We contacted Surfco just before Thanksgiving to help us assess and repair the damage caused by our…read morewasher flooding part of our home. From the beginning they seemed to not want to answer many of our questions and aggressively pusged us to let them start right away. Once we agreed to what they recommended they began work and we began to have more than a few issues. A different person came out each day to check on the loud machines that were running 24/7 in our home and they each would tell us something different about the progress. One day we were told it was almost dry and the next day we were told it was still soaking wet. We were told our tile may need to be ripped up due to the reading a supervisor took with the meter they all used that said our tile was soaking wet underneath. When I asked the people who came the next day about the tile they told me that the meter did not work on the tile and would always read as soaking wet no matter what due to the temperature of the tile. This continued on for about 5 days each day bringing contradictions. They finally deemed our house dry, pulled the machines out, and let us know they would send out the repair person to give an estimate and get started sometime in the next week. It took almost two months for the repairs to begin. We had to deal with a 3sqft part of our wall being gone, no baseboards in half of our house, said baseboards being piled and stored in various places in our living room and garage, and one of our doors that leads to our garage not having a frame which made it very difficult to keep our house the correct temperature. Once repairs finally began they were not what was promised. We were told the baseboards would be picked up, taken to their work space, professionally spray painted and repaired before being put back. When we arrived home and our baseboard were back on it took only a glance to see brush marks on them. We were told plastic would be put down to protect our floors while they were in our home working, but our dark floors still have bright white caulk and paint on them that we will now have to clean off. When the caulk was applied to the baseboards it went up the wall and overall looked very messy. When we asked for this to be fixed, they begrudgingly did so and then proceeded to say that they could only partially fix it "due to the shape the wall was already in." During the removal of the baseboards part of our wall was damaged and we received the same line when we asked them to fix the damage that they had caused. Things in our kitchen (where no damage was being repaired) were broken, which we would not have known if the clean up attempt hadn't been done poorly causing us to find pieces of glass on our floor. One of the holes that they drilled was not covered by the baseboard when they were reinstalled, but it was left that way until we explicitly asked that they fix it. They missed places that needed to be repainted and overall had zero attention to detail causing my husband and I to have to constantly check the work that was done and request fixes. Any time we did this the supervisors would blame the workers they brought in to do the work and say that "they just don't understand English". A supervisor went into parts of our home on the complete opposite side of where they were working and let out one of our dogs. We received a text about this saying that our dog was loose in the master bedroom. We informed them that both of our dogs were closed in the office on the opposite side of the house from the master bedroom. The next day we received another text that let us know they would be "finishing up a few miner things" on Monday and that we needed to make sure our dogs were put up. Our dogs are both friendly, but the one they let out is 70 lbs and is a jumper. She could very easily knock over someone who is not ready for her greeting. Which is why we put them on the opposite side of the house behind closed doors. The dog they let out is also not a quiet dog. If the fact that that side of the house didn't have any evidence of work being done, everything was pushed over to that side to be out of their way, and all the doors on that side were closed and the doors on the side they worked on were open didn't tip him off that he was on the wrong side of the house, the loud whining and barking should have at least made him pause before opening the door and letting her out. Every supervisor we talked to was unprofessional at best and some of them were down right rude. This company then sent us an invoice to sign and when we reviewed it, we noticed that there were multiple line items that we shouldn't have been charged for. The only time this company has shown any form of attention to detail is when they are attempting to point out mistakes in our emails back and forth with them about the mistakes in billing. They made a stressful situation into an absolute nightmare that lasted almost three months. I'd give 0/5 stars if I could.

They tore up our trim and weren't even going to fix it until we complained repeatedly. We have had to do several change orders and I firmly believe we will be left to figure out how to get the workmanship we agreed upon elsewhere. The project manager Chris loves to say he'll take a look and then never gets back to you. We have been left in the dark communication wise from the start, unless we reach out with very specific questions. Just all in all the worst experience I have ever had. I wish after mitigation we had parted ways. This process has been more traumatic than the initial flood.

We later learned the cleaners (the owner is one of them) never showed up, which cost us money and time as we had to reschedule showings and even lost potential buyers. Because we were already out of state, we had to scramble to find someone else to clean on short notice so our realtor could show the house. Despite their no‑show and the financial impact it caused, the owner refused to issue a refund. Despite trying to remove the spam, I still get spam "promotions" from this co all the time which has reminded me of the poor experience. This was a very bad experience I still get reminded of.

