For hearty, Levantine pastries from a man from Golan Heights, go to Majdal Bakery, a small shop open Wednesday through Sunday 8am to 4pm. I arrived a few minutes past 8am on a June Saturday. There was no line. Hungry, I ordered the Turkish Egg Safeha, which comes with herby yogurt sauce. It was filling and good! I also got the Tahini, Maple, and Pecan Babka, which was more unassuming than expected. Overall, it was an honor to dine here. They also serve hot and iced coffee and have a few small tables to sit at.

Amazing bakery with a unique selection of pastries and offerings! I got two sweets and two favorites; the two buns (cherry and cardamom) were the top for me. I also got the Za'atar Makdous which had a super flavorful filling. Despite being a far trip for me, I'll gladly make it every time.

Nice interior, and friendly staff willing to answer any questions about the pastries and savories. Some hits, some misses, but glad to have given it a try. Iced Rose Sharab (5/5) - Absolutely delicious, a perfect rose drink. Citrus Poppyseed Basbousa (5/5) - Absolutely wonderful. Packed full of texture and great citrus flavor. My favorite item, I would come back just to get this and the rose sharab. Cinnamon Cardamom Bun (4/5) - Honestly, a bit of a let down, just tasted like a cinnamon bun with cream cheese. Not that that's bad, just didn't taste any cardamom at all, and the pistachio flavor was weak. Potato Fatayer (3/5) - Okay but honestly spiced too much like a sweet dish and a bit mushy. Wouldn't get again. Harissa Squash Safeha (4/5) - Great symphony of flavors (I esp liked the preserved lemon), but the bread was just ok, hard all the way through.

It's so nice to see the business go from pop ups to an actual building establishment! Happy one year! The space is beautiful with a creative and elevated display of sweet and savory pastries. They also have a drink menu. Highly recommend! The man behind the counter was super sweet as well.

No idea why it took me so long but hello to my new favorite bakery and even closer than machine shop Philly or mighty bread in south Philly. These guys sell the best tasting baguette so far in the city at a reasonable price too! Hurry and get your bread before their lines are out the door and around the block. They use just a normal pizza style electric oven ? Not the wood burning style but still I loved my baguette. Last night sliced up and thrown in the iron grill with butter, rosemary, garlic essence-after I took my steaks off. Toasted nicely, press with aioli a d grilled onions and topped with steak. Love their sourdough breads and also all the treats. Enjoyed both hot pockets- cabbage and potato with tzatziki style dip.

Gone here a couple times and the food is always consistent! The staff is patient and are always down to chat about anything on the menu. I love the plants and the clear passion for baking. The prices are reasonable and i Will keep coming back!

This bakery is a wonderful Syrian and Syrian owned bakery in the city! They have delicious pastries and great prices for them. I got one of the labneh Safehas (can't remember exactly which one!) which was pretty good, but the pistachio cardamom bun was absolutely one of the top desserts I've had! They sell a lot of bread as well which smelled so good! Would highly recommend if you're craving middle eastern pastries !

Amazing Syrian bakery! Wide assortments of pastries (both savoury and sweet). The space is rather small for dining so if you want to dine in go there on the earlier side. My daughter lived in Beirut for close to a year and there are many Syrians there also. She said the flavour reminded her of Beirut. We tried different pastries, and seriously, they are all worth trying. I cannot say which one is my favourite because they all tasted so good! We even brought back some pastries home and enjoyed them. Hoping and praying this bakery stays in business a very long time

I saw this place advertised on (yes to the few who read my reviews regularly, you guessed it) TooGoodToGo. While I haven't had the fortune of winning an offering yet, I wanted to try this place real bad because of the ratings on TooGoodToGo, here, and I only know of this Levantine bakery and another pop-up. It is nice to be able to have a piece of a culture I am unfamiliar with and sadly would not feel comfortable traveling to such countries alone or not through a reputable tour company. Wish I could travel more but a place like this is the next best thing. With the prevalence of world events and issues without getting too into it, I feel like more Levantine places are increasing in number because food is a great invisible "language" to connect w others and it just shows how human we all really are. And plus this bakery is just a winner!! The spiced tea has a strong spice flavor that I personally love. Those rose tea has a good strength for me too. For those of you who do not like stronger flavors, maybe stick with something more typical to mainstream US I would guess. I finally talked about the food, lol. The following day, they had an event for making their first pizza ever for the public. The toppings of potato and the type of sausage they used were different than I'd ever had for a pizza but worked well. The tomato slice I had was cold but the sauce was very tasty. I would've preferred it heated but maybe they serve it this way. Yours truly, random food snob trying to stay hydrated.

Thank you. What a surprising treat for breakfast. Savory and sweet options. I got one of each The bread looks amazing. The tahini, pecan, maple babka was delicious. The pastures are expertly made. Super friendly.

My family loved this spot. They got a coffee which was delicious, as well as the rose water drink which was certainly unique. They found the assortment of baked goods to be exciting compared to your average cookie-cutter Starbucks array. Tahini-rye brownies, for example, is not something you see very often! They're excited to go back and try more.

Delicious baked goods! Very friendly and approachable guy at the counter - I think he is the owner of the bakery. I am so glad to have a bakery that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves mouth watering food. We tried the Pistachio Tart, Chocolate Hazelnut Bourbon Babka, Lemon Poppy pie and I would highly recommend getting all of these. My favorite was the Pistachio tart!

A three layered pastry fluffy with silky cream between each layer with a beautiful fondant icing which they called Mille - feuille. No it is not an Italian version it is French through and through.
