BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. I would recommend this worker center to anyone and also wish I'd known about…read moreit sooner! I used the NICE worker center for a punch list of furniture removal and handy work around my apartment last week - I need to dismantle and remove a large wooden storage closet, mount a tv, hang several (heavy, glass) pieces and install/move shelving, move some items, etc. There were a variety of jobs, each of which was completed professionally, quickly, and with real care for the quality of the results. Two workers came and negotiated a very fair price (so "fair" that I actually upped their compensation by the end of the day) and they committed to the entire list, which they finished despite unforeseen challenges with hardware, equipment, and really difficult installation spaces in my apartment. They had tools and were really creative about finding workarounds where necessary. My apartment is also in an old, slanted building on a high floor (walk up) and they took a ton of time to make sure that everything was both level and attractive. The two men (Miguel and Edgar) were really wonderful - I think Miguel can fix/make/install anything. They took obvious pride in heir work but also offered me a lot of comfort that a job was being well done - even better than I had expected. They were prompt, consummate professionals, and incredibly helpful. And they worked really hard, completing the entire agreed list even though it took far longer than any of us expected. Can't recommend these guys enough.

They used to have a senior housing expert at the 62nd Drive location who was professional and…read morecompetent but he resigned and moved to California. Since then (Dec 2023) it has declined. My SCRIE took almost 6 months into 2024 to get renewed and the handling of my efforts to get a rent redetermination have so far been a complete failure. They do not always keep appointments so call before you go there. I had an appointment for help with my SNAP at the Pomonack Senior center on Kissena Blvd and the guy, Francisco, didn't even show up for it.

In terms of a non-profit, it's hard not to get behind the initiatives of Queens Community House…read more(QCH). They have a number of locations throughout the borough, but this Forest Hills location is among their busiest. It's been under some much needed renovation as of this summer and will hopefully be an even better facility for the community. While their mission to help enrich the greater Queens community has always been at the forefront, their work during the pandemic has been especially noble: they provided and partnered with local businesses to help distribute meals to those in need, provided aid to the homeless, and services for new immigrants. There's a lot more that they've done that I've missed, but that's just some of the ways they're doing good for all. I used to think this was like a local YMCA or children's center, but they really help individuals of all ages. In addition to childcare, they also have programs for teens and adults, and programming to help empower folks in the workforce. In addition, they have programs for after-school activities, LGBTQ youth, free English classes, and venue space for those who are looking to host for special occasions. They're always looking for new volunteers and for families / individuals in need of aid / assistance.

My experience is mixed. I took my daughters dog and my dog to the ASPCA to get some cysts removed…read more They said they didn't do it and suggested another non profit, this place. We took Thor in last year around end of May. I couldn't get an appointment for my dog on the same day so they gave me an app for the next day. I asked if they could do the surgery on both dogs the same day so I don't have to take another day off. They said the couldn't. The day I took my daughters dog for a consult. They gave me an estimate. I explained what I wanted and what I didn't want done. They gave me a surgery date for a week later. The next day that I toook my dog, Kai, they charged us for the consult and said they would get back to us with a quote and a surgery date. The day of my daughters dogs surgery went well. He had a huge skin tag on his back paw that was starting to impede his walking. He had it done. We picked him up and he's been great. My daughter paid the bill and when I looked they charged her for the things I said we didn't want. Then a week later I reached out by text asking about my dogs quote and a refund for the amount that shouldn't have been charged on my daughters dog. This went on every week to every two weeks of the back and forth. Finally in December I said that My dogs cyst is getting too big and I need to know if they are gonna do it and when were they going to refund my daughter. They responded that his cyst got too big now. Which it wasn't when I originally took him. Ok fine. I get that but why do I have to wait for a refund for so long. It's gonna be a year now and still no refund. I have the texts as well as the copy of the bill that she was overcharged. I am thankful for what they did to Thor because he can finally walk without blessing but the rest is just so unprofessional and illegal to hold money that isn't theirs.

The entire staff was incredible from the doctor to the receptionist and everyone in between. They really care about the animals they treat and were sensitive to my anxiety as well.
