Terrible. I booked a taxi and had to cancel it 2 days in advance and he refused to refund it. Ridiculous.

Unethical. What started at a positve experience with a driver (named Jonathan) arriving to my house at the exact time requested, a seamless drop-off at my requested destination turned turned into a frustrating experience. Upon arrival to destination, I gave my credit card to the drive to cover the $60+ fare, and he wrote down the credit card # on his clipboard. I game him a $10 cash tip in the meantime. I was also looking for pickup later in the day, so told him I would be looking for a ride later for a return trip home. No problem, and he supplied his cell # to text him later. Later in the day, I proceed with a text and he texts back to say he is not in the area and no other drivers are available within 20-30 mins. No problem, I pursued another taxi company and requested a pickup. Not too much later, my Main Line taxi driver calls to let me know he can come to pick me up, but he was a little way away. No problem, I'll wait for him. After an hour, no cab and I ended up taking my "backup" from another cab company. Lo and behold a phone call from Main Line saying my taxi had arrived. At this point, I had already taken my "backup" cab the 45 min commute home and was resting comfortably. Over and done with, right? Nope. I check my credit card statement a few days later to see 2 pending transactions from Main Line taxi. One was for the original cab ride ($60) and another charge had appeared for $81. Turns out the driver went ahead and charged me a fare for his failed pickup after having been over an hour late. Needless to say I have since disputed the fraudulent charges with my bank and will do everything in my power to make people aware of the difficulty I encountered. Take into consideration that this could be a case of one renegade driver, but it does reflect negatively on Main Line Taxi as a whole. Do not use this service. Awful. We booked a taxi the night before for 4.15am pickup for our visiting friends. Our friends called us at 430 as it had not showed and we had not heard from the company. So we called them. It was still 7 minutes away. We then picked our friends up and drove them to the station in order for them not to miss their train. Very bad service: I pre-scheduled and confirmed a 4AM pickup in Exton to the Airport. The driver arrived 1 hour late. His credit card mechanism did not function and I missed my flight to a family funeral in CA. Also, I incurred a fee for the rescheduled flight. Worst service ever. I have ordered cars three mondays in a row. Today , 25 minutes late allowing me to miss my amtrak. Cars reeks, driver has an ashtray and air freshener in the front seat. Three weeks ago the car should not have been on the road. The brakes squealed with every touch. The driver had no, change, no receipt and could not take a credit card. I called the company to have a receipt and was told the managers were in a meeting and I would have to call back. Two weeks ago the driver was angry when he found i was going to 30 th station and then proceeded to drive like he wanted us to crash. He even asked me twice if his driving made me nervous. Literally had a drunk driver. Empty handed of brand name Whiskey in the front. Wth. I don't know why the heck we didn't get out, I mean I know it was late. It was 2am. Last week, I had googled taxis in the area and having the naTme Main Line Taxi, I decided this was a safe bet. I started out satisfied with the phone service. I was able to reserve a taxi several hours ahead of time. As our pick up time got closer, I called to confirm about a half hour before our pick up. They said they would be there and call me when they were on their way. As we waited outside our destination, several Main Line Taxis came and picked up other people outside. When I called back, they said "sometimes people steal taxis." It was infuriating because it was cold, we had a reservation, and the woman on the phone was rude. The driver should have been waiting for us before taking anyone else. We decided to flag down a different taxi from another company after this comment. Was in the Pennsylvania for business and was in need of a cab for a business outing. Was told by driver to meet them down the hill from building. When we got to the cab he left. Called the main number and they came to pick us up. When we arrived to our location they told us they can pick us up but when we called back a few hours later they said they don't pick up from the location they dropped us off. Never available when you need them, horrible service and rude staff. If you live in the suburbs of Norristown pa forget it, they will not provide service. Uber or Lyft are the only options. STAY AWAY, called for ride to airport and the car they sent was in disgusting shape, trunk was full of crap and I couldn't fit in my luggage and it was disgusting to even sit in. They have faulty meters I always pay around $110 but this meter showed $135. My humble request is to stay away and go with uber or even city cabs. read more

