Went last night for COVID restaurant lifting the restrictions, sat out in outside in tent area and had a few drinks with a friend. Then ordered food, been there a few times and was always a great time but this time had wings. What a disappointment they took around an hour to come out then when you touched them they literally fell off the bone, no meat left and no crisp which to me indicts they were pre baked. Extremely disgraced due to there expressed A+ food by them on FB all the time. Don't know if i'd go back-waitress even asked if we wanted another beer and we said no then she came out with a round anyway and charged us too. read more

Excellent addition to the Rockledge neighborhood. The beer selection is decent (for the neighborhood it's downright amazing), with the occasional surprise rarity (Heady Topper for example). Food is fantastic - really amazing bar food, and the Wit or Witowski definitely delivers! read more

Really wanted to love this place..... cute from the outside.... As we were holding the door to go inside a couple was coming outside and said to us don't go in there if you want to talk to each other it's way too loud..... We just smiled and decided to venture on .... BUT the volume level of the music playing inside was actually deafening..... we truly tried to stick it out because we really wanted to love it here.... We had to literally scream at each other to partially hear. Apps came out and three minutes later the food came out.... Well half of the table's food..... the other half came out a good eight minutes later AFTER we asked what the deal was. On May 5th Malt House in Rockledge posted a margarita special. To help support a small business, my husband and I ordered two margaritas (strawberry and original). We placed the order at 2 and let them know we would be there around 4:30 for pickup. We pull in at 4:15 and waited for 28 minutes for someone to come out to our car (they were only doing curbside). Finally after two or three cars who have pulled up after us got their orders and pulled away we grabbed the next server that came out to let her know that we were there. We said "excuse me" and she goes "yeah, whats up?" like were friends or something... we say we just wanted to let you know we were waiting here and no one has come to our car yet. She responds " yeah and this is my system so you'll have to wait" we reply " thats great customer service" and she comes over to our car and screams "I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE"- oh i forgot to mention that I had my TWO year and my FOUR year old kids in the back seat while she cursed at me. Finally my husband calmed me down and another server brought out our order. Then i call the restaurant to talk to the manager and the phone is off the hook for over 2 hours so i called the Port Richmond location and talk to one of the girls and told her what just happened. She said OMG that is so not ok- I'm going to text my manager now you should get a call back by the end of the night....not one but TWO DAYS GOES BY AND NO CALL. Finally, the owner MATT just called me and said "hmm ok- i'll look into it" never asked my name, what kind of car I had, what my order was... how was he to know what he was looking for? So I told him, this is not how I thought this conversation was going to go but now I know why your servers act like that. Then that MF says oh you sound like a typically philly girl- sounds like you were the problem from the start. HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT IT WAS MY FAULT. WE WAITED QUIETLY FOR 28 MINUTES. THEN A SERVER CURSES IN MY FACE AND ITS MY FAULT? YOU ARE A TERRIBLE BUSINESS AND I WOULD NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. I've had the pleasure to eat at this establishment 3 times as of today since they first opened. I've had the Wit or Witowski, the Pork sandwich and the chicken cutlet one flew over the cukoo's nest as my main courses and the kielbasa egg rolls and cauliflower bites as starters. The food has always been really good and the service just as good. If I had to choose I'd probably say the pork sandwich was my favorite but you really can't go wrong with anything you choose. This place will definitely have me as a regular customer. I highly recommend anyone try their food. read more

My Aunt and I came here recently for bloody marys. They make their own mix and they were super tasty. We enjoyed them so much that we came back a few days later with family for lunch and cocktails. Been here many times since the opening of this place and the service here I swear gets worse and worse each time. Use to love coming all the time. Came here for a eagles game early enough before it got crowded and got a table. Our waitress Regan was possibly the rudest human being our group encountered. She was unpleasant, would walk away before anyone could even order. It was like us being there was a nuisance to her. Asked about a special, and she looked at us and threw her arms in the air and said "yeah what about it" in a rude tone. One person at our table couldn't even get a chance to put in a order for a hour because she would take one order then run away from the table and not even acknowledge the rest. The energy from our waitress just ruined our mood so we left by half time. Anybody can understand in a busy atmosphere a waitress would be running around and cannot be perfect, but we came much earlier when no tables were occupied and still received such rude treatment like we were a bother to be there. After this experience I'll be checking other places out in rockledge for games. Use to love this place a lot, but definitely going down hill in terms of service and hospitality. read more

