New customers have to pay attention when booking. You have to follow directions on his website and he doesn't do walk-ins. I've witnessed a few complaints about how particular he is with regard to this, but he is a one man operation and the time he spends on administrative items, like a new customer not able to follow his directions, is less time taking care of his customers. He has lots of classic grooming supplies and also makes some custom one's as well. I love his products and use them almost exclusively. TLDR: follow his instructions. Be on time. You'll get a great haircut and a fantastic experience. After a few years, he is not just my barber, but a friend. This is after I goofed up his instructions a few times. Love this place. He frequently berates and belittles his staff in the open, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. My decision to leave a negative review stems from a direct interaction I had with the owner during my most recent visit. My usual barbers were busy, and seeing that the owner was not cutting anyone's hair and had an empty chair, I approached his station. As a busy professional with limited time, I asked if he was available to cut my hair. Instead of a professional response, he immediately adopted an attitude, seemingly annoyed by the request, and asked, "Don't you want to wait for your guy?" When I walked away to sit down, rather than letting it go, he engaged me again and escalated the situation. When I asked if he was "too good" to cut my hair, he launched into a rant about a "silent rule" regarding waiting for specific barbers--despite me directly asking him for a service he was available to provide. He proceeded to argue with me and speak down to me in front of his staff and other customers. It is unacceptable for a business owner to publicly berate a long-time client or to refuse service based on arbitrary "silent rules" when a customer is pressed for time. This behavior is unprofessional and hostile. I want to warn potential customers that while the barbers may be skilled, the management creates a toxic environment.
