Maid Brigade is terrible, do not use them. I hired them for a deep clean of a home I needed to get on the market. The house looked like a bunch of 8-year-olds cleaned it with streaks on the cabinets, food left on the stove and items on their check list that were not cleaned. When I complained to management, their solution was to send the crew back to do a crappy job again. I ended up paying them a lot of money to have to take a day off of work and clean the home myself just to get the house listed. It was a huge waste of time and money hiring maid brigade. read more

I have had them come out about 8 times now and each time has been great and a treat to come home to a clean house. They truly go above and beyond. DO NOT USE. We hired them to do a deep clean in preperation for selling our house. Long story short, they did a poor surface clean of our home. They left dead flies on our window sills. Dust on on counter tops. Shelves were left dusty. floors were vacuumed but not mopped (hardwood floors), among many other details you would think would be covered. After disputing the charge, I was told they would come back to finish, but we had already completed their job for them. If you want to play hundreds of dollars and still clean your home, this is a service for you. read more

When getting an estimate, the office team was pleasant and helpful. They did not set any prices as they had not seen my home, but they gave me fair and decent estimates. They never made any promises that they did not keep. Cleaners showed up within the 3 hour window that I was quoted and started working immediately. Everything sparkles! We have 2 pugs, a very old dog, 2 birds and a cat and nearly every piece of fur that is not attached to a critter is gone! They were nice, professional, efficient and cleaned places that I would not even have thought of. I spent hours cleaning my shower and could never get the "stains" out. Well, they did! Our place was bigger (or messier) than they expected so they sent in a 3rd cleaner. The supervisor came to make sure we were ok with the overage charge but it is still within our initial estimated price (which was a pretty wide range). There is no possible way I could ever have the whole house this clean at one time. When you work full time, once you finish the third task, the first thing you cleaned is dirty. Now I WILL be able to keep up with laundry and have energy to spend on other things that I value more. I plan to have Maid Brigade come in once a month. Bad experience - so ashamed of how much a one-time clean cost us and the cleaners ruined a rug that we had to throw away. Our quote for a one-time clean for a tiny (less than 1000 sq ft) house was $179-298. Like other reviewers, we were charged the highest possible amount (over $320 with tax). We waited outside the back door to meet with the supervisor during the cleaning, but she came and left through the front door and we didn't get to walk through the house with her as promised - maybe just miscommunication, but frustrating. Cleaners were lovely young women, and we were pleased for the most part with the cleaning- spots were missed, they didn't do some of what we'd hoped, but had it been half the price would have given 3 stars - the cleaning was fine but I'd never hire them again, even at half the price. But in our basement they either washed our shag rug with water or spilled a great deal of water on one corner, and a week later it was covered in black mold. We were out of town and our house sitter sent photos then treated the rug and ground to get rid of mold. Because of the extensive damage to the rug, we had to throw it away. I contacted maid brigade much too late (my fault - we were out of town and just thinking about the excessive cost and bad experience made me feel so angry and ashamed - I kept putting it off to deal with later), asking if there is anything that could be done to make this right. They said no, sorry, nothing. Had I called back the day after the cleaning they say they could have done something. Do not hire them for a one-time clean unless you want so-so service at exorbitant prices. And if you do hire them, do a very thorough check after the cleaning and call right away if anything is wrong - don't make the mistake I did and hope the whole horrible experience will just go away! read more

We own a home in MN. It is a rental / investment property and is located in a Minneapolis suburb. Our tenants moved out on June 6, 2014 and hired a maid service to come and do a "top to bottom cleaning". After our tenants recently moved out, I used the opportunity to make repairs to the property and was there for 2 full weeks. When I arrived at the home I felt that the tenants maid service had done a sub-standard job and decided to hire Maid Brigade to come and do the job again. I received a quote from MB for a range between $398-$568. Obviously, I was expecting the actual cleaning charges to be towards the lower end of the estimate since another service had already done a cleaning and what remained was some detailed work and touch-ups. I also thoroughly scrubbed the carpets while I was there and that was only two days before MB came to do the final cleaning so they didn't even need to bother vacuuming. After Maid Brigade completed the work I received a bill for $603!!!!!! REALLY?!?! What exactly did you do that took that much effort?!?!? There wasn't even any furniture in the house that needed dusting. All of the refrigerators were spotless. Provided below for your reference is a portion of an exert of an email that my wife sent to MB: We used your service, because we were familiar with you. When my husband signed the quotation, it shows a wide range of costs. We had no expectation, based on the fact that it was in pretty good shape when you got there, that you would automatically use the high end of the estimate. To me this is consumer fraud. We are extremely unhappy and the feedback that we received from our property management representative following his inspection of your work really topped off our opinion of Maid Brigade. The fact that your team had to come back the next day really says something as well, in terms of the poor quality of a $600 service! I have no issue warning other consumers with my personal opinion of your services and the pricing scheme you have in place. We really feel taken advantage of, since we weren't present at the completion of the work / service and that is the worst part, after being a regular customer in the past. Obviously the bill is paid and you received your money. I'm left with a very sour taste, especially with your "less than customer service focus" response to my husband. Maid Brigade has a quality guarantee but don't believe it. They are initially responsive and then evasive and disrespectful... nearly condescending after inquiring if a customer is satisfied. Then they return to explain why they didn't meet the quality guarantee. Why? Because they have no intention of meeting the quality guarantee. The owner Quentin was initially responsive to the point of over promising and then justifying what wasn't cleaned. I have an active neighborhood and the supervisor Sue was seen shaking out dirty towels in the front of my home. I would gladly pay the fee for quality cleaning. We've used Maid Brigade for monthly home cleanings for 2+ years now, and have been very happy with the service. I appreciated how they worked with me in the beginning to keep the cost in my budget. There is flexibility, for example I save on my monthly cost by having them skip cleaning our childrens' rooms. Easy for me to just periodically vacuum and dust those rooms, as the bedrooms don't get very dirty. The team always does a great job with the cleaning, and I like having a "green clean" without harsh chemical. Would definitely recommend Maid Brigade! read more

