For several years everything was great. I got a letter this year explaining there would be a surcharge for customers that order below a threshold. I did not realize that they would also jack up the per gallon fee from $3.85 in January 2024 to $6.09 in June 2024. I asked to discuss this with someone and I was told that Carrie would be giving me a call and that was one week ago and no call back and no message. The customer care is non-existent now. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend anyone seek them out as a propane supplier. read more

The company is a disgrace. Often outdated but secretly sold leaving consumer stuff with the new owners. When they sold them self, it was sort of the cloak and dagger. They didn't wanted no one to know that they were selling out their consumers. It seems the left-hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and nor do they care‼ Avoid get caught under their claw...seek services elsewhere. read more

This company is horrible since being sold. Doubled my propane cost to over $6/gallon. They lied when I told them I was switching, that every other company would charge an intro rate to get my business but I would end up paying the same, and tried to convince me that doubling my rate was a matter of keeping up maintenance on their trucks. Yeah, right. I switched to Tri-County and cut my rate in half. And it sounds like a lot of other customers left too. Took a month to pick up their propane tanks off my front yard and another 5 weeks to send me a check for the propane I had left in the tanks. Crooks. read more

My propane charge went up fifty cents from in January '25, to $3.94. A friend of mine uses a different propane company, and her bill was $3.04 per gallon. For me, that's $150 less than what I paid in one fill. I'm changing companies in the spring. Also, I've tried paying on their online pay website. The website was malfunctioning the last two times I tried to use it. I give Malzahn two starts because the several times I called customer service, they were very cordial and helpful. I have no beef with their customer service reps. But the price is a deal breaker. read more

Malzhan Gas was a great business; John took great care of his customers. Unfortunately, a few years ago, he sold the industry, and the new company doesn't care about its customers. The service isn't the same. It is all about money, and the staff is disgruntled and disrespectful to clients. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I do not recommend it. read more

this company USED to to be great. now it's turned to garbage and prices thru. thru the roof. I ordered propane they did not show up reordered again 2 weeks later I ran out and the had the ordasity to lock out my tank and I had to pay a 260.00 leak tester fee of course they found no leak but I run out of propane even tho it was their fault read more

This used to be a great business with fair prices. They were bough out by someone else and now and think they can charge very high prices. They charged me $6.70/gallon for propane when their competitor (Tri County) only wants $3.44/gallon. Do not use them unless you like throwing your money out the window. read more

I cancelled my service in May of 2021, paid my balance and went on to move into my new house. Malzahn continues to send me bills & will not pick up the existing tanks & credit me for the remaining gas. I have called customer service every month to resolve, which I am guaranteed will happen, to no avail. If was to look for a new propane company Malzahn would not even be a company that I would consider. The shame of this is, we had been good customers for over 20 years. read more

Do they gave negative stars. We have a summer home in Glen Spey and have been using them for a good 40 years. This trip we saw tank was low and called them for more propane. Truck came this morning and filled my two tanks but the told me that he had to lock them because they need to check for leaks. So now we have no gas for hot water. Dispatcher told us someone would come between 6 and 8. We had to cancel our dinner reservation to wait for the guy and he never showed. To boot they are charging over 200 for this scam. If there is a leak...why fill the tanks? They are also charging double the rate for the gas. read more

I left Wallace Oil a Meenan Oil company as they are a bunch of thieves and swithed to Malzahn Gas. Malzahn for the 3+ years that I had them were fantastic I would have given them 5 Stars. Malzahn was bought out by Meenan Oil and my propane price went up by $1.58 per gallon. Now I am stuck with one of the giant money grubbing companies again. read more

This business was sold to Wallace Gas, even though they are still using the Malzahn name. The Malzahn's would never treat their customers the way this new owner does. we have an outside shed with a propane gas heater in it we called to get the tank filled. they arrived one day to fill it and we weren't home. we were never notified when they were coming or that we had to be home for them to fill the tank. since the tank was empty, they put a lock on the filled tank and told us to call them to come and take the lock off and make sure there were no leaks. we did and they came and took the lock off. one week later we received a whopping bill for 225.00 for unlocking the tank and checking for leaks. it was not our fault we weren't home when they filled the tank originally. we were never told we had to be home. my husband called last week and never received a call back. the manager wouldn't even talk to him on the phone. so, in conclusion, this new company, Wallace Gas is a rip off. They are using the good name and reputation of the Malzahn family. so beware , most people don't even know it's not the Malzahn's business any more. i am beyond furious and am posting this review and also on Facebook to warn people about this company. read more

The gentleman whom delivers the gas is incredibly nice however the woman who answers the phone has zero manners and is incredibly rude. I called to see if I was getting a delivery and she said " oh some time this week." I expressed to her that I need a deliver soon, as I'm low on fuel and just would like to know when I am scheduled?". Clearly annoyed she may have to actually do some work. She said " I don't know we just opened at 8am you'll have to call back later." I'm sorry but when I get to work I am expected to work immediately by my boss. Not tell costumers to call back. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've dealt with her rudeness and now have turned to yelp. So be careful with whom you chose for a propane delivery. read more

I bought a house that came with an old malzahns tank..I called for a larger tank and a delivery..when I asked for credit for the gas in the old tank, they rudely told me "why? You didn't pay for it" I checked around for prices, finding he charged me $2.50 more a gal.than the average local oil price..when I called and asked him why, he said " I'm not charging rent on the tank" this guy is a thief with a very bad attitude I would not recommend using his company ever read more

Malzahn was great when we were customers! I never had a bad thing to say before. Once we closed out the account to move to another area things changed. They continue to harass us and mail is billing statements even after the account was closed out and another person bought our old house 6 months ago. read more

Only company in our service area, they won't deliver to us because their name isn't on the tank.