Ordered a cab for some friends from overseas to go from Wayne to 30th St train station. I asked the driver which way he was going to go to which he responded 476 North onto 76; Perfect, it was 9:45pm, they had a 11:00pm train, they'd have plenty of time. I told them to text me when they arrived so I know they got there. They txt me at 10:40pm that they'd just arrived. I asked them if they ran into traffic or roadworks, they replied no (relevant later on). On top of that their fare was much more than the $40-$50 that the driver quoted me as they were getting in the cab and that the driver didn't turn the meter on (a big no-no.) I called Mainline taxi, asked to speak to a manger and was forwarded to Rick who said he would look into it. Rick looked into it and told me that the cab driver said I'd told him to go down to the airport on 476 South then up I95 (note that I didn't tell him which way to go, I simply asked which was he was going to go), which is apparently what he did (I also don't think that they even went this way because my friends said they were driving through suburbs most of the time and when they left me the driver turned the wrong way to get on 476 South). Rick also informed me that the driver had forgotten to turn the meter on. Simply put they scammed my international friends because they could. I filed a complaint with the PUC and will update this when I hear a response. FYI the driver was Edward (car or ID #77). read more

Absolutely awful. I used to use this service a few years ago when I worked in Exton, and it was terrible then - I would routinely call for a ride hours ahead of time, and nobody would show up for 45 minutes to an hour after they were scheduled to. You'd think I would've learned my lesson this time around. Fast forward to this week - I was running late for work (I normally take the bus), so I decided to bite the bullet and call a cab. I called for a cab at about 8:30. Fast forward again to 9:30, still nobody there. Called the company back, and all I got was "yeah, they're on their way,". Fast forward to about 30 minutes later, I get a call from the driver asking where I am. I ask him what address he's at, he tells me he's in Newtown Square. I was in West Chester. Said his company must've given him the wrong address, and to let him call them. Another hour passes, and I call dispatch again. The person that answered the phone sounded pretty irritated that I was asking again. This is now bordering on being 2 hours waiting for a cab. Long story short? I called Rainbow, and they picked me up in five minutes. Driver was professional and courteous. Main Line made me over 2 hours late for work. read more

I Called at 1:00 am for a ride, was told it was on it way( i live 7 minutes from Ardmore). I called back at 1:30 to find out when the cab would arrive, was put on hold for 7 minutes. I hung up and called back- no answer. At 2:47 am I called to the cancel the cab, the dispatcher said" not a problem, I've got you covered." I don't think that means what you think it means.... Booked Main Line Taxi to head to airport this week. Driver was on time but omitted to start the meter immediately and then became upset about loosing out on $4.00! She then stated that she had to make up the $4 so would take the heavier traffic route. Ridiculous... I got to the airport and paid by CC. The driver then called me at close to midnight requesting my CC info again because she wrote it down wrong. Close to midnight!!! I asked her if she knew what time it was and she said around 11 like it was no big deal. I called at 10pm for a taxi from Bala Cynwyd to Royersford at 4am this morning for a trip to a surgery center for a knee procedure. The dispatcher himself showed up on time and drove me. He turned what would have been a stressful experience into a really relaxing one with his outstanding service, including one of the most soothing playlists that was perfect for the occasion. The car itself was an older model vehicle, I thought that it was clean and functioned well. I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

