The Harbor They Fall…read more 1.6-mile out-and-back trail that outline the City of Belfast's picturesque harbor. The Good: *Very easy flat trail that's good for everyone, even kids. *Dog-friendly *Free! *Restrooms (see trail map for locations) *Adjacent to lots of food and shopping, if that's your jam. *You can connect to the Belfast Rail Trail to make it an even longer walk. *Picturesque views of the harbor, bay, and a working shipyard The Meh: *The trail is almost too easy and flat. You'll get your steps but not your cardio. The Ugly: *Parking can be a bit difficult during certain days and seasons, but not impossible. Conclusion: Fantastic trail with great views and a must-see if you're visiting Belfast, Maine.

You can find the Belfast Harbor Walk at Front St, Belfast, ME 04915 - it basically extends from the…read moreBelfast Armistice Bridge along the shoreline to Heritage Park in the East. There's a small lot where you can park right at the Bridge, which allows for foot traffic across the Passagassawakeag River. If you park at that end, there's a portapotty conveniently located by the lot. We parked, crossed the river to get in sights of the river, then moved to the West across the Belfast Rail Trail - you're rewarded at the end with a small station, caboose and a car or two before turning around. Returning and going the other direction takes you into Belfast where you can experience a small New England town that's been there pretty much longer than the US has been around - the area is hilly which makes for some neat adjustments to the architecture - along Belfast Harbor are massive boat lifts and boats/ships of all sizes that are being worked on by the local marine establishments - this is an active harbor with lots to see, a local brewery or two and stuff you wouldn't normally experience as landlubbers. The whole like totaled up to around 6 miles with the Rail Trail, bridge, visit to the town plus a lookaround. Neat place.

Excellent find! What a fantastic pizza!…read more We were staying at the fancy tent place up the road and were pretty hungry and fancied a beer or two. Whip out the trusty Yelp app and we are on our way to this wonderful little gem! I have found this app to be a great tool for finding local gems like this. We arrive and it's a bit under construction from the looks of it. This is a family business in the truest sense. They do all of the work themselves, at least when I was here. He is adding on to the place and creating more seating. He manned the oven and she waited on the tables and I feel like there were some of their children working in the back as well. There are a few other families there with us. One other from our campsite that I noticed when were arriving. I love the fact that the stones for the oven came from the ground right out front of the place while they were digging it up to build the patio. How cool is that?!?!? He told me all about it when I asked if he had built it himself. He hired a mason locally he said. Ok. Pizza hits the table. Wow. I could list 42 adjectives describing how good it was, but you just need to go see for yourself!! Perfect crust though!! Perfect! Do that as fast as you can! Come here by plane, train, auto, snowmobile, tank. Whatever. I even heated up the leftovers on a stone by the fire at the tent. Stupid good leftover too!!! Thank you to the Stones for a great meal and wonderful hospitality!! '26 - 25

We walked over from the main strip of downtown and loved the vibe as soon as we arrived. Walking down the stairs to get to the brewery versus the glass blowing shop was so cute. With apples on the ground from the apple trees, it couldn't be more "Maine". When walking in, you order at the bar for both food and drink and then there is a booth/trailer out back where the food comes out. The inside is set up for open mic night and then outside they have a full stage where they host live music. There is plenty of seating outside at the picnic tables as well. We ordered a couple beers, the Margherita pizza, the potato chips, and the Carrot Top salad. I cannot tell you howwwwwwwww amazing the salad was!! I have never had a salad like this and I ate every last bite. The roasted carrots were so good, combined with the crispy onions and the dressing; it was heaven. The chips were incredible and the dip that comes with it just elevates it that much more. I believe it was a pickle dip of some sort? I can't remember specifically, just that I needed a vat of it. Then the pizza?! We couldn't finish it but man did we want to! Add all this tasty food to a beautiful backdrop and we were the happiest little foodies in Maine. Hands down best stop in Ellsworth!
