The receptionist is very polite and displayed patience, and professionalism she even felt the bad and rude energy. I had to give a star rating but if I could, I would not give any stars by the way I have been treated, I would never go back to this practice or recommend anyone. I understand people may have bad days but when you provide a service you should stand on excellence. I am very surprised due to Dr. Ploucha is very big on good ratings and our interaction in the past has been great. I really hope he works on a better attitude. A smile and positive energy go a long way you never know how it can make someone's day especially in the health field.

I've been to many chiropractors, and this place is a scam. Ploucha was trying to scare me into…read morethinking I had major problems and was recommending that I do a $1500-2000 course of treatment. I'm a medical student and generally healthy, so I know I don't have a lot of issues and just how he described the spine/nervous system was completely wrong. Ploucha was also strangely claiming that I have to pay a lot of it out of pocket because my insurance benefits weren't as good as they actually are. What's worse is that sessions are extremely rushed, and 15 out of the 20/30 minutes is just lying down on a massage chair. Manipulations were 5 minutes max, and were really simple things I can do on my own. He takes x-rays for the sessions, which I'm pretty sure is so that he can bill you/your insurance for more services. Healthcare professionals don't take x-rays unless theres a reason to do so, and Ploucha is indiscriminately exposing his patients to unnecessary radiation. I told him I won't be going to his practice, but he called a few months after to try to get me in for a session. I think he forgot that I wasn't happy with my experience, and was trying to get more money out of me. Based on how rushed his sessions are and how he just puts his patients on massage chairs, he is definitely a businessman (and a scam artist) more than a provider. Edit in response to Ploucha on Google reviews: Read the unfavorable reviews, and they describe the same exact issues I had (rushed sessions, false diagnoses, false information, overly long and expensive treatment plans). STAY CLEAR FROM THIS BUSINESS.

I came to Squirrel Hill Chiropractic in agony on my first visit because moving is hard work and I had overdone it. During my initial appointment, Dr. Kathleen O'Connell and her staff took a detailed history and did a thorough exam. Initial adjustments were done carefully and gradually. Heat, vibration, and topical analgesics are used to help decrease discomfort and let the body ease back into alignment. I appreciate this approach because I carry a lot of tension and have scar tissue that makes more aggressive adjustments miserable. I've always been able to get an appointment--even on the same day. The doctors O'Connell are clearly dedicated to improving their patients quality of life. I hope that you don't have need of their services, but don't hesitate to call if you do.

Until I went…read moreto McCauley Family Chiropractic I felt like all others did both a cookie-cutter assessment and follow up treatment. With Mark, I can tell he is actively assessing me as he adjusts and he is the only chiropractor I have seen who has offered lasting relief. I initially saw him due to numbness down one arm into my hand which he was able to resolve within the first few sessions; it has never returned (it's been ~2 years). However my real issue is chronic lower back pain which varies in its intensity for several years. The pain ranges and baseline I have mild discomfort but can be completely debilitating for about 3 days with extreme pain and difficulty moving. And while it may never fully resolve due to the degenerative nature of my diagnosis and my personal lifestyle habits/patterns I'm working on changing, I now have long periods between the completely debilitating bouts. And when I do tweak my back in a way that I know will progress to a major issue, he accommodates me the same day whether I call or just walk-in. I also have to praise the atmosphere; since it's family run I feel right at home there too. It's a comforting and personal environment rather than a more clinical or sterile one. I love it and highly recommend!

Dr Graham adjusted me, and I did leave in less pain than when I went in so that was perfect. I thought this is great! Second appt was the following week. Went over xrays talked about the treatment plan. They wanted me to commit to 4 or 6 weeks can't remember which. I committed to 2 and then we could see where we were at. I was told they were working with insurance and that my deductible was met and that my copay would be $15 a visit. I agreed and signed all the paperwork. Was adjusted and went home again feeling better than when I went in so definitely a win. I went back 3 more times that week. Now here why I'm unhappy. The following week my first of the 3 appt for that week was on a wed but Monday morning when my pain was so bad I called and they were able to get me right in. My pain was at an 8 and I was definitely hurting. As I'm waiting to be adjusted the lady that deals with insurance comes to tell me that insurance didn't approve the first few visits and that I'll be responsible for the times I came in before it was approved. $55 a visit. I heard what she was saying but I was hurting so bad I couldn't think. I was adjusted and left. Again my pain was better after leaving. This is why I left the 3 stars. After coming home and talking it over with the hubby I had to call the 2 friends I had recommended him to, one of whom I had just given the coupon for free xrays, and explain that now I had an almost $200 bill! After having a deductible that was met. I called this morning and and was met with I'm sorry, and that the pre authorization hasn't gone through. I understand that these things happen but a conversation should have taken place explaining the pre authorization and that if it didn't go through before the visits I'd be responsible for the $55 office visits. (also other chiropractors I've been to in the area are $40) So I canceled the rest of the appointments and will be looking for a new chiropractor that doesn't hit me with a big bill after saying it would be $15 a visit.
