorated with simple, cute artwork. You have the option of choosing between a bowl/salad, burrito, quesadilla, nachos, tacos or a crunch wrap as an entree. I personally choose the bowl with cilantro rice, carne asada, pinto beans, grilled corn, lettuce, grilled pineapple (now this ingredient made me sooooo happy to see!!!), monterey jack cheese, queso fresco, cilantro, tomatillo sauce, crema and chipotle mayo. As I went down the line and choosing my essential toppings for my bowl, I noticed that staff took great care in placing it in the bowl, but what I ended up not liking is that all of the ingredients were placed side by side. So I had my rice, next to my beans, etc...instead of stacking them in layers one on top of the other. Aestehically sure it looked good, but as I was eating my bowl, all my pineapples were on one side, beans on the other. Sure, it may seem like not a big deal to just mix it yourself, but when the bowl is filled to the top, it makes it hard to get equal taste portions of every ingredient with every bite. Everything tasted fresh. I really enjoyed the pineapple, I mean how many establishments can say that they have that as an option?? Maybe unless the restaurant has el pastor and even then.... I was surprised that for the long period of time that we were there eating and hanging out, no one else dined in. People were taking their food to go. Parking is easy and convenient, Guapas is next to Safeway. They do have a happy hour, but its only for alcohol from 3 to 6 pm. Would I come back again? Yes! I'm thinking that next time, it will be a must to order their churros since its stated that they are made in house.

This place I went to on a whim. I loved the festive atmosphere and the food was delicious! Very keto friendly. The service was very welcoming as well.

Chicken quesadilla

Was craving Mexican food and was excited to find this place since there aren't too many Mexican restaurants in the Menlo Park/Palo Alto area compared to the South Bay. I didn't find the menu/food as authentic as many other spots in San Jose, but still enjoyed my meal and thought it was fairly good value. I got the kids meal chicken quesadilla and found it to be more than enough food. The regular quesadilla was absolutely massive and packed to the brim with fillings! They have plenty of clean, spacious indoor seating to enjoy your meal and the restaurant is located in a shopping plaza with lots of parking.

This place is a great concept and another great choice for lunch! It's way better than Chipotle especially with the amount of options you can choose from. The ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. I ordered their Crunchwrap with cilantro rice, pollo asado, refried beans, and habanero sauce. The Crunchwrap's are huge and feel like they weigh 1.5lbs. It's pretty dense and will be sure to get you full. The food items are pretty pricey at about $15 on average but the portions are big and reasonable. The place itself has plenty of seating with a bar in the back, colorful and exotic paintings. I'd love to come back again for a quesadilla and a beer! I'd also like to try the churro fries; I feel like these would be legit!

This is horrible! Went in for a carnitas burrito. Didn't choose the meat because they have it in a water bath. Once I seen that I tried something different. So I asked to try the pastor.... Salty, over seasoned. Hard pass Okay finally went with the pollo asado, no way grilled chicken can be bad right? Oh was I wrong. I will never be visiting this place again.

This place has great portions, but they messed up a few things on the delivery order. I gotta build your own burrito bowl and the steak tasted really nice, but it didn't have very much flavor overall even though it was this massive portion. I'd be willing to try things in the future, but I probably won't be getting the burrito again cause it's a lot of rice. Fairly yummy, but nothing amazing.

Crunchwrap Crunch Wrap (Build Your Own) . $14.95

A good FF Mexican place that is inspired from chipotle and taco bell .you get the BYO options as well as some taco bell favorites like the crunchwrap . Pretty cost effective and like that they have the plant based impossible meat option . Hope to see some other vegan or vegetarian protein options as well ,such as just tofu

This was the best toast bowl I've ever eaten. I highly recommend it. The steak was delicious and the pollo asado was amazing. The place is very clean. Very friendly employee. La comida aquí está buenisima y muy limpio el lugar.

