He brings with him a bunch of props for himself and the audiance to put on during specific songs. Think YMCA but he brings hats people can wear. He comes up and leads the whole audience too and its all really great fun. This DJ will not let your wedding guests go without dancing. We then were months away from our own wedding and what happens? We go to another wedding and he is the DJ AGAIN. We were so excited. He was still the same. Just as fun if not better. We decided then that we had to have him at our own wedding. Our wedding was fantastic. He had all the props, he led the crowd in a train line to get them out on dance floor. He did all the introductions and did fantastic with it all. He was patient and careful when it came to name pronounciations and introcution order. Also with selecting the songs, he has a website that was very easy to use. He also remains in close communication all the way up to and after the wedding day. He made is feel really confident in him the whole time. Also, I need to say that he had other people with him at the wedding and he used them to also get the guests pumped up and dancing but also to film the reception. After the reception he gave us a highlights video that was honestly really great. They definitely captured the best moments. I have honestly yet to go to a wedding with a better and more fun DJ. He really stands out from the rest.

We received so many compliments from…read moreguests who had fun dancing, and we noticed and appreciated the time and care that Damian took to make our reception an amazing night we'll always remember. From the very first meeting we noticed Damian was different than other DJs we had met with - he attentively made note of comments we made throughout our initial conversation, and was most interested in hearing what would make our night special. This was refreshing after meeting with other DJs who tried to push their own style or agenda with "rules" about how many songs the bride/groom should select. Music is very important to us and hearing/dancing to our favorite songs was a critical part of our vision for the day. Despite a very lengthy spreadsheet of songs with rankings and categories, Damian graciously accepted our requests to have all songs come from our list or be filtered by a trusted family member. Furthermore, he came prepared with all our special requests ready to roll - including perfectly timed movie audio clips and excerpts from uncommon songs. Thanks to Damian, the flow of the evening was awesome. From cocktails to speeches, dinner music to special dances, Damian kept us on track. Most importantly, Damian was able to transform our playlist into a fun evening where the dance floor was full. Whether we were slow dancing, singing along to classic oldies or jamming to hits from the 90s/2000s, Damian was able to read the crowd, adapt and keep guests engaged. Put simply, he paced the evening flawlessly. We can't thank Damian enough for leading our reception through all the key "Kodak Moments" and then creating a fun dance party throughout the night! - Shawn & Sarah

Hot damn, that was an awesome party. My wife and I worked with Joe and Ken from Amp Event…read moreProfessionals to celebrate our wedding reception in early September 2021. They were highly responsive, professional, and easy to work with throughout the planning process. Additional to the emailing, Joe & Ken video-called us one week prior to our event to review the reception timetable, song requests, and venue details. Months prior to our event, Joe and Ken provided us access to their client portal. This portal allowed us to add the reception timetable, the names of our wedding party, songs for our grand entrance, the first dance song, the last song of the night, and other must-play songs. Joe hit every song we requested that night, including the Filipino line dance song in Tagalog. The dance floor was never stagnant or empty. All generations had the best time on the floor. If you have Spotify, then building a custom playlist for the night is easy to transfer over to the client portal in two mouse clicks. Speaking of the grand entrance, since my wife and I had a small ceremony last year with our immediate families only, we worked with Ken to customize our grand entrance to include a video of our ceremony highlights projected onto a curtain. We wanted our extended families and friends that were not able to witness last year's ceremony to watch our special moment as if they were there, too. Ken was able to edit our highlight video to 2-3 minutes. Once the pronouncement occurred in the video (I now pronounce you... you may now kiss the bride), my wife and I burst through the curtains like a high school football team at homecoming with our banger entrance song. The grand entrance was GRAND AF and our guests were hyped. We were told by numerous family members and friends that it was the best entrance they have ever seen - the projector image was clear from 100 feet away, the song was fun, and the timing was perfect. Also, our family and friends loved the Walking Photo Booth. Typically, my wife and I would wait in long lines at other weddings for the photo booth. This time around Mike from Amp Event Professionals had a handheld ring light photo booth that walked up to us. He was able to capture all the guests throughout the evening in their most spirited moments - into photos and GIFs! Super cool tech, super worth the add-on cost. We made sure to clear this Walking Photo Booth with our photographer since we were basically doubling our photo amount. My only suggestion when working with Joe and Ken is that you should hydrate a lot leading up to the celebration because both my quads cramped up hard that night from dancing so much. Seriously. We were all jumping, moving, and grooving for hours straight. Overall, they exceeded our expectations and gave us a night that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend Amp Event Professionals to anyone looking for respectful guys that just want to throw you the best dance party.

But once I got engaged, I didn't hesitate to tell my now Husband that Ken was the person we were hiring no matter the cost. We planned our budget around Ken and our venue because that was how confident I was to have him as our DJ. With 2020 taking a turn for what it did, we were struck with a difficult decision to make whether it be to postpone to keep our wedding. We decided to still have our ceremony and postpone our reception to next year. Ken was extremely accomodating and checked in with us numerous times throughout quarantine to make sure we were okay, and the transition process was seamless. He understood the difficult decision and never gave any push back on what we needed to do. With that being said, fast forward to our ceremony. When discussing our vision, Ken offered the ability to make it more personalized. This meant that he would record my Husband and I talked about how we met and basically tell our love story while the bridal party is walking down the aisle. Ken came over to our home and recorded us separately so I had no idea what my other half was saying until the Day of. Listening to it during the ceremony has me SOBBING even before I stepped out to walk down the aisle. After the ceremony, he sends us the clip allowing us to be able to listen to it over and over again. We already can't wait to work with him for our reception next year! It's going to be a blast and we just know that he'll have everyone on the dance floor! We know we will be! Thank you Ken for bringing our dream ceremony to life and being amazing to work with! If you're looking for a DJ, Amp Event Professionals provides more than just music for your special day, the services that they offer, and most of all the professionalism, and fun time you have working with them is above all else!

