I went to Mount Sinai because of a workplace injury. I did not enjoy my experience there at all…read more Dr. Elizabeth Rubano was my doctor. She barely spoke to me about my symptoms and after waiting for hours to be seen, shoe didn't even take her time to go over the results of bloodwork and procedure. Thankfully the discharge paperwork had some additional information I was able to use to have a better understanding. I tried to call the following night and the gentleman who picked up was rude and unprofessional. He had an attitude because I asked to speak to the doctor and requested an email or number I could reach her to see if I could request an additional day to recover. By the end of the conversation, he young up on me. This hospital has odd systems, they aren't efficient, bedside manner is not great overall and it's not a very clean facility. From the looks of it, many of the patients there are of minority populations. I wonder if the service there would be more pleasant had the majority been of a different race. Please do better Mount Sinai and Dr. Rubano. I do want to say, there was one nurse (I did not catch her name). She performed my EKG, she was very pleasant and tried her best to help me. Too bad the rest of the staff appeared to care less. I do hope I won't have to come to this hospital again.

My first review was written over 10 years ago. In TEN YEARS NOTHING HAS IMPROVED I was brought here…read moreby ambulance again in November 2024 and They put me in the middle of the emergency room on a stretcher with NO curtain and they pushed me around and banged into me the entire time I was there., It took them FORTY ONE HOURS TO ADMIT ME over a day and a half waiting on a stretcher with an IV Line AND a CATHETER and these people just let me lay there. I was only moved upstairs after I complained loudly to the 'administrator" who was extremely BLIND to what is going on in this ER SHe was BUSY SHowing what looked like INVESTORS around the place looking for donations rather than CARING ABOUT THE PATIENTS While I waited in eternity another man who was there at least 24 hours also in the hall like me-yelled he is LEAVING TAKE OUT MY IV. He started to pull on his arm and then and ONLY THEN did the nurses bother to come over. But they wouldnt let him leave. They refused to tell him who was his doctor, when he would be admitted. He said you better let me LEAVE I will go to ANOTHER HOSPITAL and they again protested. He ALSO dialed 911 and ONLY THEN DID THEY REMOVE THE IV. I complained others were admitted WAY BEFORE ME-and I could not get any answers. AFTER ADMISSION-the "ATTENDING" who was listed on my chart NEVER CAME IN 10 DAYS NOT ONCE The nurses said "we called and called him we never see him" TOTALLY IRRESONSIBLE And gross negligence! NOTHING HAS IMPROVED HERE OH=- and the KITCHEN CHEATED ME out of FOOD at every single meal. I submitted my online form-and about 40% Of what I ordered and they billed my insurance for was MISSING EVERRY TIME I called and complained and they said "WE ARE BUSY and HUNG UP". If you expect PRIVACY and them to ADHERE TO HIPPA FORGET IT! WHY IS IT NO DEMOCRATIC POLOTICIANS EVER IN VESTIGATE EMERGENCY ROOMS - SAME FOR THE NEWS. If you REPORT ABUSE they IGNORE YOU

This place runs like a piece of well-oiled machinery!…read more I was having an issue and started off by doing a virtual urgent care appointment. Urgent Care directed me to the ER, because my symptoms were "life-threatening". (*Uuuuugggghhh*) Fine. So I head up the block to NYU Langone. The front desk crew ask for a quick summary of what's up with me. I blurt out my issues. They slap a bracelet on my wrist, hand me some papers and tell me to sit down. Okey dokey. Five minutes later, I'm called by a nurse into Triage. In Triage, I give a longer version of what's up with me, at the moment. They offer me a bed to sit on, and hook me up with "Ms. Joy"; a beautiful Jamaican woman who was the sweetest lady you could ever come across. She gave me an EKG that took about 0.3 seconds, she took my vitals, and then I was led in the back to the ER. I had a seat on a new bed. By this time, I had only been in the building for a maximum of 15 minutes, total. My assigned nurse was waiting for me to confirm all my information. When she finished up, a team of three young doctors shuffled over to me to collect my information, symptoms and history. They left to place their orders for me, I stayed seated and waited it out. About ten minutes later, a phlebotomist stopped by to pull a few vials of blood from me. About 20 minutes later, my phone starts blowing up with notifications; My results are in from the blood they just took from me, and they're posted in the MyChart app! So, I start checking out my results and as any good hypochondriac would do, I start Dr. Googling them. (Spoiler alert: I'm going to live) Next, a lovely young lady scoots a wheelchair over to my bed and asks me to have a seat, as she's planning on driving me over to radiology to X-Ray my chest cavity. Easy Peasy - a total of 10 minutes, tops. When I'm wheeled back to my bed, my assigned nurse rolls a sonogram machine over to me and lets me know what's going on, next. Beep, Bop, Boop - Easy Peasy, yet again. At this time, I'm clockin' in at about two hours. I've had extensive lab work done, radiology work done, and sonography work done. I've had contact with nurses, doctors, CNA's, phlebotomists and sonographer. That's some fluidity! One of the doctors comes by to let me know that my tests were good, I'm good, I'm built like a cockroach and you can't kill me - I'll live forever. She excuses herself to get my discharge papers ready, another nurse stops by to remove the tourniquet from my arm, and that was that; I was ready to roll. I've been dealt a crummy 'Health Card' - I've spent A LOT of time in Emergency Rooms and Hospitals. The care I received at NYU Langone within those two hours would have taken approximately 6 hours in another hospital, EASY. I *dread* going to ER's because I despise the waiting! They made the waiting so minimal, and so easy to endure - It wasn't that bad! I really liked how they handled everything. Handling my care, ordering my tests, scooting me to radiology and back, the sonographer's professionalism; It was all immaculate. Wonderful experience. Top notch.

No one was on line, so I headed to the front desk and checked in with a lovely lady behind the counter. We confirmed all my information within 30 seconds, and I had a seat in the waiting area. I didn't even get a chance to take my coat off, and I heard my name called by a Radiology Tech. Scooped up my phone and wallet and followed the tech down the hallway. The CT scan was "open". The tech directed me on where to have a seat, place my head and direct my feet and she walked away. Less than three seconds later, a Radiologist came in to run through the directions on listening to the machine prompts. He elevated my "plank", and then he headed out. Breathe in and hold. Breathe regularly. Breathe in and hold. Breathe regularly. Breathe in and hold. Breathe regularly. (90 seconds, max.) My plank started to lower and the Radiologist reentered the room. We thanked each other, I scooped up my coat, phone and wallet and headed out. From check in to exit, the entire experience didn't exceed 5 minutes, and I'm being 100% honest. Five Stars - If I lived closer, I'd use this Radiology office for *all* my imaging.
