I got my brother a sandwich as well to-go and he told me "I swear to God they got better." Yes, it is true. This place gets better every single time I come here. The banh mi dac biet just hits the spot every time. Their meat is made fresh and is combined with meat ball, pickled veggies, jalapeños and fresh herbs. The bread is nicely toasted so that you're not biting into a rock. The eggrolls are also perfectly fried but not oily. It pairs really well with rice/noodle dishes too. This small family-owned restaurant is ran so well. Even during rush hour, my food comes out hot and delicious. I overheard one of the waitstaff say that they were so busy they almost ran out of fish sauce. It's gaining popularity and it won't be long until they have a location everywhere.

So we made plans to come here for Dinner before heading back into Houston. When we arrived, it was a little before dinner time so the place wasn't packed at all. We had told the host that we might have around 12 people coming in for dinner and we got a table with no problem. After we had been seated, we found out that only 8 people was going to dine in and that wasn't an issue. I ordered the Obe Rolls and the Crunchy Rolls as appetizers and decided to go with the Banzai Special for my entree. Between the Obe Rolls and the Crunchy Rolls, I much preferred the Crunchy Rolls. I thought it tasted pretty good. As for my entree, I thought it was pretty good but it has been cooked more medium well than medium, which was what I had requested. But other than that, everything was good. And on top of that they give you a lot of food. As for the service, we had one waiter serving all of us. And he didn't miss a beat! Empty soda glass? He was quick with the refills. Needed to order something else? He was always around. Dirty plates, he would come to pick them up. Frankly, I was a bit skeptical about the service after quickly perusing what other Yelpers had to say about this restaurant, but I was glad that my experience was a good one. I don't live in the area so it's very unlikely that I'll be coming back here anytime soon. However, if I'm ever in the area and my friends want to dine here, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I love a good pizza and was expecting something amazing from a brick oven pizza place. Originally…read morebeing from NY I guess my expectations were a little high. We started with the Bruschetta breadstick at the recommendation of our server, Lucas and they did not disappoint at all. They were full of flavor. We ordered the Favorite pizza and I felt it lacked some flavor. The crust was thin and crispy which was good, but we should have ordered a different pizza. The description said it was a turkey pizza and I thought it would have been crumbled turkey meat. Instead, it was warmed deli turkey. Not a fan. I should have orderd the chicken bacon ranch. Maybe next time. The biggest disappointment was the cannoli. When I see cannoli on the menu I get very excited because I don't get them very often. This was NOT a cannoli. It was a flour tortilla stuffed with something - definitely not cannoli cream and it was warm. Be aware - you will not get a traditional cannoli. I would go back to try and different pizza, but I will definitely not be getting another "cannoli". They should change the name/description.

At one time, I wrote on Yelp "I remain shocked that there are so few pizza places in the Coonie…read moreTriangle." I may have an answer to this dilemma. We went to one of the few, Brick Oven Pizza, and there was lots of seating available and few people there. Now, although we went on a Friday, it was a little before supper officially starts, so I don't know about later Friday nights or all day Saturday, when a big game is shown on TV, or after the Nederland High Bulldogs play. But it is possible that pizza places are just not something that people in Southeast Texas go to. It wasn't because of the bad pie. We had a meat lovers pizza, and it was superb. The dough was a good thickness, there was a good variety of meat, and it was cooked well. The Hunny and girl were working hard to eat as much as they could, it was so good. Naturally, I out-ate them all :-) What about the rest of it? It was typical, what we're accustomed to. Booths and tables, a little dark, sports on the TV. Service was good too. So what's up, SETX? Would you want more like this? I'm no entrepreneur, and restaurants are risky, especially in a collapsing economy. But Brick Oven Pizza appears to be a good place to $upport.

I travel all over the country for my job been to every state multiple times I try to sample sushi everywhere I go except for areas far away from the ocean. This place is definitely not traditional Japanese but more of an American lounge fusion but it works. The people very nice and friendly and talkative but the food was what was amazing. I usually go straight for sashimi maybe a sushi roll and forget about all the fixings. But at this place even the salad and the soup that always comes with the sushi dinner was out of this world! It was all I could do to finish my dinner. Not sure the next time I'll be in Port author Texas but when I am I will definitely come back here.
