These guys are idiots. They give horrible dating advice…read more There was this one time they were talking to a girl who was complaining about how her boyfriend, who apparently she loved, liked karaoke so much and they told her to tell him to do it by himself and that she doesn't want to go anymore. Terrible advice. These 2 guys are assisting in the downfall of the American dating pool which is already really bad. Their hook up or hang up game is also a terrible idea. They had a middle school teacher lady talk with an accountant male. He hung up and they called him a jerk. NO! He just knows his Worth and doesn't want to be with a middle school teacher who isn't making as much as him and as tons of college debt. Absolute idiots.

The morning show has gone down and it has become a sad time to wake up in Austin…read more I listened for nearly a month, with the new lead Booker, to give it a try during my commute into work. Booker is talented of course, but the program has no natural flow and is all force scripted. Alex and Sarah do their best, but it is like they are cornered into a box. It simply feels fake and it does not have the "Austin" feel any longer with JB & Sandy not around...they did not make the whole show, but they added to the local flavor of it. The conversations about local things related to listeners. Now, you can simply take ANY part of the show (or conversation) and play it in ANY city in the nation and it will "fit in" because it is just that generic. As an additional note, the music has gone back about 5-8 years.. maybe they/corporate are trying to win a "demo" group of listeners? Maybe specific national contracts for certain labels has to be played.. I do not know the "inside baseball" stuff, but it definitely feels like someone looked at some metrics and graphics and decided that "this is what is needed to improve the show"... well, that person gets paid too much or they should do their work elsewhere because they are not from the Austin region. The music and the personality does not blend in with Austin any longer. It's a sad fact that for the chemistry and natural flow of a morning show, I prefer to listen to the Bobby Bones show all the way in Nashville, TN on KASE 101 (they were previously in Austin for those who may not know)... also, heaven forbid, I sometimes even listen to Dudley & Bob's morning ego show and the narcissistic types over there (I get it, that is their show and style..just not mine).. at least their humor is not scripted and the banter and razzing is honestly genuine. I gave you a month and it simply is not working out... I don't even wait around anymore to hear Sara's humorous observations or Alex's "keepin it real" opinions. I wish you the best, as you are all talented, but as a morning show... it's NOT something to wake up to and start your day with.

I love that the songs are listed and there's a record of it so I can go back to see the title of songs I enjoyed in the moment. I really appreciate this station I listen to it online, right now dj kroc just talked about how maybe nobody's listening bc I think it's pretty late on the usa and I wanted to leave a review somewhere. I am listening ! and I love it thank you I listen online and I also love looking up the shows afterwards, the best when I don't catch a show live is when they're on mixcloud so I can get the full experience but if not I go to the spotify playlists or just put the songs in the order they're listed in on my spotify. so yeah, thank you kvrx!!! I wish there were college radios in my country I think they're the coolest thing and out of every college radio I've listened to online KVRX is my most favorite

Playing none of the hits, all of the time! This student-run…read moreradio station serves The University of Texas (Go Longhorns!) It seems that they have to share their broadcast with Austin community radio, KOOP. But this station does the student body well- if you're a UT student, you can get on the air if you're interested! They'll train ya, and get you spinnin' vinyl in no time- you don't even need to be a broadcast major or anything! Got some good tunes to share? Sign up! The station is a community non-profit, so there's no advertisements like other stations, just the occasional public service announcement reminding you not to drink bleach or to register to vote. Informative stuff! They sometimes do special programs on this station, that are always interesting. They have an upcoming program on how to do a kickflip. Hard hitting! Ideally, this would be a good station to tune in at work, since you'll rarely hear the same song twice. I always hate listening to muzak or top 40 hits on repeat, which you'll never hear on this station. Tune in, turn on!

Austin gets a full time, full powered oldies station on analog FM as of August 2011. I listen to…read morethe True Oldies portion of the channel which is from midnight to 6 am. My only quams about this station is Saturday Night Dance Fever which plays the exact same songs every Saturday. It is like they have a 3 CD changer and only have 3 Cd's on hand. When Jay Fox was hosting Saturday Night Dance Fever, he played vinyl and at times, let people bring their vinyl to play. Programming includes Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel aired after 12 midnight on the weekdays, and after 1 am on Sundays. Scott Shannon's Cruising America aired Sundays at 8 pm. Bo Chase from 6-10 pm, Jock less until 3 pm then Andi McKay until 7 pm, followed by Tom Kent 7 pm to midnight. Tom Kent is great but I can personally do without the 80s The Point music from their play list. For those of you that don't know what The Point was it was an 100 song 80s pop station that didn't play any R&B or crossover titles from that decade. It was in Conroe, Texas and it was just awful. With the Point lecture aside, Tom Kent does play all 80s on Saturday from 6-11 am, and it is not like the Point, as more variety from that decade is played. On Sundays he plays all 70s which I think more time should be devoted to the 70s from 7-12 pm, would be cool if all 70s were played Sundays from 7 pm to 8 pm followed by Cruising America as Cruising America plays songs from 1955 to 1964 the golden years of Rock and Roll. If I can offer a way to improve the station is except for Saturday mornings keep the 80s music limited to no more than 1 per hour. And have an equal blend of the 60s and the 70s during the weekdays, also the Sunday longer hours of the 70s suggestion please take into consideration. It is my most listened to radio station in Austin ever since Majic pulled the plug on their Super Songs of the 70s weekend last year. My second most listened to radio station would be the new Jammin 103.1, followed by Bob FM for the 9 @ 9 if it is a good year for music that is.

I listened to the station for one whole day and will never listen to the station again. When I listen to the news, I want to hear what is actually happening in the world. I don't want to hear someone's opinion that they pretend is truth. News stations like this is what is wrong with our country!

These days KUT is about the only station I listen to. I love the national NPR programming like All…read moreThings Considered to keep up with news, and there are always fascinating things to hear on other programs like Marketplace and The Hidden Brain, and even brilliant entertainment on the weekends like Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. But KUT also produces local content of their own that's worth hearing. I appreciate the Texas Standard that is recorded locally in cooperation with other major markets and focuses on issues and events around Texas, and the ATX Explains series is always an interesting way of looking in-depth at different quirks of the Austin area that you may have always wondered about. It was a pleasure getting a tour of the station recently and getting to see behind the scenes of their facility that was built about a decade ago to accommodate the growth and provide all the work spaces needed. It's amazing to see all the recording rooms, all the equipment that goes into making every broadcast, and just the sheer size of the news room. And the studio that can hold a small audience for live music broadcasts is brilliant. I may not always agree with every program, and I can wish for some more polish from the announcers over their folksy delivery, but I always find the content interesting and relevant. Outside of those excruciating public radio fund drives, I expect to be listening throughout the future!
