This is a donation based studio with a recommended donation of 10$ to keep up with their expenses. You sign in at the front, put your donation in the box, and head to the air conditioned studio with mats, blocks, and blankets available to you. Our instructor greeted us right away with a smile. The class itself was good intensity for power flow, and the music was contemporary, upbeat, and matched the energy of the class. Definitely check out power flow Tuesday's at 7pm with Paul.

I've only been to two classes at Rubber Soul, but I loved the place long before stepping inside its…read moredoors. First off, it gets points for being right down the train tracks from my house. (Yes, I live within 100 feet of train tracks. Yes, the train goes by often. No, it does not wake me up at night.) Rubber Soul is tucked away in the pretty yet unassuming Leathers Building, which is on Pulaski Street right before you get to the tracks. Rubber Soul has a small door marked with a stand-up metal YOGA sign; their front door always has that month's class schedule posted for the taking. Rubber Soul is a donations-based yoga center. A $3-5 donation per class attended is suggested but not monitored or required. (Not monitored as in they don't watch each person enter to see if they're paying or not.) I paid $5 my first time but only $2 today. You can go for free if you can't afford to donate, and they won't hate you for it. The classes are all taught by volunteer teachers who really believe that yoga can help you physically and spiritually. Thus far, no one I've encountered over there is overly preachy, so that's nice. The space is small but comfortable. Yoga mats can be rented for a $1 donation; bottles of water cost the same. Yoga bricks (?) and blankets are yours for the taking during class. I went to Laughing Club there a few months back with some friends. A fun and strange experience in which we spent an hour making weird noises, movements, and giggles. You should try it, especially if the idea freaks you out. Today I went to Gentle Yoga and loved it. Even the gentle class was a little workout for this novice! I love that this place is a non-profit. I love how involved they are with the community. I love the cozy space that doesn't waste resources. I love and don't love that the schedule changes month to month. Check their website for class details, and let me know if you're going to a session! See you there.

I joined Forge-Rx after being a member of the larger gym in town. That particular gym did not have…read moreenough equipment for enrollment size. Forge RX is a smaller, family owned gym. The owners are good people. I do like that they have several sets of dumbbells, so you aren't waiting for people to finish their set (most women use 10 to 25 lbs. There are many sets throughout the gym). They keep the gym clean, which is a major plus to me. They take pride in their gym. The only minor issue I had was I was working out in the smaller weight area behind the front desk & the young lady came and fumigated the area w Lysol as I was working out. It's not something I want to deeply inhale as I'm "in the zone". The lockers in the female locker room are hit or miss w the locks working & a lot of people just leave their stuff there on a permanent basis making it hard to find an empty locker sometimes to secure your belongings. It is a smaller gym, so there is no hip abuctor machine or leg curl. There is only one smith machine which is popular. There are a lot of teenagers that work out as a group here and take a good bit of time on the machines doing their sets. Which, it's good to see them engaged in a healthy lifestyle, I just wish there were more machines. They do offertraininh classes and nutrition guidance (for a fee). I have not used these services, but my neighbor does and she looks absolutely amazing. They do have a smaller infared sauna that you can pay extra for. Just be sure to schedule your time to ensure you get to use it. I take my own bath towel & sweat it all out. (They have smaller, hard sized towels to sit on) The area is kept very clean & I have seen the health benefits already. Overall, I enjoy this gym verses the others in town & if you're looking for a lot of weight loss, it appears to me that their coaching programs are worth it and small enough that you get personalized attention.

They have a strict cancellation policy requiring 2 hour notice for cancellation but I typically register for the class once I'm on the way and know I'll be on time. They offer a variety of classes including early morning and evening. Highly recommend Equilibrium!! Truly a life changing studio!…read more Paola is the most passionate person I have ever met and cares so much about the success of her students inside and outside of the studio. She is highly trained and holds multiple high level certifications through BASI for Pilates, but also has a background involving physical therapy. The combination of both makes her knowledge and ability to instruct any type of person/body, no matter their fitness level/background, unmatched. I started at Equilibrium in January 2025 at 6 months post-partum and the last fitness activity being in my high school days over 10 years ago. I appreciate her slow, focused approach to getting you started, as you'll always start with several one-on-one private classes to prepare you before you move into groups. I felt so much more confident in the group setting because of this! Group reformer & tower classes typically have 3 students, with an absolute max of 4. I also love this because she can still pay very close attention to all students in the class and provide individual corrections as needed. Paola is amazing, but she also has the highest of high standards for her facility and any staff. I know from experience that any of the other instructors on staff are highly trained and follow the same methods and teaching styles as Paola, so you really cannot go wrong with taking classes with anyone at Equilibrium.