We called two days ahead to reserve a 1:45 taxi so we could get to the airport on time. Not only did they apparently forget about our reservation when we called at 1:45 asking if the car was close, but we had to wait more than a half hour for the car to even arrive, and we almost missed our flight. I called around 7:30am to schedule a 9:30am pick up. At 9:35am, I call them to ask where the cab is, and they didn't have the reservation in the system. They sent someone out and told me that person would be there in 8 minutes. The driver then called a few minutes later, lost. I missed my bus, and it screwed up my plans for the day. A van was ordered to pick up my family with a toddler after an international flight back from Europe. I confirmed with Main Line Taxi the day before. Fast forward to their arrival and my wife texts, after collecting their 8 pieces of luggage plus hand baggage (hence we needed a van) "where's the driver?" A phone call to the dispatcher revealed that "the driver wasn't answering his pages", i.e., he was missing in action. I confess that the string of expletives that came out of my mouth was rude, but I was furious; these incompetent people left my family, with a toddler that had just flown in from Europe, without the ride that was ordered (and confirmed)! The Mainline Taxi dispatcher was so rude to me on the phone (I was kind of stranded (don't ask; long story) and was headed for a WaWa--I was too far to know the exact address, but assured the guy I would have it in a minute. They said they had the time scheduled for a half hour later even though I called twice the night before to confirm. In my first call, the guy didn't even take my name or phone number. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! VERY DANGEROUS My 85 y.o mother was supposed to be driven from her retirement home in Haverford to her doctors appt at Penn at Radnor ( a 15 minute ride). Instead she was driven into Center City and dropped off at 15th and Market ( and charged $40). Fortunately a security guard at PennCenter called me and we got her back safely.This was a very scary and potentially dangerous situation. The people at the taxi office seemed entirely unconcerned when I told her that we didn't know where my mother was and that she had not reached her destination saying " we can't contact the driver". They later told us that the driver had worked for them in the past and just returned to their company. they seemed to take no responsibility or seem at all alarmed about what happened. The management and staff at my mother's retirement home was very upset and will never call Main Line taxi again. Needless to say, neither will we. read more

Idiots. Yesterday i ordered a cab for my girlfriend who was going from berwyn station to her home which is all of 4 driving minutes away. I ordered a cab for her to pick her up at 1:35. At 1:20 i called to say her train from 30th street in philly to berwyn was late and she would actually be there at 1:50. My girlfriend arrives at 1:52 and calls me. She had just gotten in the cab. I gave her $10 for cab fare because it cost $5 plus tip for her to get home via cab. She tells me she gets in the cab and the meter is $8. WHAT? I say put the driver on the phone. This idiot begins to tell me how he started the meter at 1:45. I say why when i called your boss and told him she would be there at 1:50. Anyway i call the cab company. The driver tells me and the first rep i speak to says he started the meter at 1:45. Then i say why would he start it at 1:45 when i spoke to you directly and told you she would be there at 1:50? I am then told hold on you have to speak to the supervisor. Then i yell at who was supposed to be the "supervisor" she forwards me to the manager..I yell at him..he says i need to speak to the other "manager" in charge. They then retract themselves and try to cover their own as$es and bull$hit me. Saying now their driver starting the meter at 1:50. LOL WHAT? how did my girlfriend get in the cab at 1:52. Their wait time is 45 cents a minute. What is 45 cents x 2 minutes. My friend it is NOT EIGHT FREAKING DOLLARS. After speaking to 3 people apparently in charge (which i think were just regular employees fronting as management). I was told the boss is out i would have to speak to him. I used Main Taxi once to get a ride to the airport and I will never, NEVER, use them ever again! They charged me through a pay-pal account registered in Virginia so it was denied by my credit card company because there was no indication what so ever what this charge was for or where exactly from. I just received a call from the driver screaming at me for refusing to pay, how dare I steal a ride from him, and that he was bringing charges against me. After 12 minutes of him yelling at me, I finally got it through his thick skull that this was an issue with my credit card company and he realized that all he had to do was run my card again. So I decided to call Main Line Taxi to tell them about the irate cab driver. The woman who answered the phone was miserable. Then Rick the manager gets on the phone. I explained what just happened and his response was: I don't care. He's an independent contracted driver. The Police will make sure he gets his money. Besides all that, the car I was picked up in was absolutely filthy with old bags of fast food everywhere and he was late and got lost. From the driver, to the receptionist, to the manager, they fit every stereotype of the degenerates that ruin the good name of Philadelphia. Least professional service I've experienced in a long time. Called a van for pick up in Media at 1:30am. They arrived 20 minutes later, called to let me know and I said we'd be right out. We get outside and the taxi is no where in site. I call back and the dispatcher said he already picked us up. The driver had taken a random group that was not ours. We had to wait another 20 minutes for another driver to come get us. Then we get the call that he's outside. We get in the cab to find that the driver is not in the car. After a minute or 2 he hops in and asks me my address and hasn't even programmed it into his phone GPS. He proceeds to do this while the meter is running which wastes about $2. He doesn't even know how to get to 252 on his own. Completely clueless. He then turns on the radio which is Blasting. He blares the Drake CD for the entire car ride. The kicker is that, we get dropped off at my house and then after 30 seconds my friend realizes he left his phone in the cab. He runs after the car, which doesn't see him/doesn't stop. We immediately call the company and they tell us that they can't get in touch with the driver. We try many times to no avail. We call the next morning and they continue to say that they can't reach the driver. After over 24 hours, my friend finally gets through to the driver. His name is Phil. We are currently trying to get him fired so hopefully no one else will have the experience of driving with him. But he actually threatens my friend and tells him that he will sell his iPhone 5 on the street or smash it against a wall unless he pays him to return it. Completely OUTRAGEOUS. My friend is getting upper management involved and still trying to bargain with this Phil to get his phone back. read more

