This place reminds me of Better Call Saul's office in the back of the nail salon. There are no set prices for anything, and they basically will notarize anything if the price is right. They will negotiate a price. I needed real estate docs notarized, and the bank and UPS will not do them, so they were real quick and got the job done. read more

Just wanted to come and confirm the arbitrariness of their pricing scheme for simple notary documents. Came into to get an absentee ballot notarized. Having read the yelp reviews before hand, I knew to ask about the pricing upfront. The lady who came to help said "For this, $5." At that point I said, "No, thanks" and left. Went down two blocks away to UPS who charged $1 per signature. Note on UPS, it seems that each notary at UPS charges something different. The one on Michigan near Roosevelt was charging $15 per signature. So make sure you ask upfront. read more

This place discriminates against people depending on the document. They are not supposed to read anything, just ensure the person singing has proper ID and then sign themselves. I caught their notary reading the first page of the document asking if it was a religious document (which it wasn't) and then refused to notarize saying they don't do these types of notary (I can only assume for xenophobic reasons). Completely rude and unprofessional staff. UPS will notarize anything for a few dollars and not discriminate. Don't waste your time here! read more

This place is as shady as it gets. There is no priced menu, trying to take advantage of a person who needs to get notarized a lot of documents. Try to fake a phone call to make it seems like its going to be difficult and surcharge you for more than what it should. Asking you where you can from so the people who recommended you get pay under the table. I have no proof of this happening but when everyone recommends you to come here while you can get notarized at the bank, it seems very sketchy. Lesson: Don't be on the phone if you're with a customer, that's just rude. read more

This place is a total scam. It's incredible that such a business can legally certify documents. Their prices are totally made up. The employees call their boss to ask how much to charge for various signatures and then he just creates a price out of thin air. They will not quote you a price until they've texted the details to their boss. When I asked for a list of prices, they said it does not exist. Giving this 1 star because he's a reliable notary, however, he ATTEMPTED to charge me $10 PER SIGNATURE. We were desperate, UPS doesn't do Real Estate documents, & the manager at both our banks (whom is the notary) wasn't in that day. I literally yelped back $10 per signature when he said it. Then he only charged me $5. I told him I use to be a notary & he knows that's highway robbery. We paid the $5 because we would have wasted the gas going elsewhere. He stated that he had to pay employees. My response, "Sir, if you depend on notary signatures to make money, then you need to close." Truly what you call "take advantage of." Clearly he makes money for doing other overseas documentation, not being a notary! read more

I called ahead to ensure they were able to complete i9 notary as UPS does not offer this service. First charge quoted was $75! All I needed was the I9 form signed and then one additional form signed with notary stamp stating that they reviewed my document. I was able to get them down to $40- honestly would have left except I was in a time crunch and really needed this done. I would not recommend- they are a rip off. The man who completed the notary told me to wait until his employees were done eating, walked away a couple of times with my passport in hand- to which I followed because that's weird. It would be nice if pricing was available online as it seems they make it up depending on who the customer is. read more

NOTARIZE ME I was looking for a good notary and this location showed up in my search. I decided to read a few reviews and it seems like everyone had great experiences. I then called to find out how much it would cost to notarize my document. I spoke with Mr Shah on the phone and he asked me several questions. He determined it would only cost me $5. He was very professional on the phone and I could tell he knew what he was doing. Now I must admit I decided to call a UPS location. A guy named Dino answered and he told me he would notarize my document for a dollar. Which sounded like a great deal until he mentioned it would be an additional $9 to review my document. What? Review it? Is Dino from UPS a lawyer too? I don't think so. In the end UPS was going to be $10. At this point I had my random sample of what a notary costs and headed here. When I walked in, it was quite crazy inside but entertaining. Mr. Shah was working on a big notary case and it involved real estate & death. I was impressed with his professionalism and how he made sure everything was legal as he proceeded. He even consulted with a lawyer prior to notarizing the documents. What I enjoyed was his big heart. He treated the customers with so much love and respect. It was incredible to watch and experience the moment. His staff was also very nice too. They invited me in behind the counter to have a seat instead of leaving me standing in the walkway of the mall. The attention to customer satisfaction was really high. While waiting I noticed that they also shot passport photos. I loved how they let the client look at her photos and when she wasn't happy with how her hair looked, they shot the photos again. Again great customer service. I could clearly see why this place had such a great rating. After Mr Shah finished up, he then turned his attention to me. He remembered me from the phone call. He looked at my document which was very small and we started stamping and signing. He recommended we go with blue ink so that no one could steal our signatures. I totally loved the secret spy references. I am starting to think being a Notary is an exciting lifestyle. Maybe I need to make a career change. I could work as Mr. Shah's apprentice or something. Okay I know that is crazy talk but for the short time I was here it was an entertaining experience. Mr. Shah was honest and charged me what he quoted me on the phone. There were no surprises or hidden fees. I also must admit that I didn't want to leave. He was so nice. We shook hands and he blessed me and wished that I would make much money. I would have hugged Mr. Shah if there wasn't a counter separating the two of us. He is much more then a person signing documents. He shares his peaceful loving presence and passes those feelings off to you as you walk away. Now I really don't want to leave. I wish I needed to have something notarized daily just so I could visit here. If you are looking for a notary then look no further. This is the place. Got my fingerprinting done with LiveScan for a professional license application. I received notice that the fingerprinting scan was poor quality and it was rejected so I need to redo the scan. I noticed during my scan that all the fingerprints were scanning in red, but the tech was overriding them. My issue is that when I called to see if I can come in for rescan the employee informed me I would be charged again for their mistake. I will go somewhere else with my service and have informed all of my colleagues to go somewhere else as well. read more

