Loved it. Quick service. Great tacos. Loved the carnitas and the asada tacos. Only thing I would dock is that the tables were not clean, even when we asked them to be wiped down but we dealt with it. Would come again

Pretty good fresh tacos. Definitely better than Taco Bell. Plenty of dips to go along with any Taco or burrito you get

My mom and I stopped by here for lunch before our show at Eccles. We had the fish tacos and Al Pastor. The fish taco was good and flaked nicely. The sauce they add on top has an almost smoky flavor and it's a bit spicy. The flavor wasn't my favorite for the sauce, so I will opt to not have the sauce next time. The Al Pastor was delicious, but the star of the show is the hand made corn tortillas. They were thick and delicious! They offer a variety of sauces at the sauce counter as well as red onions and jalapeños. The amount of food they pack on to a little street taco is pretty insane! We ordered two tacos each, but would have been satisfied with just one each.

Maize is a great little taco shop! As soon as you walk in, you're engulfed in all things Mexico. I loved the staff. They were so friendly and quick to serve! They also didn't hesitate to make recommendations, which I always appreciate. The tacos were good, but not necessarily the best I've ever had. They were made fresh and tasted as you expect a taco to taste, but I wasn't necessarily wow'd by them either. However, if I'm back in the area and in the mood for tacos, I wouldn't hesitate to give Maize another try.

Found this place on Groupon and so glad we did. We REALLY enjoyed our dinner here. We were the only two there on a Friday night but were so pleased with the freshness and flavor of our tacos. The salsa bar was fully stocked and all full of flavor and amazing spice. The guac was cold and fresh and the street corn was delicious! The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars -- no alcohol and the homemade corn tortillas were under cooked. Overall a cute spot and really friendly, quick service. We would recommend this place for sure!

Super Nachos with pastor and 2 Pastor Tacos

Picked up food from Maize Tacos food truck at SLC Twilight last night and it was just okay. We were compelled to try their best in UT pastor taco. The warm tortilla was nice but the pastor was flavorless. I found myself eating the leftover pineapple pieces than the pastor. After trying these tacos, I would argue that the best al pastor taco I've had is from our local street taco shop in Ogden, Taqueria El Paraiso. The super nachos with pastor were eh as well. Although it was a loaded set of nachos, we didn't care much for the rice or cold shredded cheese. The sauce they put on their nachos was good, but not enough to save the nachos. This meal felt like a filler meal and wasn't super enjoyable to either of us, and for the amount of money we paid for all the food, I'm not sure it was worth it. May try it again another time.

Good tacos, but I've had better. The tacos were very greasy to the point that I kept wiping my fingers each time I picked up a taco. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what I ordered. I asked what was recommended and couldn't quite understand the cashier. I just know I got some tacos. The menu was a bit hard to comprehend, contributing to my confusion of what I had ordered. I appreciated the amount of meat I got in the tacos which were surprisingly, really good. I wasn't a fan of the corn shell tortilla though, that was kind of the deal breaker for me as it tasted pretty dry (maybe that's the nature of using corn?). Didn't particularly like the sauces but the rest of the group seemed to enjoy it. Thought it made it more soggy and greasy than it already was.

I visited Maize at the Soho Food Truck spot in Holladay and was satisfied with my tacos! Though Maize had run out of asada for the evening, I was happy to try the pollo and al pastor options. The chicken was tender and a solid taco--Maize makes fresh, homemade corn tortillas that elevate the level of all their tacos. The al pastor taco, on the other hand, was incredible, one of the best tacos of its kind I've ever had. The pork was well seasoned, the pineapple juicy, and the cilantro brought everything together in a mouth-watering way. I'll have to go back to try an asada taco and get some more al pastor.

Oh goodness!!! The tacos here are so yummy! I got the carnitas, tinga de pollo, and pastor tacos. The elote is AMAZING!! I love this place! Three tacos and elote are way more than enough portion size. Will check this place out again when I'm in town.

I worked downtown for a year and a half, and my coworkers would go to Maize for lunch all the time. I know I'm setting myself up to be attacked, but I don't love tacos. So I never went with them. And now I am kicking myself. (but not because of tacos) We went to use our Female Foodie card deal, and thankfully they had re-opened dine-in after COVID. I got a chicken burrito, and my boyfriend got an assortment of tacos. We also got chips and guac to share, of course. The lady who helped us at the register was super nice. Our food was ready fairly quickly. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The chips were like a small taste of home for me. I had a hard time stopping, but my burrito was massive, so I had to leave a few bites at the end lest I exploded. We both were super impressed with our food, and we definitely want to come back. I want to try a quesadilla. If you're downtown, do yourself a favor and make time for Maize. I wish I had.

