Austin gets a full time, full powered oldies station on analog FM as of August 2011. I listen to…read morethe True Oldies portion of the channel which is from midnight to 6 am. My only quams about this station is Saturday Night Dance Fever which plays the exact same songs every Saturday. It is like they have a 3 CD changer and only have 3 Cd's on hand. When Jay Fox was hosting Saturday Night Dance Fever, he played vinyl and at times, let people bring their vinyl to play. Programming includes Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel aired after 12 midnight on the weekdays, and after 1 am on Sundays. Scott Shannon's Cruising America aired Sundays at 8 pm. Bo Chase from 6-10 pm, Jock less until 3 pm then Andi McKay until 7 pm, followed by Tom Kent 7 pm to midnight. Tom Kent is great but I can personally do without the 80s The Point music from their play list. For those of you that don't know what The Point was it was an 100 song 80s pop station that didn't play any R&B or crossover titles from that decade. It was in Conroe, Texas and it was just awful. With the Point lecture aside, Tom Kent does play all 80s on Saturday from 6-11 am, and it is not like the Point, as more variety from that decade is played. On Sundays he plays all 70s which I think more time should be devoted to the 70s from 7-12 pm, would be cool if all 70s were played Sundays from 7 pm to 8 pm followed by Cruising America as Cruising America plays songs from 1955 to 1964 the golden years of Rock and Roll. If I can offer a way to improve the station is except for Saturday mornings keep the 80s music limited to no more than 1 per hour. And have an equal blend of the 60s and the 70s during the weekdays, also the Sunday longer hours of the 70s suggestion please take into consideration. It is my most listened to radio station in Austin ever since Majic pulled the plug on their Super Songs of the 70s weekend last year. My second most listened to radio station would be the new Jammin 103.1, followed by Bob FM for the 9 @ 9 if it is a good year for music that is.

Terrible advice. These 2 guys are assisting in the downfall of the American dating pool which is already really bad. Their hook up or hang up game is also a terrible idea. They had a middle school teacher lady talk with an accountant male. He hung up and they called him a jerk. NO! Booker is talented of course, but the program has no natural flow and is all force scripted. Alex and Sarah do their best, but it is like they are cornered into a box. It simply feels fake and it does not have the "Austin" feel any longer with JB & Sandy not around...they did not make the whole show, but they added to the local flavor of it. The conversations about local things related to listeners. Now, you can simply take ANY part of the show (or conversation) and play it in ANY city in the nation and it will "fit in" because it is just that generic. As an additional note, the music has gone back about 5-8 years.. maybe they/corporate are trying to win a "demo" group of listeners? Maybe specific national contracts for certain labels has to be played.. I do not know the "inside baseball" stuff, but it definitely feels like someone looked at some metrics and graphics and decided that "this is what is needed to improve the show"... well, that person gets paid too much or they should do their work elsewhere because they are not from the Austin region. The music and the personality does not blend in with Austin any longer. It's a sad fact that for the chemistry and natural flow of a morning show, I prefer to listen to the Bobby Bones show all the way in Nashville, TN on KASE 101 (they were previously in Austin for those who may not know)... also, heaven forbid, I sometimes even listen to Dudley & Bob's morning ego show and the narcissistic types over there (I get it, that is their show and style..just not mine).. at least their humor is not scripted and the banter and razzing is honestly genuine. I gave you a month and it simply is not working out... I don't even wait around anymore to hear Sara's humorous observations or Alex's "keepin it real" opinions. I wish you the best, as you are all talented, but as a morning show... it's NOT something to wake up to and start your day with.

Ron U. (Disco Duck) and Larry E (El Toro Brovo). They are funny as shit and you can chat live with them and request some tunes. I can't name many Tejano bands, but, that's where Google comes in. I've just recently discovered that I actually like La Mafia! They're playing it right now!! It's clear that our two Yelpers come here and have a good ass time. Not sure what goes on in the studio but they appear to get drunk or get the munchies (ahem) and cut up and play some really good stuff including occasional disco. Yep disco and other stuff. You don't need to know how to speak Spanish or even Spanglish for that fact to enjoy the broadcast. I love all kinds of music and while living here in Texas I have grown quite fond of Tejano. But, like I said I need Google. Now I have Google and the Disco Duck and wild man Larry E. I love listening to their shows and try to catch them on their usual Friday afternoons. I finally had to switch over to Sirius XM for my morning drive. Although Deb could be annoying, she was at least marginally entertaining. And losing Jason Dick, what a shame. Him and CJ had a great back and forth. Emily....my lord and bless her heart, she seems like a lovely person but she's as entertaining as watching (listening to??) paint dry. I'll pop in to 101X now and again in the future to see if it's improved any and I hope it does. Seems like we've witnessed the death knell of 101X in real time. It sincerely makes me sad.

Pop...y mas!…read more I started listening to 92.5 to escape the inane morning DJ chatter of 101X and KLBJ, and so I didn't fall asleep on the way to work listening to KGSR. My reasoning was that even if 92.5's DJs are annoying, I can only understand a small portion of what they say, so it won't be so bad. Plus, I get to practice my Spanish radio announcer voice. It's getting really good. But their DJs are not annoying at all--no fratboy humor, constant innuendos, or any of that. And they play so much music! Cuarenta minutos sin comerciales cada hora. (40 minutes with no commercials every hour.) The music is good, too. Don't worry--you won't hear the oompa-polka stuff of the Norteno stations. You'll hear lots of Enrique, Shakira, Mana, Cafe Tacuba, Reik, Juanes, y mi amor secreto--Julieta Venegas.

Yay! Spanish language pop and rock music! Stations like this are surprisingly hard to find for…read morethose of us who want to stay up to date on the latest spanish-language pop acts. Only station where you can hear Juanes and Mana, etc, in Austin that I know about. Yeah, they repeat too many songs and they stay too much with the most commercial of songs, but its generally a nice up-to-date mix. I wish there was a spanish language station that would play more rock and alternative music. I was VERY disappointed recently when they changed their call sign and could no longer get reception at my house in the way Southwest. This and 101x are my favorite stations. btw, my mature spanish speaking friends make fun of me because this is the station that their teenagers listen to. SO WHAT! I like it. Sometimes, you really do need to hear another Shakira song.
