Breakfast sandwiches with egg and bacon, egg and pork sausage and egg and turkey sausage were all delicious and freshly prepared. The hot coffee was fresh and strong. Bagels are good. Portions are fine. I will NEVER go back to the olive street location. Two young ladies (one African American/asian and the other caucasian (brown should length hair) are so cold and unpleasant. They have work at this location for many years! They never say hello or thank you and make it like they are doing you a favor by taking your order. Just shy of being rude. Just really put me off every time I go there. They seem miserable and not appreciate of your business at all. Please do something about these two. read more

The coffee is too hot. It's stupid. I let it sit for 10 minutes and still burned my tongue. By the time it's ready to drink, you're done with your food. McDonald's got fined for having coffee this hot. If I get burned again, Makeb's will be next. The bagels are really good though. read more

I love coming here. They've completely replaced Brooklyn Water Bagel for me. The staff is usually nice, but whatever, I'm there for the food. The bagels are great, but lately, I've been going with a Reuben sandwich, which kind of blows away every other Reuben I've had. Their home fries are the real deal, and their iced coffee also does the trick (you make it yourself with free refills). This place is the definition of a gem. The Mick Jagger aka #112 was the biggest dissapointment. The take out menue reads as follows: MICK JAGGER Corned beef, pastrami, turkey, cole slow, russian dressing on rye bread. It was to be a sandwich. They made it a club. It had three layers of rye bread. It was missing the pastramy and had one small thin piece of turkey and one thin slice of what they think is corned beef. Each layer had a sprinkling of coleslaw and a hint of Russian dressing. The rediculously small amount of coleslaw on the one slice of meat on each layer resembled a small quantity of confetti. Cheap out on the meat and cheat me out of my pastramy but cabbage is cheap. I don't understand. A dry sponge would be more moist than this sandwich. Now the fruit salad. I was given an order number. I noticed an order was placed on the counter that looked like it could be mine, but he didn't call out a number. After awhile I walked over and asked if it was my order number. It was. I asked for the missing fruit salad. He pointed to a metal container of ice in water with sodas and fruit salads floating in it. I began bogging for fruit salad. I tried to find the least water logged one. I have a sore throat a day later. Probably from the contamianted water in the tasteless water logged fruit salad. Food is edible, every time I've ordered from here they mess up the order, this time I tried going in person they still got it wrong. They have this hood rat working there total miss attitude, ill mannered. She was poking fun at me because I didn't hear them call out my order. I was standing in front of them waiting for my togo order and instead of saying " hey you" no she decides to get on the load speaker. It was uncalled for and when I mentioned I was the only person waiting for my order, standing right in front of you, why didn't you just get my attention. She proceeds to argue with me. I love this place I have no idea how it has 3 stars. You don't go to a place like this expecting some fancy experience, it's a breakfast deli, Jewish style bagel joint. Very great value, a good breakfast sandwich, polite staff, good coffee, fast service, and hits the spot every time. I order lunch from here 2-3 times per week. The bagels are baked freshly and are always delicious. The employees always remember us when we call to order. The delivery girls are always polite and delivery time is usually less than 30 minutes since it is quite close to my place of employment. I usually order the #74 which is a tuna melt and your choice of bread with fries. My favorite is the everything bagel. Another great deal is that they serve breakfast all day so when I don't feel like a tuna melt, I order a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a sesame bagel which is delicious. This place has been here for years and I decided to stop in since I was in the area today. The menu has a lot of choices and each of the gourmet sandwiches are named after movie stars. How creative is that! Along with a Mango mania smoothie, I settled for the Barbara Streisand Sandwich, which was turkey breast, honey mustard, and melted Swiss cheese on a sub roll. It even came with a side of potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, or house salad. The sub was huge and I couldn't finish it all. However, the smoothie was a little too sweet for my liking and the items were kind of overpriced. I guess it weighs out since they have an area with couches and a TV to watch for entertainment. I much prefer the downtown location, but this one is closer to my house. We only go in for bagels on Saturdays and I always order what I lovingly dubbed the Kosher Delight: asiago bagel, plain cream cheese, and bacon. I also always ask for a cold bagel-- not toasted, not heated up-- because when they do heat it, the pound of cream cheese they give you inside each bagel just slides off the bagel and down your arm. However, despite this seemingly easy request, my bagel ALWAYS comes hot. The guys downtown get it right, so I have no idea what's going on here. But hey, overall it's a bagel. A little tough to understand the folks with Spanish accents but still quality food and always consistent. The bagels and breakfast here are always the same and just phenomenal! They've messed my order up once in 7 months I've religiously went here and it was immediately changed and I was given a side of potatoes. I will keep coming back til they stop serving or they burn to the ground... It's amazing how impatient and how disrespectful folks are to these young people working at the counter here. A big plus... the bagels are much better than the other local bagel joint, Einsteins. The cashiers are friendly BUT verbally double check your order before you pay. Also - the people prepping the order are just as friendly and attentive. Only 4 stars as the "order & pick-up" area DO NOT FLOW. At first glance, it appears that it should flow but they need to figure a way to make it work like any other "order & pick-up" place. Some/most people are awkwardly waiting for their order ... or do not know where the line begins .. or where the line ends. But overall good BAGEL experience. read more

