Malt House is definitely a great addition to Rockledge. I worked in Rockledge for many years and rumors kept swirling around that Malt House was coming to the area. The excitement sank in when my friend called to make a reservation on Saturday. They weren't taking reservations, but walk-ins were being accepted. When we arrived, the hostess gave us the option to sit inside or outside. They have cute picnic tables with umbrellas out front so we sat outside. The tables were spaced out enough to allow for social distancing. I asked for an El Chavo Mango & Habanero hard cider on draft and unfortunately had to send it right back. My tastebuds couldn't handle it! I ordered an Angry Orchard instead. My friend and I split an order of the fried mozzarella. The outside was crispy and crunchy, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. I liked that they were shaped like triangles. Food is more fun when it's in shapes, right? I ordered cauliflower bites with garlic parm sauce. Delicious! The cauliflower wasn't as crispy as the fried mozzarella, but still very flavorful. It came with a side of sauce (don't know what it was exactly) but it was creamy and savory. Cheese fries are my weakness so I had to get them and they were excellent! It's obvious they make their fries in house. The cheese was smothered on top. Large portion for the price! The menu is smaller than most (I suspect because of COVID). Employees were wearing masks during my visit. Plenty of parking and seating. Great spot to hang out, have a couple beers and enjoy the music coming through the speakers.

I accidentally posted the below review to the wrong Gaul & Co. Malthouse the other day. For which I apologize. I accidentally posted it to the original Gaul & Co. Malthouse on Gaul Street in Port Richmond. When I saw that was incorrect, I deleted the post or thought I deleted it - it was hard to tell. In the end, it must have still been posted, so, Yelp took it down, which is the right thing to do, so again, my bad, sorry. However, then Yelp and or Malthouse also took down my post at the correct location, which was the Gaul & Co Malt House Rockledge. So in just case, you missed it.. here it is again with the addition of the "Flagged Content" Yelp tag line - I did not even correct my grammar reading it again. Flagged Content: My wife tried the WITORWITOWSKI, I told her it was bad but she had to find out for herself...blaa. Roast pork sandwich was decent, fries were very good. Got the "crab fries" with meat and cheese, very junkie in a good way. But if the menu says lump crab meat, then you should use and serve lump crab, what we got was not. Was served a Troegs Perpetual that expired in December and sat at a table that should have been put in the dumpster a long time ago. . I get the high school waitresses, i get that its a bar, that is fine. But come on people get it together.

Came here specifically for the Kielbasa Cheesesteak after some late night drinks at a brewpub. It was definitely a different take on the classic Cheesesteak as the chopped up bits of kielbasa was texturally confusing. Nonetheless, it was still good but just a little too salty.

Great food. Decent prices. Good music and friendly local environment. Nice outdoor spot if you want to eat outside. Lively bar area but still a clean environment for children. Took away 1 star because not really a diverse crowd (my preference but not a requirement). Also, they took awhile to take our order but it was also busy.

I think we spent our entire Summer here last year. Maybe even most of this one too. So, my first visit taste of Malt House was a few years ago at their original Gaul & Co in Port Richmond and I was an instant follower. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when this one opened in Rockledge. I'm a Polish girl and grew up eating kielbasa, along with every other Polish deliciousness my grandmother made. But I've never had shaved kielbasa like this until Malthouse. Now I have dreams about their egg rolls and cheese sauce. Staff is always friendly and attentive. They have weekly specials and occasionally live music. It's a great Summer hangout with lots of outdoor seating and heated tents when it gets cold. Great addition to our little corner of the world.

I was given a gift card and I wanted to try some grub so I called in order for pickup and it was ready when I got there. Everything was very fresh and hot. It all looked scrumptious. Burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the fresh cut fries were exceptional. Chicken fingers weren't boring by any means these were fantastic. I really enjoyed the breading and more of the hand cut fries. But I think the star of this food trifecta was the fried brussel sprouts. The order was immense but these were exceptionally delectable. So I would call this a win everything was delicious and will be back.

