Room and everything else was fine and lovely. Just had a celiac attack 20 minutes after eating and my dad had one late in the morning. Please don't eat the food here if you have celiac's disease at the grain and grill ! Hadn't eaten all day and was really excited to eat at the restaurant grain & grill! I got catch of the day and a side salad a vegetables it's hard for me to eat out because I have celiacs disease, ibs, lactose intolerance, and an allergy to egg, and boarder-line pre diabetic I avoid having a lot of sugar as well. I was just in Dublin for two days and eaten at a couple different restaurants that I had seen other celiac folks had eaten at and had no reaction. I didn't have any either ! Also I was excited to come here because I've seen on research that Ireland is really good and aware about celiac disease. And I got here and was so hungry and the waitress assured it would be fine. I always feel self conscious explaining all my allergies and such because I don't want to be a bother and make things complicated or difficult so I feel bad eating out in general, and I could tell the first initial waitress was annoyed with me because she was quite short and didn't make much eye contact with me as I was just finishing my order for lunch, I was trying to ask about certain stuff about the dishes after I figured out my order and she just ignored me and stared at my dad waiting for him to say his what he was going to order. When she was helping me I could tell she was just annoyed too by me and my issues in general and it was quite obvious by her tone and statements she was quite sassy and quick with me and dismissive as well, but still polite but it was still very obvious to me. The other waiters and waitresses were rly nice and they brought the food out and such! I'm with my father and he's not as sensitive as I am and doesn't have as half as bad as a reaction as me, but we both have celiac's disease as of 2-3 years ago. Back in the USA I'm in a area where there's only one place I can eat out at and haven't gone out to eat other than that place in a year because I just don't want to risk getting really sick and malnourished for a week plus. But I trusted the waitress I had a funny feeling but I decided to eat anyways because I was just so hungry after the train for 3 hours about or so from Dublin and it was so delicious but I was about to get in the bus and started feeling feverish and my stomach started to hurt and I started to get so nauseous and I just knew:( so we went to the nearest plaza right next door and got some alka seltzer, threw up in the bathroom, and other peppermint tums like tablets, threw up the rest for 40 minutes straight when I came back to our room, and I feel a bit better. I've just been crying because of the pain and just the fact the rest of my 5 day trip is ruined basically:/. I won't be getting to explore Galway maybe I can come back when I'm older! I'm just going to prepare my own meals and snacks from now like I do in the states and go to grocery stores and eat fresh I'm really upset obviously:( wish I could write a review on just the restaurant ! read more