I wish I didn't have to write this but I use to love this place,but the last two times I've been there the service was poor. The first time I brushed it off as maybe she was having a bad day because we all have them but I was there again this past weekend and the waitress was just plan old rude. Never even introduced us with her name. We had a table of 6 people and she didn't even let All of us order our food she took three orders and walked away and we had to wait for her to come back 10/15 min later and once she did she only took down one more order and walked away again. So the other people at the table had to wait again. And this happened multiple times through out our time there. She had a nasty attitude when we asked questions about the specials and deals. It really breaks my heart cause my friends and I use to love coming here since it's our neighborhood bar/restaurant. But it's safe to say we will not be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I are are very loyal to local businesses. When the malt house did not have the outside tent, would order take to try and do out part to support. When the hot the outside tent we went there often with our pup to do our part. Malt house has never had an impressive beer list and the food was over priced but it's close and really the only place open. Tonight my boyfriend and I plus our dog went to the Malt House for dinner. We were told the wait would be around 30-45 minutes. We decided to order some beer while we waited. After about 20 minute the host came up to us and said I'm we would not be allowed in the outdoor tent because of our dog. (Which she could have told us before waiting outside for 25 by minutes.) I asked to speak to the manager. I have worked customer service before and I'm well aware that you get what you give. I could tell he was not happy to have to talk to me but I still approached him and said "Hi Sir, are you the manager?" He was very dismissive and basically treated me as if they did not need our business. I was not looking for a hand out. I understand they did not need us and our dog there. This is totally inconsistent from the two weeks prior but I was ok with that. He then told me "well two weeks ago is the past, your dog can't come in now." I wanted him to know that we truly wanted to support the business but I was disheartened by the fact we had to stand outside in the cold for 25 minutes to be told we couldn't go in the tent. He basically shewed me away and acted liken we were disposable. We basically only went to this place for the environment and not the menu but this ceased the deal. Tried to come for brunch yesterday but they stopped serving it a little early and got lunch instead . I got the beyond burger which was good, not too salty . My friend got the pork sandwich , we both got fries on the side with copper cheese , it was so so delicious. We also got one of the rotating specials it was like a broccoli rabe dip with garlic bread . It was melty good and the bread was seasoned nicely . I got Buffalo cauliflower as well , which looks like wings sometimes and is definitely a favorite, I try to get it every time I go. Our server Cory was really nice and accommodating, and I was able to use a free app promo from Facebook . We also enjoyed our seasonal drinks the latte dah and single and ready to mingle , both were a little minty and you could definitely taste the booze . This place is so worth it and they also dressed the place up for Christmas which was a nice touch . I definitely look forward to going again and hopefully coming for brunch another time . read more

We decided to meet some friends here yesterday for a few beers and something to eat. The main room was relatively busy so we sat in the back room. At that time there was one other table with a family. The rest of the room was empty. We were planning on ordering apps first, then a sandwich. The waitress was a little aggressive. We ordered our drinks and she wanted to take our app order when she delivered the drinks. We asked for some time to look over menu and just sit and relax for a bit. It was early afternoon and there was no crowd. She came by at least every 5 minutes asking for our food order. We kept assuring her we were ordering food, but asked for time to look at menu and just enjoy our drinks. Finally we gave up and put the order in. Almost as soon as they were delivered there she was asking for our sandwich order. I enjoy good service but this was becoming quite annoying. After being there awhile another waitstaff was meandering around, the room was still empty, as was the bar back there. She had very long hair and unbelievably was behind the bar combing her hair, tossing it around and using hair spray. This is called personal hygiene and should be done in the ladies room or some other area where the patrons can't see and wonder if their next glass of beer will have a hair in it or hairspray on the glass. The cajun Brussels sprouts were awesome as where the wings. Chicken parm and fried chicken Buffalo sandwich also good. Overall I would not be in a hurry to get back, but would not cross it off my list. They have a good size parking lot. read more

