They were super thin to begin with, and with age they had started to thin out even more. They were so thin, they disappeared in photos . Anyways, she helped me pick out color that would complement my ever changing hair color. The process it self isn't completely painless. She uses numbing creams on your brows so it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo, but you do still feel the tools slightly on your skin. (A little) pain is beauty, right? Keep in mind your skin and your skin care routine can really impact how long it will take your brows to fade. You should expect to come in once a year for an annual touch up. Immediately after after a visit you'll need to avoid getting water on your brows for a day, and then avoid being in direct sunlight and sweating (I avoided taking cardio) for about a week for the ink to set. This is the same with tattoos (which I have a few of so I was prepared for this). Your brows will look darker than expected due to scabbing but your real brows will be revealed by the end of the week! One last thing to be prepared for: funny looks from people when your skin starts to heal and peel One patch of skin on my right brow which for no good reason just does not hold ink. It fades super quick compared to the rest which stays and fades consistently over a year, but this one spot just refuses to keep ink! Amy has been super helpful and nice in doing extra sessions to try going over that spot a bit extra. It's definitely easy enough to fill in this one spot with makeup but wanted to mention since Amy has done everything to to try to help it, but it's clearly an issue with that patch of skin. For you people who hate calling to make appointments, you can schedule online and even text her direct (I've sent photos of my brows this way) and she's super quick (within 24 hours) in responding!

The store is bright and clean. the lash area is very open - you are not in a private room so everyone can hear / see everyone. my service was with taja and she was very sweet and gentle. she asked me if i wanted more dramatic or natural and i said dramatic. so far I think the results look amazing!! I sometimes felt the extensions done elsewhere were sometimes inconsistent in application and would look a bit heavy on me. Additionally, I was driving to Old Town when I live in the city and would often battle additional traffic as well as parking issues. So when I saw the fabulous reviews for Dupont Lash I decided to give them a shot. First, I was so pleased with how easy it was to book and that I was able to find availability the same week. That was challenging at the last place I went because there was only 1-2 lash techs. When I met Sara, she was so helpful in asking me what look I was going for. I showed her my past applications that were my absolute favorite as well and sharing with her the overall look I was going for. She understood the assignment immediately and nailed in on the first time. When I came back the second time I just wanted as very slight modification, and once again she executed it perfectly. (And she is so lovely!) Additionally, my lashes seem to stay on some much longer. Although I typically do a two week fill, my two week mark usually still looks so fresh and so good! Story time! My lashes initially done in Jacksonville, FL and then at another salon in DC since…read moremoving here in January. While I've had lash extensions since November, not once did any of the techs at the other salons tell me the extension length I wanted was WAY too long for my natural lashes to support. I was having to spend tons of money each week to get a fill because my natural lashes just couldn't support the weight. Still being a newbie to extensions, I knew something didn't seem quite right with my current extensions but I just didn't know for sure. I decided to switch salons and booked a "fill from another salon" and was told to text photos of my current lashes to the Art of Lash. Within 10 minutes, Malin called me to discuss my current lashes and the possibility that they won't be able to fill on them. She suggested we re-book as a removal and full set (which is precisely what we did). When I arrived to Art of Lash for my consultation and (possible) fill, Christina sat down with me and completed a consultation before looking to the damage that had been done by other places. This is the first time I've had anyone really take me through the steps and ask me what I was looking for. She provided pictures of different shapes and before/afters of people to show the results. When I finally laid down and Christina saw my lashes, she was pretty upset. She said there was 1) WAY too much glue 2) way too much length (only 30% of your lash length max, mine were more than 50%), and then 3) multiple extensions glued together- meaning there was twice the amount of weight per lash. NO WONDER WHY I HAD SUCH A HIGH TURNOVER RATE!!! My lashes simply couldn't support the extension that were incorrectly and unskillfully applied by other salons. Of course this meant Christina had to remove my old extensions and then apply a full new set. Yes, it was a lengthy process (especially if you're not someone who can fall asleep aka me), but it was SO SO worth it. My lashes look amazing now and are much healthier with a normal turnover rate. When the appointment concluded, Christina was super helpful in giving me aftercare instructions, recommending a cleanser, and recommending I use a lash serum (since I like length & the extensions from before damaged my natural lashes). At the other two salons before this one, I was NEVER told how to clean and care for my lash extensions so this was so incredibly refreshing. Yesterday, I had my first 2 week fill. This was the first time since November I have been able to retain lashes this long and not look like a crazy person. Christina informed me my lashes were growing back in pretty well & my retention rate was awesome. Amazing what can happen when the proper length is used and care instructions are given! Art of Lash has changed my world! Moral of the story: if you're looking at reviews on here to make an informed decision, you've found your lash place. Don't risk your lash health just for cheaper prices elsewhere because this salon is 110% worth the cost. Christina is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and an overall kind person. The salon is gorgeous and has wonderful aftercare products for sale as well! You won't regret getting your lashes done here!