While in this part of the Bay Area recently, we wanted to get something to eat besides Asian food. A search for new Mexican restaurants yielded Guapas Mexican Grill. Ironically, it appears that an Elite Week at this Menlo Park location just started as part of a 'Fall into Wellness' event series for those in the Yelp Peninsula community. The store was modern with well-spaced apart seating in the dining area. The menu concept was similar to Chipotle's with a build-your-own concept. The vehicle could be a bowl, burrito, taco trio, quesadilla, nachos, or crunch wrap. All of them were priced the same at $14.95. A choice from three types of rice or a lettuce mix could be the base. Seven kinds of protein were offered. Up to three salsas could be selected out of the eight listed. I chose a Taco Trio for my meal. Three corn tortillas were warmed up on a circular flat top grill before being stuffed with a base of white rice. Al pastor, carne asada, and barbacoa were my protein picks. Mild tomato sauce and guapas crema were the selected salsas. I picked several of the vegetable toppings that were included in the price and avoided those that had a surcharge (e.g. avocado). The size of the tacos was greater than street size, yet $5 apiece was pricey. I found it to be discouraging that there was a lack of a price difference no matter what vehicle was used. Compared to the Mexican cuisine in my current hometown, the meats were under-seasoned and needed more flavor. The shredded beef of the barbacoa was dry too. While the ambiance was fine for a fast casual Mexican chain, the food I tasted did not reach a four star level.

Tacos are my love language toooo!!

Place is a little small and unassuming from the street but the appeal for me was the $2.75 tacos in this economy? As for the tacos, great taste and value overall! They give a pretty generous portion size for their meat in the tacos. I asked for fish tacos, but the lady said they only do fish and shrimp tacos for 6.99? My favorite of the 3 tacos I had was the al pastor, wish it had a little pineapple on top with it. Carnitas were good, but not as flavorful and the lengua was pretty tender as one would hope 4/5* We also ordered the bisteck ranchero and it was a bit lack luster portion size was a lot smaller than what I'm used to and it was soaked in a red tomato sauce. Unfortunately this dish was a miss and underwhelming 2/5* Chips and salsa are refillable upon request too. The women who were working here were very nice as well! Salsa is on the medium/spicy side I'm giving this place 4 stars because of how happy I was with the tacos, please don't change those! Except maybe a little pineapple on the al pastor please! If you're hungry and want something flavorful and filling I would 100% stick to the tacos here

I got 2 quesobirria tacos and 2 tacos al pastor, and visually everything looked on point -- the plating was clean, tacos looked well-stuffed, and the birria tortillas had that nice golden crisp. But once we started eating, we all felt the same thing: the salsas were lacking flavor. And with tacos like these, good salsa takes everything to the next level. Here, it kind of held them back. They only gave me two tiny lime pieces, and I couldn't even get enough juice out of them to brighten up the tacos. Something so simple, but it makes a huge difference. We also asked for chips and salsa (they're not free), and they never came. Honest mistake -- they were cool about it and took it off the bill -- but still, it added to the overall experience. Another thing: the nopales weren't well cooked or prepped. They had that slightly tough, raw texture instead of the tender, seasoned bite they should have. Flavor-wise, the pastor and birria were decent, but with weak salsa and barely any lime, it felt incomplete. All four of us agreed on the same thing: This place could be great if they tighten up their salsas and the little details. I'd give them another shot someday because the base is there -- they just need that extra punch of flavor to really elevate their tacos.

The fish and shrimp in the ceviche were super fresh and had a perfect level of tanginess and spiciness. The mango and avocado were great additions. The pulpo salteados was filling and comforting, with the octopus and calamari being tender, and the potatoes being boiled down to be soft. The garlic butter sauce was delicious! The asado mixto, in my opinion, is the best dish to get, since there's a bit of everything on the menu, from beef to pork to chicken to shrimp. Everything was cooked to be tender, and it was a delicious bite to wrap everything in the corn tortillas. The molcajete salsa had a perfect kick of spice. I always enjoy a dish with veggies as well, and the zucchini and peppers were great with the molcajete. While on the pricier end for Mexican food, everything was tasty and service is friendly and fast. I was stuffed this time, but definitely want to come try the churros next time!

I have been known to get a burrito for lunch. There are other things on the menu I'm sure I'd be happy with. But, when it's Cafe del Sol night, I crave the adobo marinated seafood and chipotle tequila cream sauce of the seafood enchiladas. They are served with yummy cilantro rice, diced mango, salsa fresca, and a small salad. The rotating dishes of my party include Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, the Red Snapper, Fish Tacos, and El Combo.
