Michael Gourkani is quite possibly the worst property manager that exists in this area. To put it simply, he works for the tenants, not the clients who are paying him. Property owners are not in his best interest. He allows tenants to not pay rent on time, and charges no late fees or NSF fees. He also had a tenant sign a new lease agreement prior to talking with owners and having owner agree on rent amount. He will make excuses why tenants aren't able to pay on time, and not offer to help correct the unwanted behavior. Also is horrible at record keeping and takes forever to respond to simple emails or phone calls requesting information. He clearly needs to retire because his business practices are antiquated. read more

Zero Stars. Zero. Completely unprofessional. I have been trying for days to get some sort of reply on some listings. Here I was, wasting my precious time all along. The key to a good, decent business is COMMUNICATION. Always. Whether it be small clients or millionaires, you have to provide the same respect and attention for all. It seems as though they list units and forget about them - they're never updated. If it's SOLD or RENTED, they should not be wasting people's time like that. They need to take FIVE seconds of their time to update their listings. It just takes a few seconds. And it costs ZERO dollars to be POLITE and attentive. My phone call was answered very rudely. Michael Jr. (from here on just "Michael") gave us stellar service from showing us house after house to handing us the keys to our new home :). He also introduced us to Tambra Jenkins of Advanced Global Mortgage who is an *ABSOLUTE FINANCIAL WIZARD!!!* He successfully helped us write an offer for a short sale and told us to "hang in there" for the long ride. Over the course of the next six months, Michael **patiently** responded to my "nu-mer-ous" (lol, seriously, that's an understatement!!!) emails, txts and phone calls inquiring about the status of the sale and any possible updates. Unfortunately, one of the pitfalls of negotiating a short sale is that the lenders involved can decline the offer, even after all that time. So, long story short: the contract was cancelled by mutual agreement (we wish the Seller the best of luck & hope that things turn out okay for her). As with any good relationship, communication is KEY -- by this time, Michael knew what we were looking for in a home & was committed to helping us find it. As a team, we negotiated aggressively & wrote contract after contract until finally we got the one that we wanted. Multiple emails unanswered. You would think that they would expect some level of frustration, but no. I was hung up on twice. Michael's indignation would be a lot more understandable if he had made some effort to address the multiple issues I raised in my emails to him. Or if he had even replied to the emails. This business decided to hang their flyers on my door, despite a clearly posted "No Trespassing" sign on my property, which also doubled as a "No Soliciting" sign. Instead of getting angry, I called the business and informed them of what their representative was doing and that it violated criminal trespassing laws and asked them to notify their worker to stop trespassing. I spoke to Michael Gourkani, who claimed he would tell the worker, but then proceeded to tell me that they could still go on my property and leave materials if they want since it wasn't soliciting, but completely ignored the trespassing aspect of the law. Then, later, I started getting multiple texts from Michael, harassing me about how, again, they had the right to enter my property to place flyers wherever they want, regardless of posted signs and kept telling me to "educate myself" on the soliciting laws, while completely ignoring trespass laws. Instead of respecting the privacy and property rights of a person who called out of courtesy to politely ask then to stop trespassing, they instead went the route of rude and harassing texts and behavior. Not someone I would want representing MY property needs. Ironic that this is a reality company that ignores the rights of property owners. read more

Unprofessional. I sent several emails that were unanswered! They ask for all of your confidential information for a rental application only to never get back to you and leave you hanging. These people couldn't send an email or even call me letting me know if my application had been accepted or denied even after getting my hopes up as well as telling me I had a strong, attractive application! Days had gone by until I reached out to ask them what was the hold up & was told they had chosen another tenant who actually already moved in!!! What the hell?! I'm glad I didn't proceed with them. I could not get any efficient nor effective assistant with this company. Different information was given to us versus what is listed on the website. (from the cost of the credit report to the documents that were needed to process our application) I know the rental/sales business and he played it to the max!! I believe we were discriminated against, but good things won't come to people like that. My husband and I were unsure how selling our current home would be and I was intimidated by the whole process. He reassured me he would take care of everything as far as getting our house ready to be put up for sale and finding our next home. I never thought we would find our dream home and be able to get it but apparently he did. The whole process was a lot but we didn't have to worry about anything because Mike and his team took care everything from painting the house to updating the inside a bit so we could list it for top dollar. Can I say Mickey Mouse? I came to their office after calling on an advertisement. I am an investor who has been through many real estate transactions. Talked to Michael, who really tried to push me on their own listings. He even suggested that there might be some enticements with credits outside of escrow, as enticements. When I asked to see what else is available, besides their inside listings, he seemed to lose interest and almost get mad. Not a good sign that they care about the customer. It was really strange. I cut my loses and did a polite exit. Stay 100 miles away from that place. read more

This review has been over due for way to long and I would give Michael 10 star's if I could. We (my Mom and Brother) first met Michael Jr. in 2015 when we stopped in a exploratory trip to Brentwood to look at homes, we were looking to rent our Condo in San Francisco and move with our 93 yr old Mom out of the city. Michael was wonderful through out that whole process. He came to look at our Condo and discuss rental pricing and the details of Main Street Realty managing the property for us. Michael found us the PERFECT tenant and did an exceptional job managing every aspect of the property for us. They were so impressed that they had Michael manage their loft in the city for them as well. Michael also found us a beautiful rental in Brentwood, which our Mom especially loved. The neighbors have been great and we enjoy Brentwood very much. Our Mom passed away at 95 in 2017, so we are so happy that we met Michael and her last years so wonderful. My brother and I decided to sell the Condo in the city and stay in Brentwood in 2018. Michael made the entire process of selling the Condo seem less. Handling any issues that came up promptly and professionally. No question was to small for a quick phone call/email and always handled in a timely manner. We HIGHLY recommend Michael Jr for any Real Estate need you might have, looking for a rental, managing a property for you and either selling or buying a home.