Home of the "wit or witowski" also my go to item. It's a delicious kielbasa cheesesteak. The malt often has live music, and is great in the summertime with the outdoor seating. Though a bit of a sports bar, the food is definitely above average bar food. This place has a fun atmosphere to watch a sports game or just hang out. The staff is generally great and if you're looking for a fun, clean spot in northeast Philly to go out for the night, look no further.

Overrated and overpriced! Wings were the worst wings I have ever had. Dry and soggy. Kielbasa fries were good though!

Kind of surprised by the high rating- nice dive bar. Pros-…read moreeveryone is very nice-there are a few really good bartenders-open late-cheap-parking Cons- Smokey....I doubt they have a SmokeEater... if they it doesn't work. You will REEK like smoke when you leave- No food of any knd-not even chips ..you can walk across the street to the Wawa...surprised they just dont go to BJS and sell a variety pack of snacks and make a few extra bucks. 1 or 2 "average" at best bartenders- I guess its good for smokers to have a place to go but they have a little awning covered front with chairs- I think if they went non-smoking like Buckets did they would reap the benefits and people could still go just a few feet outside and be covered from the elements. To be honest- I usually end up here becuase other places close early -I've never left my house as this as my first choice.

I moved to Abington about three years ago, and it's honestly frustrating to even write this. I used…read moreto really like Elbow Room. It's a small dive bar, nothing fancy, but me and a few of my friends from out of town, all in our early 30s, would go there to play pool and hang out. The old heads there always treated us with respect, and there are definitely some good people there. But things around it have taken a turn. To say there are "characters" would be an understatement. Some of the people in and around that place are straight up sketchy. I've had someone sell me a fake apple watch and get aggressive about it (mistake I made was letting this man in my car so I can make sure the watch worked and of course it turned out to be fake) but he was old and looked harmless... but when he mentioned a knife, I had to let it g as I have a new born son and I had already made a poor decision on hi behalf). And while the bartender I spoke to is a good guy and was right not to get involved, it still leaves you feeling like there's this unspoken "look the other way" culture. That doesn't sit right with me, it almost feels like it enables the wrong kind of behavior. To be clear, this incident did not take place in the parking lot of the bar, but it's the surrounding area which these morons typically come from. I saw a couple in their 50's screaming and fighting outside while kids were walking by with their dad getting ice cream. That's not something you want to see in your own neighborhood. Thats what college kids do open thirsty Thursdays It makes you wonder, if people are comfortable scamming and acting aggressive like that, what else is going on? Who else are they targeting? It's a shame, because there are good people there and it used to feel like a solid local spot. But between the behavior and the environment it's attracting, it's not somewhere I feel comfortable being anymore, especially with a family to think about. My god I cant wait to leave this town. And I am from the Bronx originally....

We went for the happy hour app and drink specials for our birthdays, but because it took our server 15 minutes to come back and check on us, they wouldn't let us get the specials. (Felt intentional, like they were stalling) Our server was nice, but not attentive at all. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasnt so pricey and the service was better. We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!

It took a minute to get a table and then waited a little for a server, but once she came by and got the drink and food order, everything went very quickly. I had the falafel wrap, which was excellent, and it came with a side Caesar salad, also excellent. Good prices, too; the 16-ounce Miller Lites were only four dollars each. I'd definitely stop by here again when I'm in Glenside for a show at the Keswick. It's probably a good idea to reserve a table on concert nights. There were only two people in my party and they got us in, but it was very busy, so something to keep in mind for next time.

The bar area was quite large and it appears in the warmer weather that one of the exterior walls retracts. Our server, Rachael, was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The drink menu included one of my favorite ciders, and the tap lines must be well-maintained because it tasted exactly as it should. The fries were simple but surprisingly good. Cons: Unfortunately, the food itself really missed the mark. The fried pickles were unlike any we've had--and we order them often. They were overloaded with greasy batter that tasted more like a donut than a savory appetizer. The wings were another disappointment. We love wings and usually finish an order easily, but these had an overwhelming vinegar flavor that made them tough to eat. We ended up leaving almost half the order. Overall: The standout of the entire visit was the service. If we could sit in Rachael's section again, we might consider giving the place a second chance--but strictly for the service, not the food.
