Main Street located in the heart of Miami Lakes! It's a two block strip with shops, hair salons, barber, nail place, boutiques, pet store that offers grooming services, cold stone ice cream, movie theater, juice bar, sports bar with pool tables, several restaurants/cafe and a bar. My favorite eating spots may be Korner67 and 100 Montaditos . Oh let's not forget the yummy Novillo Restaurant ( for a good churasco and pinto rice) and the Old Shulas sports bar that is now I believe it's called Miami Lakes sports bar. The strip has a real estate office. On Saturdays they host a farmers market. A street is closed down for the set up and several vendors set up their tents. I've seen new comer bands set up in the outside open area. At night it's lighted up with lights on the trees. At night they will close a street for more walking area and you will see police officers guiding the guest and keeping us safe. During the start of the Christmas season they do a reveal of the lighting of the tree! The strip is well kept. Free Parking areas available surrounding the strip. So you may just find anything you're looking for in MainStreet. The only thing is while they have a few fashion clothing stop for women... there may be only 1 store that offers a laid back mens clothing. Or even for just a walk through the strip. I' live close by so I remember going to MainStrret as a teenager. The strip has closed many doors (to say a few: Tony Romas, Johnny Rockets, Mia Boutique, Peeky Boo) but something else opens that's just as good. read more

In the centre there is a big tree with fountains and it is where everyone meets up before embarking on their evening. Super sweet place, especially this year's Christmas decorations. read more

Aside from my frequent visits to the hair salon here, I actually lived on Main Street for six years and absolutely loved every minute of it. Its well manicured and suited for all types of residents and encompasses the true work/live community. It has both shops and restaurants including a movie theater, hair salon, hotel and state of the art gym, etc... It is family friendly with loads of activities on the weekends for all ages. They also enforce a curfew to keep underaged teens from roaming the streets at night and its a safe and tight knit community. Main Street continues to be my absolute favorite place to visit and reminisce on the days I used to casually stroll to the movies and Victoria's Secret several times a week after a hard days work...those were the days. This little incorporated town of miami lakes is awesome and Main Street with its charm and shady trees is just another reason why I can't wait for the Grahams to one day condo convert so I can buy my little loft apartment and move back to the little town that has my heart!!! read more

Main Street was the place to be back in my high school days. Now, way past those days, it's still a decent place to be. There are plenty of restaurants, both old and new, in the area. You have old favorites such as Italy Today and Thai Café, as well as new places showing up such as 100 Montaditos and Salsa Fiesta. Please note, too, that aside from these, across the street, which does consist of this same area, you will find places such as Miller's Ale House and On the Border. Nearby, there's also a Pei Wei. Be aware that the Buca di Beppo is no more though, but if you want to eat there, I do believe there are still chains open with one in Davie. Anyway, aside from dining establishments, you have a few entertainment options. I believe there is a live theater nearby, as well as the tried and true movie theater Cobb. On weekends, this theater gets packed though and there are a lot of teenagers. I think they instilled a curfew, but I am not sure how effective it is as I don't frequent the place. Just something to keep in mind. Oh, and the main fountain is still there, too, looking just as beautiful in the center of the street. Parking is free, yay, and there are a variety of clothes stores. I am surprised some of these stores have held though as most people don't go to Main Street with the intention of shopping, but eh, I suppose somehow they make do. If in the area, I definitely recommend giving Main Street a try. You are bound to enjoy yourself here. If you are looking for a mega-shopping experience though, you may want to check elsewhere. Best place to go when your bored basically a mini city or mall with alot of stores it's the best place to go on a date

Aside from eating good quality food one of my other favorite things to do is people watch...is that weird? I can sit down in the fountain in Main Street and just watch people all day long while eating some cold stones or munching on some delicious chips and salsa. I'm sitting here with my legs crossed day dreaming and just looking at other people and wonder what their life is like and why everyone is in such a hurry. Omg! Writing this I'm like I think I'm a little weird. LOL!! I make it a habit of having some alone time and just taking in my surroundings and Main Street is a quaint little place to do it. Reminiscent of Main Street USA in Disney World, the small attraction in Miami Lakes offers dining, shops, a hotel and a movie theater. It's fun to go here on a date or with family or friends and just walk around and experience the little shops, boutique like, walk around the pretty Inn and maybe enjoy good food at a steak house or Italian restaurant. You can even catch a movie if you would like. It's a really fun place for locals but I would not go out of my way to come here if you are staying in the greater Miami or Fort Lauderdale area. read more

This is where I spent most of my teen years hanging out with friends during the weekends. It's a great place to watch a movie, do a little shopping and grab a bite to eat. Slowly but surely they are revamping the town square with new restaurants and shops. There is a lovely fountain where you can sit under a beautiful tree and do a little people watching. read more

We just recently moved here and I can honestly say that we truly love living here! It's such a nice, safe area that truly just feels like home. Having visited Main Street LIKE CRAZY as a teenager, it's nice to be back and now see it from the eyes of an adult. It's quiet, calm, and a sweet little place with stores and restaurants -- perfect for a casual stroll on any given night. I only wish there was a little more variety as some of the restaurants / stores we have visited aren't so great. Regardless, though, it's nice to have this little area in walking distance as well as the movie theatre and of course, Cold Stone lol great little place! read more
