No issues with the technician would did spend a bit of time taking the oven apart. He tested the control board and said it was the issue, collected my service fee, then an hour later sent an estimate for more than the price I paid for the oven two years ago. I can look at the part online and they are wanting to charge double, plus $500 for roughly the same labor that they just spent doing for a $65 service fee. So while they were quick to respond and nice enough... I'm still up a creek with less money and more wasted time.

The man who…read morecame out told us our HVAC hasn't been properly cleaned by the other company we used for years, he told us that he needed to use a hose to clean it and our balcony would get flooded with the water. He also said it would take several hours, we weren't able to have him do anything the day of our appointment because we had to leave in 2 hours. He left and said we'd get an email to reschedule our appointment. We didn't get an email so I reached out and never heard back from them. On top of that, our AC stopped working after he left, we hired another company and found out Beckman Bros intentionally broke our unit!

This morning,…read morewhile leaving Grayslake, I was cut off in traffic after making a left-hand turn onto rte 120 from hwy 45. As I was getting up to full speed + at least 10pmh over the speed limit on this stretch of road, I was passed by a van doing at least 70 in a 35-40, then the van slammed on the brakes so that I would have to as well and all of my belongings flew into the front seat; I admit, I wasn't on my best behavior either as I sped up when I noticed what he was obviously & illegally trying to do. This act was followed by continued bullying as we both drove west on 120, with the right lane being closed a short distance ahead due to road construction. The van (picture attached) then drove about 45, riding shotgun next to a construction vehicle, knowing that this vehicle would have to move to the right; he was hoping I would be cut off a second time. When I called the number on the van to report the driver, he laughed at me and called me a "F**king C**t" (when I came into full view of him as he merged onto 94E he was on older gentleman with gray hair & a moustache so I can only assume he was Tom Sr.). I would NOT want this person in my home--NOT ever. He doesn't respect or have regard for others, esp. women or Veterans (I am both--my car is clearly marked with both). We use Advantage Heating & Cooling for all our service needs, and they have always been extremely professional. Maybe that's why they have quite a few 1-star reviews on Google citing erratic driving & rudeness.

I have to give a shout out to Precision Today, particularly to the Grayslake office, formerly…read moreMiller Area Heating and Cooling. They did an absolutely fantastic job installing a new furnace and a/c unit in my house. They far exceeded my expectations and did a more than complete job, replacing everything inside and outside including new electrical, sheet metal, pad , humidifier, electrostatic filter, flue, thermostat and even provided a new condensate pump. I did not expect all that I got and could not ask for more! All this and completed the same day we made the agreement!

Communication lapses do happen, that would have taken 1 star off the review if that was it. But quoting 3x the price for as far as I can see a very similar unit is still mind boggling. My quoting agent sold the known higher costs in general as the value of the 100% satisfaction guarantee, but from what I've read in other reviews, people are having a hard time getting covered repairs or replacements done at all. Again the person contacting me to try to resolve my concerns seemed very sincere, but I still would NOT consider using Precision Today as my HVAC hardware or service provider. Precision Today purchased Miller's Area Heating, which was highly recommended by two different friends. I requested a quote from Precision re: a replacement boiler for the radiant baseboard system in my house. After a good phone response the first day, I had no confirmation to set up the actual quote visit. After a mid-day call to them, they gave me a 3;30-5:00 window that day. At 5:55 I got a call saying the agent was on my doorstep. After reviewing my system, I was quoted $22,000, AFTER DISCOUNTS. My research indicated it should be about $4.000- $9,000 for a new boiler and install. I then read many Yelp reviews and saw reports similar to my experience; bad communication and very very high quotes and charges for relatively simple repairs/replacements. Also bad reports on following through with their lofty guarantees, which I mention because those are the reported reasoning behind their admittedly high prices. Very unfortunate.

The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland! My realtor and inspector both stated it was because the house was "too big" (1500 sq. ft). Very inconvenient in the winter when it's comfortable on the main floor and I would come up to bed and it was a sauna. Over the last couple years, I've had 2 separate HVAC companies come to address this. They changed furnace settings and replaced my thermostat with no luck, so I gave up on fixing it for a while. Jimmy came and fixed my AC same-day this past summer and did great so I asked him to look into this heat issue once it started getting cold. He found the issue; a simple damper adjustment this whole time! He was honest and thorough when explaining what he did. Very fair price and I finally have a comfortable home for my fourth winter living here!
