    Pasta, carrots, and green beans.

My favorite blue plate place in the whole state. The food is wonderful, especially the fried chicken, which I think the fried chicken is the best in state. However, all of the food is really good albeit not always for your health haha. You get a meat, two sides, a desert, and a 32 ounce drink for $12. It's really a deal that you just don't see anymore. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. Inside it is nice with table and chairs attached to a cute little shop. Plus, At the end of the visit they always ask if you'd like a coffee :)

Fried chicken ( breast/wing), creole pasta (w/ sausage/ shrimp), black eyed peas, cornbread.

My hunny and I stopped here for lunch, LET ME TELL U! Cute place, nice size dining area. Everyone was friendly. The food was pretty tasty. I enjoyed the fried chicken wings (3), creole pasta, green beans, cheddar biscuit, and strawberry cake. My hunny had the creole pasta, black eyed peas, cornbread, fried chicken (white meat), and chocolate cake. The sweet tea was fresh and just sweet enough. I took my time and savored every bite . I wasn't starving so i got to TASTE it. I was glad they didn't over season, I would say it high bp friendly . There were plenty food options. I did not feel rushed. The food held me for a good while. We will definitely be back.

Food was plentiful and delicious as usual, although even though I was one of the first dozen people in line, my food was stone cold. The service was great, but the foods been better.

Restaurant takes up about half the block!

This is a VERY popular place in the area and many people from surrounding areas also journey here to eat. Main Street Café offers a set menu of daily specials that you choose from in a cafeteria style line. I have heard stories that before the covid situation this was an all you could eat buffet. That is definitely no longer the situation here (if it ever was) as now they have a changing daily menu you select from via a cafeteria style display with the options behind glass windows. So you get to pick a main meat option and then from various vegetable and dessert options along with a choice of a roll or cornbread. As part of the meal price you also get your choice of a drink as well. So the good news is that you do get quite a decent choice of items for quite an affordable price here. The bad news is that I found the food to overall be quite bland to my taste. The yams had the most flavor of any of the items I had and honestly I found them to be a superior "dessert" to the apple cobbler I had along with it. The ambiance here is quite interesting and they actually take up two whole spaces in the street block they are located in. They have a retail section in here with quite a decent amount of items on their main side then they have what looks more like a full fledged gift store on the other side which also has another dining room in the rear of it. Overall considering the price you do get great value for your money here these days just don't expect the most flavorful or seasoned food here.

We stopped in to grab a bite for lunch after seeing the roadside sign for Main Street Cafe. We walked in and were promptly greeted with a friendly hello & saw our deer in headlights look they directed us to where we could pick out food for our lunch plate (meat & three sides). Everything was great. Fried chicken was seasoned well and crispy. The hamburger steak was again seasoned well and the gravy was perfect. If we find ourselves passing through again we will definitely stop back in. They also have the best lemon ice box pie I've ever had. -lots of love from your neighboring state AL

I happened to be in Collins during lunchtime one day last week and stopped here. Here is located in downtown Collins on Main Street hence its name. It's easy to find on the corner and plenty of nearby free street parking is available. Inside it initially appeared to be a country store gift shop at the entrance but is really a restaurant when you get past that front counter. The large dining area is actually 2 levels with a lot of local memorabilia on the walls. For example there were numerous high school composites of past class years. The serving line is relatively short and from the selections available I chose the baked chicken with 3 sides, a roll and a drink for $11. I thought my plate of food was good tasting but rated it more like a 3 rather than a 4. Even though this is a counter service restaurant a waitress does bring your drink to your table. My rating for this meal is a 3 I would be happy to return if in town.

Fried Chicken, Beef Tips over Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, homemade roll dessert, & 2 Diet Cokes for $11 plus tip! Hell yeah!!!

I've had this place on my mind for several years but couldn't remember what small, Mississippi town it was in. As soon as I pulled into the downtown area, I remembered this great corner cafe on Main Street that had perfectly executed home cooked food! I had an absolutely delicious "lunch", & unbelievably, you get 2 meats, 2 Sides, a homemade roll, a desert, & a monster styrofoam cup sized drink (or 2 cans of soda) for $11 + tip!!! ...AND, the taste of the food surpassed the value of the meal!!! Go now!

There is ice cream, milkshakes, cookie dough, and baked treats to choose from. Inside the store there are several tables to sit at to escape the heat of summer. We made our way over to the baked treats and purchased an assortment to bring back to our AirBnB. The customer service was great and helpful when making our selections. Let's get to the goodies! I loved the cookie square I got with the watermelon in icing on top. Makes for a cute seasonal dessert. The cookies were yummy along with the white chocolate peanut butter balls. Stop here for your baked treats!

I've never seen any macaroons anywhere else in the Laurel, MS area so I was really happy to see they had them here. I LOVE macaroons so I was so excited to get one and bit into it... sadly I found my experience to be a very dry crumbly macaroon that I might go so far as to call stale. I've eaten many macaroons in my time and this one is on the bottom of my list sadly. I would suggest sticking with the other items here like the candy as I did enjoy my chocolate candy I ate. Overall this is the only game in Laurel, MS for desserts like this and for your macaroon fix I would wait for a visit to New Orleans.

First the good. The 6 OZ filet mignon was cooked to perfection and was incredibly tender! Worth…read moreevery penny. The brussel sprouts side was undercooked but had good flavor. The chef needed to par boil until tender before cooling down... all this before hitting the deep fryer. Flavor was good, but tough and chewy. My 14 OZ Delmonico Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium-rare, had great flavor, and overall was a quality cut of beef. The garlic mashed potatoes were served hot and fluffy, but they were not a stand-out, just your average mashed potatoes. They were real, though... when others uses instant. Props for that. My seared green beans were hot and fresh and tasty and very good. Now the bad..... 1. I called hours in advance and asked about making a reservation and was advised that they don't take reservations. Wrong answer.... yes they do. We waited for about 20 minutes but were in no rush, but we observed a few other couples announcing they had a reservation and they were seated ahead of us..... so whomever answered the phone and advised that Edgers does not take reservations,,,,,, yes you do! 2. Service was fast but not good. The server did not come around to offer re-fills on our very empty beverage glasses.... and she brought the dinner rolls well after dinner had started as she admitted she forgot. She did not suggestive sell a desert and instead just brought us our check. 3. There is no music and the dining room is loud because you sit on top of a concrete floor with chipped paint everywhere.... cheap and nasty looking, not worthy of a steakhouse. The cheap turquoise curtains dragging on the floor covering the metal blinds are tacky at best. The hostess station is pure 1971, needs ripped out. 4. The décor was horrendous. They advise "casual country club attire", which is very funny as many, ahem, "gentleman" in the dining room had on various baseball caps... one guy was in flip-flops... and this place is not even in the same county as anything close to a country club vibe.... 5. While they do have cloth table cloths and napkins, sitting in this very poorly decorated and run down less than cafeteria atmosphere reminded me of sitting in the middle of a 1970s funeral parlor show room. I was looking for a casket with a dead guy laying in it.... 6. Presentation needs a complete revamp! No water served, no garnish of any kind, really nothing "nice" about this place except for the funeral flowers sitting in the middle of the converted garage, I mean dining room.... Great food. Quality food. Service provided by staff who would not know how to do a wine service, a staff who are very nice people, but a staff who have never eaten in a fancy restaurant in a first-class city like New York, Boston or San Francisco... foodie environments. Is this a prom date destination? NO Is this a place to impress your date? NO Is this a place to have a business dinner with a new or perspective client? H&%$ NO Is this a place that is no frills with decent food? Sure.... go for the steaks but nothing else....