I went in today for lunch and it was really good! The employees were fairly nice and the food was good. It didn't take long either. There were a good bit of people in there and take out orders, as well, but my order was made quickly and it was good! The price was great, too! I got a blended iced coffee and it was really good! I've been meaning to write this review for months - I've never been into Makeb's but I owe them a big thank you! My 90-year old, car-less grandma was sad because she couldn't take a bus anywhere that made good chicken soup like the New York delis she remembers. I called Makebs and sent her a soup delivery, and she was over the moon about it! The soup was exactly what she needed - it was delicious and the staff at Makeb's was friendly and efficient in helping me arrange a takeout delivery from Massachusetts (where I am.) I sent her several bowls and she ate one and froze the others so she can have the happiness of having them several more times, after which she plans to place an order of her own so she'll never be without chicken soup again :) I'll definitely be visiting you in person the next time I'm visiting her in FL! I have lived in downtown west palm for 4 years and this is the closest and fasted breakfast spot. After today I will no longer eat here. We have said this several times but today it the day. THe girl who answers the phone and takes orders is EXTREMELY rude. I never right reviews but no other way to voice my opinion since she hung up on me. This place is not a Jewish deli. Maybe it was at one time, but the pastrami sandwich was like a big grill cheese sandwich with melted cheese and cold slaw on the sandwich. And some kind of sauce on the sandwich. Next time I'll go where I know they know how to prepare a Real Jewish pastrami sandwich. It was horrible, with french fries. I have been eating @ Makebs for a number of years for great breakfast sandwiches, salads and bagels! I recognize mistakes get made but 2x on the same sandwich order and not enough customer service savvy to even acknowledge or apologize. I had to speak to them about the poor manners in which the transaction was handled. For the extra 20 -30 minutes it took from my lunch hour to have to come back to the restaurant to exchange and wait again for another incorrectly fulfilled order they could have not only apologized but graciously comped a cookie or bag of chips for the utter inconvenience of the whole event. Ordered lunch at work with a coworker. 2 sandwiches & 2 drinks. Took over an hour to get delivered. My chicken salad club was made on stale, untoasted bread. It was too big (tall) to bite into. Tomato on it seemed very mushy (possibly rotten). The whole thing had a very sweet flavor to it because of the unusual cole slaw and russian dressing combo. The bacon was the only saving grace. I would've rather had a classic style club sandwich instead of whatever this was supposed to be. As my first impression of Makeb's, I wouldn't order again. I go here often, breakfast is usually good. I will not be back after my last experience. I requested well done bacon, bacon was not well done upon receiving. I requested another sandwich with well done bacon, they then took my sandwich that I had already touched, put it back on the grill and gave my a sandwich with burnt bacon mushed together. Sandwich was not edible at all. They did not offer to make me anything else, no sympathy by anyone what so ever.