I had a very negative experience with Maid Brigade. I would never recommend this to people, especially those looking for a "move out clean." We hired them to do a move out clean before we list our house and told them they would be coming in on the last day we are there. I provided a list of suggested cleaning areas, but those were not addressed completely, and other things were left completely undone. Examples of insufficient cleaning: Stairs left cobwebby and dirty Sink in basement not cleaned, plenty of crud and dust left for me to pick up Was told my porch could be done, but the cleaning team refused to do it based on some kind of policy (which is fine if they have a policy, but I wasn't told this), so my porch was left muddy and dusty and with bits of trash The splashes on the wall to the left of the sink left there, you know the toothpaste and face wash water that inevitably escapes. I got to scrub that off. Closets left untouched, unmopped, unswept All the little corners in drawers and edges around appliances - you know the stuff that says "thorough" and "I am ready to be on the market" and "I am well cared for" - was ignored. All cabinets left untouched, even though spills were evident in a cabinet we looked at together So here's how this played out. They arrived late, so I had to leave before they are finished. It's holiday time, so I leave what I think is at least a decent tip of $50. When they leave, the lock a part of my door I did not ask them to lock. I get a $140 locksmith bill. I arrive home at night for this portion of the evening, and once I get in I have to start cleaning cupboards, floors, and closets. Y'all. It's late. It's my last night in my home. This is not how I want to spend it. But I have to clean because I leave the next morning and it simply has to get done. I call Heather at Maid Brigade the next day and let her know how this story plays out. I am charged on the higher end of the estimate for the job. That's fine, but it's really starting to feel sour since so much work was left incomplete. The only recourse is a return cleaning I am told. This is a totally inadequate option for me, a "move out clean" because....I have moved out and, given the circumstances, I was already forced to do the re-clean myself. Maybe that's her corporate policy she has to work with. I get it. My experience with Maid Brigade was wonderful! They cleaned my apartment thoroughly when I moved out. The staff were very friendly and professional. They did a walk-through with me when they we done and everything looked great. They told me that if anything hadn't been cleaned to my satisfaction, they would come back within 24 hours and take care of it for free. I would use this service again in a heartbeat. read more

Maid Brigade's service is top-notch. They call a day in advance to confirm arrival time, but are flexible if you are still scurrying out of the home, or even if you ARE home! I had a disability for many months and was unable to work, and they worked around me, which was highly appreciated. They pay attention to details - the small pleasantries are fun to find when you come home (the kleenex and toilet paper are decoratively folded!). My house feels refreshed and so do I when I come home. Maid Brigade staff have been great about us getting a new dog too - they greet her and feed her a few treats in her crate, and now she can be out and about with them. Lastly, there have of course been issues - but they leave a comment card (postage paid) every time, so I can note them, and they will call you back to follow up. They will also send a crew out the following day to fix any errors (although I have never needed this, its nice to know they are accountable). The Green cleaning guarantee is also comforting if you have pets or children. We have been using their service for at least 3 years now - and there was a 5 dollar increase in cost 2x in that period. Do not hire this Maid Service for a move out clean. We hired Maid Brigade in Minneapolis, MN to fully clean our house because we were moving and assumed a professional cleaning service could do a better job than 5 college students. Our assumption was wrong. The day of, we asked that they arrive around 12pm. They gave us a window between 11 & 1. They arrived at our house at 3 and didn't start cleaning until 3:30. They left within an hour and didn't even give us time to do a walk-through. The house was untouched! Dust was still on the hardwood floors, baseboards, and windows. There were definitely spots on the wall that should have been spot cleaned. Crumbs were left in the cupboard, and our basement wasn't even looked at. The only exception was the bathroom, which looked great. We are completely unsatisfied with Maid Brigade and will never hire them again. We paid over $130 for Maid Brigade to clean our bathroom. read more

I am so disappointed! I was really looking forward to my first ever house cleaning. We scheduled a deep clean with the returning monthly service. They came to do a deep clean of most of the house, which somehow only took them a little over 2 hours. That was my first surprise... They did not clean the sunroom, which I asked for, so it actually took me a while to even realize they had been there. Then I started noticing all of the things they missed. I'm really not even very picky, and I am NOT the kind of person to return something unless it's really bad. ... This was so bad. They didn't vacuum behind doors, the kitchen floor wasn't even swept and was still very dirty, the bathrooms weren't dusted, and the list goes on. Literally, I have a list of over 20 things they missed and they are all things that should most definitely have been included. The worst part was the note from the maids saying that there would be a lot of areas that "needed a few times to get really spotless." I'm sorry. I was paying you to make my house spotless! I could have done a shoddy job in a couple hours for much less than 200$. My last complaint is the customer service person: she only offered for them to come back to do a better job, which didn't work for us (guests coming in town next day) and feels very uncomfortable (oh hey, you did a terrible job, come back in my house please). They didn't offer any money back at all and I'm just not the kind of person to push that kind of thing. My husband wants to contest the credit card payment. We honestly never return things, so this was really bad. She also said that these were two cleaners that had been there a long time and "must have had an off day." Jeez! No, thanks.