My contractor called and said they were good; he'd worked with them a number of times over the years. We expected there to be some dust and minor clean up with a job like this. We did not expect to come home to a space that was destroyed and completely unlivable. When I got home, there was a sea of concrete mud from wall to wall in the basement. Water, sand, grit. Everywhere. All over the floor. Running down the walls. Upstairs, they left concrete splash up the wall clear to the ceiling, in addition to candy wrappers and half-drunk bottles of Gatorade on my kitchen table. They claim to have put up plastic, though there's no telling exactly where since there was crud literally everywhere. I sent photos to my contractor, who said he'd call them. One of their guys showed up with a t-shirt and made half hearted attempts at dry dusting the mess on the wall upstairs. He finally gave up after 5 minutes and walked outside to presumably call his superiors. My contractor showed up not long after, filled a bucket, grabbed a sponge, and took care of the mess. He told me after their guy left that when he called Cutting and Coring to report the mess, they told him "we aren't a cleaning service. " Clearly, they aren't professionals either. If the owner of this company hired a contractor to do work in their home that left their home in as bad a shape as ours, they would have had someone's butt in a sling. They might be super awesome at commercial jobs where no one gives a crap about job site cleanliness, but I would never, ever recommend them for a residential job. Ever.

Jason Yount is an unethical, crooked "contractor" that will lie to you, take advantage of you, manipulate you, and will perform the most inferior quality work. He will also NOT take responsibility for any of the damages he has caused. When we gave him a list of our frustrations with him and the work that he performed, his response to us was "I understand guys. I'm frustrated too." Here are the main issues that we faced: - Both sinks in the kitchen ended up having leaks. TWO different leaks. One of the sinks lead to water damage to the ceiling in the basement. Jason will not accept responsibility and will not pay for the repairs. We tried to file with his insurance but they informed us that general contractors are not liable in the state of Arkansas if a subcontractor performs the work. Jason didn't do any of the remodel work himself. He subbed out every part of the job. We are having an issue filing with the subcontractors insurance as well. We will end up paying out of pocket the thousands of dollars it will take to repair the damage caused by the leak. - We had the kitchen countertops replaced. The subcontractors were Northwest Granite. We aren't exactly sure what happened while they were installing the countertops but their fingerprints will not come off of the granite. The company has sent someone out five different times to try to get the fingerprints out. All we've noticed is that whatever substance created the fingerprints is just being smeared along the countertop as they've tried to scrub off the fingerprints. Two of the times that they came out to address the problem, they left us the chemicals and basically said that we needed to scrub the fingerprints out ourselves. Another kitchen remodeling company told us that it will be impossible to get the substance out because they've ground it so far down into the granite. - We asked for the corbels to be removed from the cabinets. Several pieces of wood from the countertops were broken in the process. Jason refused to take responsibility and would not fix the pieces of wood that were broken in half. A cabinet specialist came out and give us a $300-$500 price tag to fix the cabinet damage. - We were never told that the backsplash was going to be broken in the process of the countertops being replaced. It was a huge shock when I went to look at the progress and saw that the bottom row of backsplash had been beaten in half. In the process, the Sheetrock behind the backsplash was beaten in. The Sheetrock will need to be replaced on the entire wall now. There was ZERO communication warning us that this would happen. - As mentioned above, there was an initial leak in the main kitchen sink that I caught on the very first day that the work was done. Multiple issues came from work that Joe Roseblum with Marine Veteren Plumbing performed. - The work was supposed to start the last week of May but it wasn't actually performed until early August. Jason is TERRIBLE at communicating. You can call or text him multiple times and not receive an answer. Our experience was that he would introduce us to his subcontractors and then leave us to arrange all of the details. The ONLY time Jason stepped in was when I was ready to call the job off due to the material issues, communication issues, and timing issues. - Jason was supposed to be replacing the vent hood. I told him which vent hood model I wanted TWO MONTHS before he even started trying to order it. By the time he got around to ordering the vent hood, the model was on backorder. It is now no longer being sold. - We picked out faucets from Lowe's that we wanted to use on the island sink and main sink. Jason told us that he wouldn't install the ones that we selected because they were cheap and low grade quality (Moen brand). He forced us to select "high end" fixtures from his supplier. - Last but definitely not least is the money. We have never received a final receipt for the work performed. I have no doubt that if he were to read this and give us a final receipt with the breakdown of costs, he would try to get more money out of us. He totally lowballed the estimate. We were told that our budget was $8k for the granite/quartz and that it was a generous budget. The level we ended up selecting was either a high 1 or a low 2 (out of 7). We picked one of the most inexpensive types of granite and still went over budget. I feel like Jason was trying to give us a low initial estimate with a low material budget so that we would end up choosing him over other contractors. Another issue is that the price quoted was for 3 FULL slabs of granite. They definitely didn't use 3 full slabs and we weren't given any remaining granite. Jason lied to us and denied this when we tried to address it with him. DO NOT work with this sleazy, immoral man. We will be reporting the him to the Contractors Board of Arkansas.

They were on time, were set up quickly and it was obvious they knew what they were doing as they heads down working in no time at all. Everyone on the team was extremely polite and courteous. When we get our master bedroom,bathroom and spare bedroom flooring done we we definitely be calling Williams Home Remodeling to come do it.