I travel ALOT for business and this was by far the worst service I have ever received from a taxi cab company! The reservation was called in two hours in advance for a trip from Radnor to the airport. I was waiting for the cab 15 minutes in advance of the appointed time. It never showed up. When I called the office, Steve told me first that the cab was there (it was not), then that it had been there and left (also a lie), then that it would arrive in 8 minutes (it did not). When I called back, Steve treated me dismissively and told me to be patient there was alot of traffice. When I phoned back 10 minutes later, I got more of the same. Ultimately, a driver arrived more than 30 minutes late and more than 45 minutes after I started to wait. He said he had just received the call in the last 5 minutes and had been available the whole time. He concluded that the dispatchers were trying to slide the business to some favored driver, rather than call for the first available dirve. My driver failed to turn on the meter and we had an unmetered run to the airport. I was given the name of the manager (Brad) but was rebuffed (by Al and Robert) in my repeated attempts to reach him to register my complaint. consistently bad service, cars in poor repair, drivers who do not seem to know the area, and EXPENSIVE! I reserved a cab to go to the airport. Upon arrival at my home, the driver asked where I was going. "The airport." Driver: "Oh, I didn't know this was going to be such a long trip, I have to stop to get gas." Really??!!??!! The cab was dirty, the transmission was laboring as though it was about to give out, it was obviously an old police car, probably very old. The 20 minute trip cost me over $50. This company is a major failure and complete disaster. On a freezing cold night, I called them to arrange for a taxi to pick me up at the train station to take me home. The receptionist (Geri) told me that the taxi would meet me there at the designated time. I provided my cell phone number. When I arrived at the train station, no taxi was in sight. I called Main Line Taxi to ask where it was; Geri told me that none were available. They thus left me totally stranded on a freezing night, without shelter. It is bad enough that they failed to send a taxi as promised; it is worse that they never contacted me before the designated time, so as to allow me to make alternate arrangements. STAY AWAY. Please do not even think about taking this taxi service. I wish I saw all these negative reviews before calling them. I don't even know how they stay in business. I called and was told I was going to get a car in 10-15 mins to take me to the train stations...45 mins later there was no car and I missed my train. I kept calling and they kept telling me 5 mins and when I complained they kept saying we have no control over the driver and it is not their problem. Excuse me you're a freaking taxi service and people are relying on you to get them to places somewhat close to the time you promised, at the very least you can take responsibility of your screw up and apologize. The driver finally got there and literally circled in front of us without even waiting or trying to look for us.
