I was going to be Mom of the Bar Mitzvah boy for the second time in 15 months. The first time around I did my own make up. I think I did a pretty good job (if I do say so myself!). I wanted this year to be different. Not to mention I felt like I wanted to be pampered a little. What impressed me about Gabi's Yelp reviews, were not only the descriptions of her artistry, but her professionalism. I needed to be ready by 8am and I could not afford to have anyone be tardy. Gabi, was as professional as described. She always returned my messages promptly. She arrived to both of our appointments early. Our first appointment was a trial. I gave Gabi a magazine picture for inspiration. She picked out great colors for my look. Gabi was very concerned if I was pleased and did not mind taking suggestions. Gabi was one of the only make-up artists who agreed to come to my house at 7am and do my make up for a reasonable price ($40 for the trial and $80 for event). The make-up she did for the day of my event was even better than the trial. The airbrushed make-up lasted all day and evening. I hired Gabi to do my make-up for an educational video shoot. She did an amazing and perfect job of selecting the right color combinations for my skin as well as what would be appropriate for the event itself. Since I was doing a video shoot we needed to balance that fact that I did not want to look washed out vs. the other extreme of looking overly made-up. Gabi did a GREAT job deciding each and every detail. Gabi also brought me some extra blotting papers, powder, lip liner and lipstick so I could touch up my make-up when necessary throughout the day (I was out of town so no time to figure this out). Gabi is very attentive and asked me lots of questions regarding my make-up preferences prior to my arrival. This enabled her to be even more prepared for my arrival. Gabi uses airbrush technology and it is FABULOUS because it lasts a lot longer and doesn't rub off. We started about 10:45a.m. and when I got home at 9:30 p.m. I was AMAZED at how wonderful my make-up still looked, no smudging, no running. It was still just as gorgeous as when she first applied it.