I had one page that I needed to sign twice to be a ride along in a commercial truck. And they wanted to charge $10! When I told the guy no thanks, he tried to negotiate down to $5. The answer from the beginning should have been $2, at most. In Illinois by law, a notary cannot charge more than $1 to simply notarize each signature. Notaries can charge more for immigration application and real estate transactions (see section 3-104 of the Illinois Notary Public Act). read more

I was at this business today to get a document notarized. Two East Asian women were in line ahead of me. An elderly South Asian man (Mr Shah I believe) was tending to them. They paid the fee for the notary, signed the document and the man yelled at them "MOVE BACK!" I was startled at the unprofessionalism because no one should speak to anyone in that manner, especially in a business setting. He then proceeds to tell these 2 women that they were spreading the "China virus." He continued to shout "CORONA, CORONA!" I was stunned by the display of blatant and overt racism. I and others in line left. I refuse to show support to any business that chooses to show hate to any group of human beings simply because of their ethnicity. read more

The service was fine, but the pricing seems totally arbitrary.. definitely feel like I got ripped off. I went there because the positive reviews and website said it was cheap and efficient but there doesn't seem to be any standard pricing. I should have read the negative reviews, now that I looked more closely it sounds a lot like my experience. The woman working had to call her boss (presumably Mr. Shah) to see if she could notarize the documents I had. That already seemed kind of unusual. He told her it would be $50 for my 3 documents. I paid it because I had already waited for 10 minutes (they didn't open until ~8:20 when the guy with the key showed up - all the employees had been sitting on the chairs in the lobby) and was already late in sending in the documents. Not recommended for notary. By the way, the website says they charge $9 for black ink fingerprints but I overheard the exchange with another customer and they told him it would be $57 cash or $59 credit. I'm sure it's a situation where certain kinds of fingerprints are cheaper, but not having transparent pricing just makes everything seem like a scam. read more

Never again. I was naive and didn't do my research into what typical notary services cost. The website advertises "starting at $1" but they charged me much more. It was a whirlwind and I never asked for a pricing sheet or got an understanding of what I paid for. Too embarrassed to even disclose what I paid, but whether it was by document, signature, even page number, I paid far too much compared to other services. At best, I feel salty. At worst, I feel scammed, which makes me doubt the validity of the notary to begin with. I can't believe this office is rated 4 stars- I should have read Yelp closer as well, as other scamming reviews were buried underneath some of the 5 star reviews. read more

Very abusive person. He harassed and yelled at his lady employee in front of everyone. He charged me $5 per page, while other's charge $1 per page in the area. Given that he was screaming at the top of his lungs, I paid and left the place without argument. I'll never visit this place ever, big mistake. Of all the reviews I expected to write, "Notary Public Service" was not very high on the list. Mr. Shah was able to notarize my documents at a very, very fair price and the entire process was under ten minutes. I needed to have documents signed in front of a notary with two witnesses. I couldn't get it done on my first four attempts. My bank's notary wouldn't notarize certain types of documents; a branch of the bank would not allow its employees to serve as witnesses; another wanted $100 for two notarizations, and another was not licensed in IL but AZ. All this despite my calling ahead to confirm they could sign such documents. By this time, I felt bad for taking my witnesses on a wild goose chase. Finally and luckily, I found the notaries at 210 S Clark at Adams & Clark in the Loop who said they'd sign the docs and! provide the witnesses. They knew the laws, they work with lawyers, and they were very familiar with the documents. It was so easy. I was in and out in 20 minutes. read more
