I would have taken a picture of my food but I loved it so much I forgot. This place is great. I loved my 2 item meal with taco and enchilada. The yelp check in didn't work but the waitress hooked our son up with a free quesadilla. Great service!

    A shrimp burrito

I went back to this place and ordered a grilled shrimp burrito, and I really loved it. So far I'm very happy I found another place where you can still buy lunch at a fair price. That shrimp burrito has an amazing taste and the green salsa that comes with it , you may want to ask for another one because it tastes really good and you won't be disappointed. I recommend it to anybody or at least try it out.

This was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had. All of the dishes were tasteless and underprepared. None of them matched the description provided on the menu. By far the worst of the dishes were the veggie "fajitas". These supposed "fajitas" were comprised of steamed (yes... steamed) broccoli and some carrots with no tortillas. Do not spend a dime on this place. Awful.

An excellent, quiet, neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Menlo Park, Cafe Del Sol sees a bunch of regulars and has some of the friendliest servers around! The decor is nothing particularly special--homey, sunny, and spacious, but the food is fresh, bright, vibrant, and colorful! I came with a group of four for lunch on a Saturday and we arrived to an empty-looking restaurant. On every table was a plate of freshly fried corn tortilla chips, salsa verde, and pico de gallo. We ordered the shrimp tostada salad, which came with lettuce, guacamole, mango chunks, refried beans, and fried tortillas. It was dressed so nicely with a tomatillo sauce and had a great crunch. The shrimp was one of the best parts--seasoned so nicely and grilled to perfection! We also had the halibut plate and the shrimp plate, each of which came with seasoned Mexican rice, beans (black or refried), mango salsa, and a fresh cole slaw. The shrimp were perfectly cooked in a zesty garlic/lime sauce, but the halibut was unfortunately overcooked and somewhat tough/dry. Finally, we got two fish tacos on a plate (one salmon, one red snapper), but the fish was also a bit overcooked and charred. While the execution of the seafood could have been a bit better, everything else on the plates tasted simply so fresh, light, and delicious. For the food itself, I'd probably rate this restaurant a 3.5, but the super friendly service and great value bump it up a notch!

I got the chicken milanesa. It was a bit over fried but tasted good.

I was returning from the hospital with my mother and based on yelp reviews, I decided to give this place a try. It was closed when we got there but they let us in since it was almost 5 PM. We waited a few minutes and it was really annoying to hear the Mexicans talking out loud and the Mexican radio. I think in respect for the guests, the establishment should keep noise levels down behind the scene. Eventually more customers came in and they got busy enough to stop the talking. The staff was very friendly and we both enjoyed our dishes.

It said open until 9. We arrived at 7:45 and they were closed. Super bummed, especially since the chicken nachos are supposed to be amazing!

With my mother currently at Stanford Hospital, I've been eating on the go constantly and witnessing this excess firsthand. Then came Brenya. This incredible young server didn't just bring me fantastic summer cuisine--she brought pure heart. When she served me an extra dish of Mexi corn fritters simply because she couldn't bear to see good food go to waste, it moved me deeply. Her empathy, thoughtfulness, and natural alignment with the Zero Waste spirit lifted my soul at a time I truly needed it. Bravo, Brenya, and bravo, Wildseed! You have a customer for life. Everyone ordered different dishes so we could try a lot of things from the menu. 1/5 Athenian Eggplant - Far too sour and the flat bread was SO HARD. The avocado toast is delicious - sometimes the poached egg is a little too firm but I can deal with that. The chefs make some great brunch items. The eggs are always good. The freshly baked bread is a nice take home for lunch. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I know their jobs are very busy and they work hard. It doesn't go unnoticed. HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS!!!…read more I am writing this review to both warn other customers and so that management sees this. I was at the MP location earlier this week and saw not one but TWO health code violations committed by employees. First, one of the ladies was drinking out of an open cup at the front where the food and beverages are prepared. This is against the health code! 113977. (a) Except as specified in subdivision (b), an employee shall eat or drink only in designated areas where contamination of nonprepackaged food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; unwrapped single-use articles; or other items needing protection cannot result. (b) A food employee may drink from a closed beverage container if the container is handled to prevent contamination of the employee's hands, the container, nonprepackaged food, and food-contact surfaces. The employee (brown hair in a ponytail, wearing grey Adidas) was frequently drinking a pink drink from a clear open cup behind the counter where the pastries are! Also, I saw the male employee behind the counter sneeze and use his bare hand to cover his sneeze. He rubbed his nose and sniffed. I was watching him from my table to make sure that he washed his hands. He went over to the sink behind the cash register and I kid you not, he turned on the water and for literally ONE SECOND put his hands under it. He then wiped his hands together to dry them. HE DID NOT USE SOAP TO WASH HIS HANDS AFTER SNEEZING INTO THEM!!!! Article 4. Handwashing 113953.3. (a) (2) After touching bare human body parts other than clean hands and clean, exposed portions of arms. (5) After coughing, sneezing, using a handkerchief or disposable tissue, using tobacco, eating, or drinking. He then went back to work grabbing customers' pastries. I'd really love for management to please have a word with staff/review training and protocols - please don't respond to this review with the canned "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have addressed this with our staff and we will take your comments into consideration." Please actually DO SOMETHING and ensure that all of your staff follow proper health code laws! Thank you!! :D
