The police are needed in Joliet. I use to live in "Pine Meadows Apartments" and the black american…read moretentants and the black and mexican maintenance men went after me every chance they got. I was barely home, because it was so dangerous for me and my toddler. I would come home to glass on the floor, the maintenance men would go through my things. I would hear conversations that i had on the phone from my apartment from other tentants who laughed at the fact that they we're getting away with attacking me. I remind you i talked very low, So i honestly think it was a secret camera in my home. The tentants would lie on me & my toddler all the time. When i address the tentants, they got very upset and wanted to fight and start threatening me. When i told the property management, they put a letter on my door saying i wouldn't be able to renew my lease (Believe me i wouldn't have renewed my lease anyway, because the environment was extremely dangerous) One day i called the police and the tentants upstairs from me already knew i had called the police, And we're already standing at the place where I told the police to meet me at, nd made it seem like i was the one's doing things to them. It took me time to get there, because my child is autistic. Again, i believe it was a secret camera in my home. The maintenance men, tentants and property management lied on me and said i had a dog so i could get kicked out of the apartment before my lease was up. Some parts of joliet are very dangerous, Especially Pine Meadows Apartments and other apartment buildings as well. I'm a black woman saying this, because it's true

It gets zero stars from me and my son. Don't believe a word they tell you at their orientation…read moremeeting. For example, "the $30 electric utility allowance should be more than enough for a studio apartment." Yes my sons was a 500 sq ft. unit. It had one refrigerator, one stove/oven, dishwasher and two ceiling lights. I'm told it had its own furnace but I have to wonder if it was solely dedicated to this apartment alone. My son had no television, no stereo, no microwave or other kitchen appliances, not even a toaster. He didn't have a lamp and got by using only the two ceiling lights. He also never cooked, only used the dishwasher once and spent the majority of his weekends at my home. In comparison, my house totals 3,300 sq ft. It has two furnaces, well pump, sump pump, two refrigerators, two televisions, three computers, an electric oven, hood fan, electric cooktop, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. There are also small kitchen appliances (e.g., toaster, can opener, mixer), 45 canned floodlights of which I would estimate at least 10 are on at any time; nine outside coach lights, five of which are on all night, two garage door openers, etc. There's more but I'll stop here because I think it is enough to get my point across. So how much were the electric bills from the same provider (ComEd) under the same rate structure for my home during the same time period? About half as much as my home. Tried to talk to them about this but they were always in meetings. I even went there in person but everyone was in a meeting. I said I would wait but I was told the meetings are long and could go on all day. I still said I would wait but was told I couldn't. Instead I went to my sons apartment and told the receptionist to call me when the meeting was over. Of course no one ever called. All I wanted was them to call ComEd to check the meter but that apparently would take to much time away from their meetings. They got their money plus some late fees from the security deposit but not the entire $150 in late fees For the few months that the $200 that was contested. Of course they turned that over to some collection agency even though I have an email on which they said a portion of them would be waived. Also, don't be fooled by the pristine apartment they show you when you are considering leasing from them. They will claim that can't show you the actual apartment you are leasing because they are all rented out. Except once you do sign a lease. you'll realize what poor condition your unit is in, i.e. windows, dishwasher leak, the reason for the blue toilet water, etc. I could go on and on but consider this fair warning to avoid this place at all costs.

I have to give this place zero stars because at first I was excited about student housing. However,…read moremy son didn't keep a certain GPA and was forced to move in the middle of his lease. The downfall is I was the guarantor. There wasn't a academic probation period in regards to the apartment, you are forced to move unless you find someone to take over the lease. Now, I'm stuck paying for the rent for the remainder of the lease and I'm not in a situation to pay for rent or an attorney to fight this case. I haven't paid and now the balance is sent to a collection agency. I would only recommend to do a 6 months lease if you consider letting your kids attend Joliet college.