I thought this place was okay. Not delicious. Not disgusting. Just okay. (Let's just say, I've had way better.) Personally, I thought the meat was kind of bland, which was really disappointing, considering how good everything smelled. However, it was tender and juicy. (Having said that, my hubby liked his tacos, so that's a plus!)

I couldn't skip taco Tuesday, even during this crazy time of being in quarantine and I'm so darn glad that I chose Maize this week. I had heard about it though a friend and had it bookmarked for a few weeks before getting around to actually trying it. I can't say much about the place itself since I did curbside pickup but the service was great! I got two Carne Asada tacos and I was a big fan. There was lots of meat, a generous amount of guac and the tortillas were nice and thick. Some of the reviews mentioned price being a concern but I felt it was reasonably priced for what I got and they've got daily specials that they post frequently if you follow them on social media. This is a fun spot and definitely worth trying out!

Food truck review! Found at SoHo. If you're debating on tacos from say, taqueria 27 or Maize, choose MAIZE! We ordered: Loaded nachos with shrimp and steak; So good! Chips were thick and crunchy, steak is seasoned and cooked perfectly, shrimp has a Smokey grilled flavor, no to much cheese (I hate cheese overload), the only room for improvement is a scoop of guacamole would have been nice, and a little more everything. Hefty price for what you get, but delish. Please note: The tortillas are house made, and thick, and so delicious!! My favorite!!! Al pastor tacos; perfectly cooked and seasoned! Delicious! Shrimp tacos; so good! I'm telling you, the grilled smoke flavor is so on point. Only down fall, what there was only like two shrimp in my taco. Boo! Steak tacos; the steak is amazing. They cut it small, so it's not chewy, it's tender and full of flavor. Mahi fish tacos: So dang good! Not dry. Loved them Chicken tacos; these are shredded, and while the flavor was decent, they were a tad dry, but I still like them, my husband not so much. Our first time, and for sure not our last!

Santo Taco USED to be the well-priced value spot for authentic Mexican food..Not anymore…read more And I'm just not that into what they call a birria taco around here..Too much meat, not enough cheese, and to be true "quesabirria"-style they need to be griddled much more (like Del Barrio does). Plus their consommé was a too bitter for my liking. Al pastor here is the much better option - greasy, saucy, tender and flavorful chunks of pork. But these are average sized street tacos, not worth the $4.00-4.50 per price tag. I also tried their asada steak fries, one of the worst I've ever had. Fries were swimming in waay too much cheap, nasty Velveeta-style cheese, NO GUACAMOLE, and not nearly enough asada meat.***It's hard to believe, but an order of these has nearly quadrupled in price in 6 short years, up from $4 to one of the higher prices in town at $15!! But do keep in mind, an $8 half order is more than enough for one person. Salsa bar here is decent but lacked on salsa options, no creamy green or orange salsas here. They wouldn't even grill me onions when I asked, he instead pointed me down to the salsa bar, where raw onions were diced, unrinsed and very pungent, gag. They do have daily specials that help some with prices. Sunday wasn't even on their list and ended up being 3x birria tacos for $10. So the counter service was friendly enough but not very accommodating. Ease of communication was only so-so. The dining room is small, order in back by the soda machine. Atmosphere is more modern than your average hole in the wall taqueria, complete with photo op for the Gram. I was super annoyed that they only have tall bar height tables. And the speaker blasting music was too loud according to my kiddos. I usually agree with Guy Fieri on his picks, but I just can't do it with Santo Taco.

Absolutely delicious!…read more I got a BOGO free burrito coupon from their FB feed, so why not? So glad I did! I had the spicy green chili burrito--delicious! Smothered inside and out with their very fine green chili. The tortillas seem homemade, it was fresh and good. My wife had the carne asada burrito. I got a bite of it and the beef is delicious! Such good flavors. I also had the pinto beans and rice, both are very good. The horchata, made with almond milk, was creamy and just the right amount of cinnamon and sweet. They serve flour and corn tortilla chips with three salsas. The chips were excellent. The flour chips are deep fried, really good. The red salsa was the hottest but not bad for heat. The green was good. Now the crema sauce was my favorite, it is really excellent. Nice restaurant, comfortable chairs, nice decor that goes along with their theme. Looks like a comfortable bar. Service was friendly and accommodating. I would like to eat here again and take advantage of the FB coupon for their tacos. Highly recommended! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. Tiny tacos with subpar meat filled with the sort of gristle you won't enjoy. For $15 I felt ripped off. The burrito was mostly bright orange rice, not the usual light red rice an abuela makes, filled with half melted cheese, and what appears to be canned beans with a sprinkle of that ghastly meat. Not sure what the hype is about but this place is substandard at best. If you're hungry with no options it's better than nothing but really not worth your money at $5 a taco.