He is extremely quick to respond, answers any questions you need, and makes you feel extremely reassured about your big day. I've also never seen someone so extremely organized! Truly, if I hadn't already hired a coordinator, Ryan could have easily stood in as one. He kept everything flowing so smoothly. We didn't really have any particular music requests and left a lot of it up to Ryan. He swooped in and made the day an AMAZING one. Everyone loved getting up to dance. I loved watching folks doing the group dances or even the slow dances on the dance floor. When Ryan noticed that our first dance song wasn't the full version, he again swooped in to correct it to ensure that our (choreographed) first dance went without a hitch. I don't know many people who would care enough to take that extra step. Lastly, I just went to his company's Facebook to submit my review and saw all these amazing photos he took on our big day. I don't have my professional photos back and was so busy running around that day, so I'm extremely grateful for these amazing photos. Ryan, you are the best, and I CANNOT thank you enough. 10/5 stars from me and Jeremy. Keep up the great work!

What's more, as an event vendor, Chris is professional, responsive, thorough and above & beyond in ensuring he meets his clients' needs. He would be an incredible addition to any event and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any local couples planning their wedding day. Fun story - I booked Chris on just a few hours' notice. The original DJ for my brother & sister-in-law's wedding hadn't confirmed any event timing or details with the couple and was completely unresponsive the morning of the wedding. Not so great. As a bridesmaid & an event planner all I saw were red flags. I jumped in for the poor bride, so she could actually you know, prepare for her day. I found Chris via Yelp and placed a call. A super awkward one in which I had to share that, oh yeah, the date of the wedding was today. Miraculously Chris was free that evening, familiar with the venue and willing to jump in. About 90 minutes later he was loading in and setting up. I had literally texted him song titles for key parts while getting ready and he kept very incomplete and messy information organized and in the correct order for the ceremony. What's more, during the cocktail hour, he took the time to get the bridal party's names correct - down to the pronunciation - for the reception introductions. He also spent time getting to know the couple, and even worked with the bartender to be sure guests of honor were never without a beverage. Finally, his DJing during the reception was incredible! So much fun with the perfect mix of classics, new songs and special requests. At one point he even joined in on the dance floor to keep the party going. It was such a great mix of music and once the dancing got started it continued straight through to the end. I appreciated how attentive he was to details and how seamless it was to work with him in a time crunch. Even having just worked with him for one day, it was so clear he takes time to get to know his clients and how he can create a perfect event for them. He's very much the type of wedding vendor who will make the entire planning process smoother and more fun for couples. I cannot say enough good things about working with Chris and think he'd be the perfect addition to any wedding or event!

A list of why my wedding rocked harder than yours:…read more 1. Our guests were sweating profusely 2. The cake we tediously selected, the key lime tart with chocolate crust, AND the after dinner champagne went untouched on the dinner tables 3. My sorority sisters were shaking their good girls at eye-level to anyone who dared to remain seated 4. Our bridal party was practically fornicating on the dance floor 5. No one wore shoes. Not even flip flops 6. No ghastly group dance numbers that even Grandma shudders at the thought of, were played during the reception 7. My bosses were caught on video shaking their tail feathers (who's looking forward to the company Christmas party this year???) 8. No one wanted to clear the dance floor even for the bouquet toss 9. My book club girls were taking their clothes off 10. Our guests were whipping napkins and scarves around their heads... like helicopters All this awesomness is solely due to the talents of one helluva DJ, Chris Colton. Chris kept the party going with killer music from the second those dinner forks went down, and guests from ages 18-75 were all acting kray until the very last call. Chris played dance music, rock music, and everything else we asked of him. Leading up to the wedding of the year (ahem, that'd be mine), Chris had us fill out a form that covered every basis possible. Definite play list, over my dead body playlist, stop the party for this song, etc. He also had us time out the reception to make sure we stayed on track, and worked with my wedding planner to put together the perfect agenda. Chris also took the time to put together a fantastic montage about our alma mater, Marshall University. We Are... Marshall!!! Hell yeah we numerous grads chanted that, and Chris made it happen. And when my sorority wanted to sing off pitch to Livin' On a Prayer and then stomp on the floor, he made sure that happened too. Chris has really comparable prices to other Chicago DJ's, but I don't think their skill set and enthusiasm can match his. Chris made our wedding a party to remember (and for some, one they want to forget, heh). He's also very accessable, which is so important when a song lightbulbs in your head and you JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT PLAYED! Be good brides and grooms and feed your DJ, give him really exact guidelines for what you envision your wedding to be like, and let him do his thing. Because he does it real freakin' well.

I needed to find a last minute string trio group for our September 1, 2013 wedding a few weeks ago…read more We had assumed that the church either had a musician available or that we could just hook up an iPod and be on our way. However, we found out that neither was true. I contacted a few musicians and took a chance on Chicago Classic Strings because they were all faculty at local colleges, despite not having reviews online. They had a large selection of songs to choose from - classical to modern pop. At the wedding, we had a slight delay with the actual ceremony due to a wardrobe malfunction of one of the bridesmaids, but our string trio played extra songs during the prelude until the bridal party was ready to go. Guests commented on great they sounded, and the songs were done beautifully. We even asked them to modify the recessional song to play a little more up-tempo, and they accommodated without issue. Chicago Classic Strings really set a great tone for the wedding ceremony, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for strings!
