The bed was comfortable & the bathroom was huge, with a ton of character, Eileen even ironed my dress for me.

We went sightseeing at the covered bridge, wine tasting at Warm Springs and enjoyed ice cream at Fitzgerald Farms. It was a peaceful evening rocking on the beautiful front porch and enjoyed waking up to blueberry muffins, yogurt, orange juice, fruit and coffee. We will definitely stay here again for a peaceful night away!

I was traveling with my 9 y/o daughter from CA and was concerned about staying at the local hotel due to some concerning reviews. When I shared this with Jenny on the phone, she said, "I'll take care of you guys" with Southern charm and made me feel so comfortable that I booked our week-long accommodation on the spot! Everything was perfect! The Cottonmill Suite was so lovely - spotless, the bed was comfortable, we had AC, flatscreen tv and more than enough space to relax and unwind! Every morning we were spoiled with a yummy breakfast, with eggs from their local farm (which my daughter got to visit), pancakes, bacon....and the works! Every afternoon, there were free goodies available....including banana bread & brownies! On Friday night, we enjoyed a candlelight dinner, with dessert brought up to our room. Jenny & Teddy (and all the workers) were so great! Every need and request was met with a smile and "yes, ma'am." Hands down, this is the place to stay when you're in the area. Thank you, Jenny, for sharing your B&B with us!

We only had very general ideas about our destination each day, so nothing was booked in advance. I'd generally go online to book something only hours in advance of our arrival. Such was the case when we arrived at Hogan House at Rose Hill. Poor Linda didn't even know we were arriving and she was clearly ready for some alone time with a glass of wine, but she was ever so gracious in showing us around the house and even upgraded our room for us. Most amazingly, she asked if we had any food restrictions for breakfast the next morning and barely blinked an eye when I told her that I eat anything, but my husband is vegan. Although out of her comfort zone, Linda not only stepped up to the challenge, she delivered! She even made separate dishes for each of us even though told her that was unnecessary (after all, **I** don't make two meals at home!) A lovely setting, with a lovely host and lovely conversation - definitely recommend!

This home is exquisite! I particularly liked entering from the back porch side and being greeted as it immediately gave the mind-set of, "Welcome." And soon after, "Welcome Home." The grounds gardens are an English garden oasis in this Midtown section. The property sits far enough off of Piedmont so that the city noise and traffic is hardly noticeable, yet you are only a couple of blocks from the park and some great restaurants. Everything is wonderful, from the gardens to the architecture and modern upgrades (our shower with ceiling and side wall heads), pasties, snacks, soft drinks at the ready, down to the smaller details like triple sheet bedding and French coffee pressed morning brew. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our host, Judy, was very personable and we connected with her immediately, especially in discussing our shared faith. The porches are spacious, quiet, and if desired, heated. Breakfast is served at a community style table, which also turned out to be pleasant, simply because the type of patron to this particular sort of inn (Select Registry) must have something in common! In fact, a young couple also staying here unexpectedly showed up at a folk concert we also attended in Kennesaw (25-30 miles North) at a community Church. I believe there are eight rooms in the main house, each with a private and spacious bathroom. Personal entry codes are provided and activated during your stay. We had an absolutely lovely time and will be back!

We stayed I. The Southern Living Suite (king). Our room was equipped with flat screen tv, en-suite/ Jacuzzi bathtub, good size walk-in shower, a walk-in closet, compliments toiletries, in-room coffee, mini-refrigerator, plush bathrobes and slippers. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast by their chef. We were served fruit parfait, then shrimp and grits. Prior to checking in I filled out a survey with my food allergies. I have a food allergy so I could not eat pork sausage which is normally served with shrimp and grits. The chef was great and substituted the pork sausage. We had looked at several houses and I making what seemed like the forever drive back home. My husband suggested rather than drive straight through that I stop for the night around Atlanta so he made a reservation here for me. We went with a B&B as the previous nights we had stayed in hotels around different areas of Kentucky, each one had advertised "hot breakfasts", but were barely that so we always ended up eating somewhere else. I am so happy that we stayed here!! There was one room left, the Southern Retreat, which was actually more than we needed but I think my husband wanted to make sure that we had a good place to stay and I'm glad he chose it. We were texted by one of the owners (it's owned by a couple) along the way confirming our reservation, giving us the address, and letting us know that they would be waiting for us since we would be a later check-in. When we arrived, Marvin met us at the car. My son insisted on getting our luggage so any offer of help was refused LOL. Anita came down from the house and brought us to our room, which we did not have to access from the house as it was a separate entrance in the back. Both Marvin and Anita were so very friendly. Anita showed us around our apartment which was amazing. It was a one bedroom, there was a sitting area when you first walk in, a living room area with a pull out sofa couch that she already had made up as a bed for my son, a game room with a pool table, a kitchen dining room area that had snacks, water in the refrigerator and was complete with a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, tea, and some other drinks, and then a decent size bathroom. She then brought us up to the main house to show us where breakfast would be in the morning (they have their own chef), then showed us a area that she keeps open 24 hours which has snacks and drinks available for the guests which made my son very happy since he thought it was all for him. She gave us directions to some restaurants on my son and I headed out, brought our food back, played a little bit of pool and then went to bed as it was a very long day. The next morning we got up and got it ready and then went up to breakfast. The chef did not disappoint! The chef first brought out berries in a whipped cream over a type of cake that was sooo yummy! Then, the main breakfast that morning was scrambled eggs, French toast (which was some of the best French toast I ever had and my son was in heaven), bacon, sausage, and a breakfast potato hash of some type that was amazing. I am not a potato person but if I wasn't stuffed trying to eat everything I would've licked this off of my plate, it was that delicious. After breakfast we got everything all packed up but I let my son go out into the back to play for a bit. The house is on a lake that they own and they have a paddle boat and fishing available, There is a beautiful gazebo available outside for weddings and a smaller one right on the water to just sit and relax. Marvin was outside so he brought some fish food out and he and my son were feeding the fish while another couple that were there took the paddleboat out. There was an old "wishing well" there, so I got some change and my son and I made our wishes. When I told my son it was time to leave he literally cried and begged to stay another day. If we didn't have to be back for a prior engagement the next day, we would have. We are definitely planning on going back with my husband. He said he can't wait to go there and check it out. If you like bed-and-breakfast or if you want to try one for the first time, this is the one to go to. Marvin and Anita are two of the most wonderful hosts I have met and their home is beautiful. The best part is my wish at the wishing well came true. I wished that we would be able to find a house that would be perfect for our family. I flew back up to Kentucky the following weekend and we now have a contract on the perfect home. Thank you Marvin and Anita!