I will never go back to malt house rockledge. 1 of the worst dining experiences ever. We went there with a prior reservation with 20+ people. We had an employee enter the reservation in hopes to have her as our waitress so that we could take care of her as she is in need during the pandemic. Management whose name is hugh was a complete douche bag and switched her from our section at last minute and laughed in our face when we asked why she wasnt serving us. On top of this we waited over an hour and half for appetizers in a place that only serves sandwiches and fried food. We were told it was busy and too bad. cinco de LET DOWN worst cinco de Mayo ever experienced! We were at first excited that there was barely any one there around 5:30pm.. sat down looked at the special menu $9 for tacos $8 for guac and chips and $9 for margs and $45 for marg pitchers. There was 3 of us so we decided why not a margarita pitcher, get the pitcher and FILLED with ice and we only got ONE drink each. Now remind you a marg drink cost $9 each. So was it worth it $45 a pitcher for ONE DRINK EACH absolutely not! We tell our waitress which she agreed and said someone else already complained about the margarita pitcher.... meanwhile... everyone around us was complaining as well. We explain to our waitress we do not want to be charged for this pitcher only charge us $9 each per marg she says she will take care of it and will change it on the bill. Fast forward to our bill end of the night what do you know .. the $45 pitcher of margs was on it! Not only did it take forever for our service, the second round of drinks was horrible nothing like the first drinks which was served in a glass then second time in a plastic cup, my friends tacos was missing guac barely anything on them and our check was still wrong. The waitress tells us she will discuss with the manager when she told us already she took care of it.. then finally came back and it was off our bill all said and done..Shitty ass service, shitty ass margs & shitty ass tacos. Don't advertise something for weeks and then can't even live up to you expectations. How can a small bar have such bad service get it together your managements sucks. I've heard really good things about this place and they do have good food but I've only been here twice and the people that work the night shift are so unproffesional and just overall rude to the customers. Instead of saying it's last call and people need to start leaving soon they instead just scream at everyone to "get the fuck out" and continuously curse and scream at everyone to leave. We stuck to take out since they opened to try to support a local small business, but when someone posted a Facebook video of the bar/restaurant last night, we decided no more. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and basic common sense. I was told there was a 45 minute wait for a table for 2 on a Saturday night which is understandable. I waited in my car in the parking lot. However, after waiting for 1 1/2 hours and still not seated and told there was someone ahead of me is ridiculous. There was at least 10 names after mine that have been seated before me and I'm guessing because they were more than 2 people they were banking on higher tips. I live right here in the neighborhood and I have been here before and the food really is delicious. Very poor management at this location. I will not be returning and it's a shame to lose a paying customer because clearly this restaurant has incompetent staff. read more

Normally the food is good but their brunch was not. The Creamed Chipped beef has so much salt you could not taste anything else it was almost un edible liked they dumped a whole shaker into it. And their bloody mary had so much horseradish that you could not taste any vodka. Very disappointing. My other experiences have been good but the brunch not so much. read more

Meh. Met a few friends here for lunch last week. Walking in we were told to seat ourselves, no problem. Waitress comes over for the drink order. She's fine. Not nice, not friendly. She definitely didn't want to be there, which I can understand with how short staffed restaurants are now. Immediately I notice that there are stink bugs all over the table next to us. Needless to say I wanted to die. I moved my seat (stayed at the same table, I didn't want to be disruptive) to avoid making eye contact with them. Again, I excused it since there is outdoor seating so the door is constantly opening and closing. We ordered a variety of food, which I have to say was pretty good. The chicken sandwich with red peppers and broccoli rabe, a special lunch salad, wings, the wit or witowski, and an order of the cheese fries. Everything was good! I then went to use the restroom and again, almost died. The bathroom door was propped open, which I thought was odd. I go in to see an army of fruit flies everywhere. There were weird traps on the counter, I guess to catch said fruit flies. But my God was it disgusting. I had to pee with one arm waving frantically around my head to not get attacked. If I lived closer I would have held it and went at home. I literally could not have gotten out of there fast enough because in my head, if the bathrooms are disgusting, what does the kitchen look like? The food in our experience was easily 4 stars, the condition of the restaurant and restrooms is a negative 10. read more
