The guy who was there seemed nice but I went to drop off a UPS return with a prepaid label and asked for a receipt which he said he couldn't issue me. There were boxes FILLING the tiny space and I had read a review about someone else's box going unaccounted for so I was uncomfortable leaving a $1,000+ item there with no record of it being mailed. I feel like if you're a UPS partner, issuing a receipt for a drop off should be a standard service. read more

I have not stood in line at the Post Office since I discovered this place. They compare the prices to ship your item and allow you to pick whichever service you'd like to use. They've even given me a used box to package my items in for free! They always print a label for you and they store the addresses you ship to in their computer so your address book is already there. I even once had my brother's new zip code down wrong and they corrected me. My mom had shipped things to the wrong zip code through the post office and had no idea! (Luckily her things still there). Bottom line: this place is friendly, fast, and helpful. This place is Roscoe Village's best kept secret. I've been going here for years for UPS, FedEx, DHL, Speedy (local delivery) and USPS. This place is a one-stop-shop. I always find myself needing to ship items but I don't have the right sized box or packing material. At Chicago Shipping store, I can purchase the box and packing material and have my item professionally packaged and shipped right there in the store. Been using this place for about 2 years now. Very nice people and improving service over the period. Downsides are that it seems to have changed hands a couple times in the two years (however, each subsequent owner says the other guys were just "employees") and sometimes seems a bit difficult to get good comparison pricing when trying to do a shipment and you're looking to get a competitive rate. They recycle boxes, try to get you a used one before breaking out a new one and charging you for it. They accept packages for those of us that have wine or valuables shipped. I hope they keep working on improvement, but I can give a good recommendation. read more

I went to this place as I have been disgruntled with my local post office. I am an accountant and I just found out that I have all my postal services for a slightly higher mark up WITHOUT THE DANG LINE!!!!!!!! I am so happy about that, but it doesn't end there, they offer mailbox rentals at half the cost of UPS stores, HUH! WHAT! Avoid! Run! AVoid and run some more. I had the most toxic customer service experience I've ever had at this dreadful, infuriating place. I dropped off a package on a Monday and by that Thursday there was no record of it being in the FedEx system. I was returning a purchase that cost $130! When I went in to ask what might have hapened, the guy behind the counter acted as if he couldn't care less. He offered no remedy and instead kept repeating in the nastiest tone, what do you want me to do about it? Uh, figure out what happened to my package. I was shocked by the cold way he was responding. I said, why don't you tell me how I, as the customer, should react to being told you don't give a crap and won't do anything about it. He said, "actually you're not" the customer!!!!!!. I couldn't bare anymore and just left, shaking with anger. At drop-off, I asked for some sort of receipt. He told me he didn't offer receipts and that, if I wanted one, I should go somewhere else. Mind you, I lugged a HUGE box into his dump. I'm in my 50s. It was literally the most sour, rudest customer service experience I've ever had. read more

They are always willing to print a label for you if needed and today they even helped me out when I needed extra tape on my box which they normally charge for but let me slide this time around. I have been with Mailbox Plus for over 3 years now. I don't really know what I would do without them. They have always been on top of notifying me with my deliveries. Their rates are very inexpensive, and they offer great deals on mailbox rentals if you pre-pay. Daniel has extended himself without warrant, and has helped me on numerous occasions; finding best ways for freight shipping, third party vendors, and even assisted me on fraudulent shipping issues. They even stayed open and waited for me to pick up an important package. They are constantly upgrading their space and services, and fit well into the neighborhood. This a probably the best service I could have found, and I am so delighted to be doing business with them. read more

I've been using Chicago Shipping for many years. Jae is always friendly and incredibly helpful. I won't ship anything through the post office anymore as Jae is a much better alternative. I'm not sure why anyone would consider using the post office when there's an option like this out there. I went to Chicago Shipping Store because I needed a post box and a place to accept packages for me. Jay and his team did a perfect job with this and more. They are always super helpful and there is never a line like at the post office. This is surprising since their prices are really reasonable. You can park right in front of the store or stop by on a dog walk. Jay was really accommodating for helping out if you are running late (they are open to 6pm anyway and open saturdays) and can do faxes for you. Chicago Shipping Store is a great alternative to the post office if your looking for a local, affordable place to do mail. They even text or call you if you want when your package arrives! read more

I'm leaving Roscoe Village soon, and this is one place I'll definitely miss! Jae is friendly, helpful and takes a lot of care in assisting customers. I recently mailed a mother's day gift, and he even cut the box down to size to pack it more carefully. Sometimes it can be difficult to get deliveries at my apartment, so I get items sent here and pick them up for a small fee. It's worth it for the peace of mind, and I always get a text message when items arrive. Plus, it always brightens my day to see his cute dog hanging out in the armchair by the window! read more
