They also take the time to ask me how I'm doing and if I take a new class what my thoughts are! Sathy's has become more than just a place for me  practice yoga. Gigi was excellent working with my husband who has no flexibility, bad knees and a horrible back from a congenital issue and back surgery. She showed him how to modify some of the poses/positions for his level and we did the entire 75 min and we definitely can't wait to come back. They have showers, hot sauna and cold plungers. We had set up a massage with Boon Massage Therapy located here and he is having a massage now to work out the muscles from the class. The space is very relaxing, i felt focused and centered, on my strength and body's capabilities with the spa and class being very welcoming and the entire place has such a zen and calming feeling. Definitely come try them out. Call and ask about their free trial class. You'll be hooked too!!

I suffer from an autoimmune disease and deal with chronic inflammation. While I take meds and have regular appointments with a rheumatologist, yoga is the only thing that truly makes me feel better, so I was desperate to find a new home studio. Once everything started opening up, I tried various other studios, but none of them felt right. They all seemed focused on what I call "trendy yoga" . But then I found Breathe. I started following them on Instagram to get a feeling about their practice. Finally I took the plunge and signed up for the new student package. After 3 weeks, I became a full member. The Breathe staff passionately believes that we are students of our bodies, and that mantra shines through in every class. I feel like I've found my practice again.... And that feeling is terrific.

It's the first studio I've ever visited where the instructors make an effort to remember your name the very first time you show up to one of their classes. I've barely finished my initial 3 weeks and am already planning on signing up for a monthly membership.

All are fantastic and lead by individuals who are passionate about what they do. My first class was Christ centered yoga led by Hollie. Hollie is amazing and has such a strong belief and so much love. Her class is amazing and not only are you doing yoga but you are also reinforcing your beliefs. I then did a yoga basics led by Ashliee who owns the studio. She is amazing and loves what she does. She leads a great class and has such wonderful energy. So far the yoga has been amazing and best part is my husband loved it and attends with me now too. Now onto the therapies. First I had the cupping massage. Look it up and if your don't know it is. You get a nice massage follow by the cups being placed on you that drawn out the toxins in the body and get your blood circulating to those areas. I found it to be relaxing and helped with some of my sciatica pain. My husband had the same treatment and liked it as well but didn't find it as relaxing as myself. Next I did the Shirodhara. It is an oil dripping treatment and a nice soothing treatment. It was such a relaxing and blissful experience. It's bit really a massage but a soothing treatment for yourself. I relaxing and just enjoyed being there and letting go of all my worries. If your looking for massage or yoga you can look no further and come in, just don't take my spot.

(Yes, I live within 100 feet of train tracks. Yes, the train goes by often. No, it does not wake me up at night.) Rubber Soul is tucked away in the pretty yet unassuming Leathers Building, which is on Pulaski Street right before you get to the tracks. Rubber Soul has a small door marked with a stand-up metal YOGA sign; their front door always has that month's class schedule posted for the taking. Rubber Soul is a donations-based yoga center. A $3-5 donation per class attended is suggested but not monitored or required. (Not monitored as in they don't watch each person enter to see if they're paying or not.) I paid $5 my first time but only $2 today. You can go for free if you can't afford to donate, and they won't hate you for it. The classes are all taught by volunteer teachers who really believe that yoga can help you physically and spiritually. Thus far, no one I've encountered over there is overly preachy, so that's nice. The space is small but comfortable. Yoga mats can be rented for a $1 donation; bottles of water cost the same. Yoga bricks (?) and blankets are yours for the taking during class. I went to Laughing Club there a few months back with some friends. A fun and strange experience in which we spent an hour making weird noises, movements, and giggles. You should try it, especially if the idea freaks you out. Today I went to Gentle Yoga and loved it. Even the gentle class was a little workout for this novice! I love that this place is a non-profit. I love how involved they are with the community. I love the cozy space that doesn't waste resources. I love and don't love that the schedule changes month to month. Check their website for class details, and let me know if you're going to a session! See you there.
