Just. ... DONT.! When we arrived and checked in, the room door was wide open to let the room breathe. The fumes were horrible from cleaning detergents, and they knew we were bringing a baby. There was a plug receptacle hanging out of the wall with exposed 120v terminals. We left, and went to a different hotel. Wife tried to have the room charge denied by credit card company, but Magnuson refused to return our money, though we didn't stay. I'm a Contractor. Let me start with if I could give this place negative stars, I would. This place absolutely sucked.the pictures are nothing like what it really is which was a dump. Beds were super uncomfortable, shower falling apart, stains on the bedding, filthy doors and walls like nobody cleans, they had a full sized fridge in the room that blocked most of the walkway and was filthy inside. Not to mention the constant noise outside, you will not get a good night's rest. It was OK and another problem was there was breakfast supposed to be at seven we went to get some and the doors were locked, we never ended up getting any breakfast. I've been curious about this place since I first started visiting Cedar City as it looked like cute little bungalows, complete with grills outside. Turns out the inside is fairly dumpy tho :(. Place sets the tone early with HYGIENE AND FOOD STAINS WILL BE MET WITH SEVERE PENALTY signs throughout the lobby. Room cleanliness on the most important surfaces (linen, bathroom, towels, fridge/micro) was fine but clearly corners are never cleaned/furniture never moved. Open half-eaten baggie of Chili Fritos found tucked under the headboard area when doing my bed cleanliness check. Must have been the housekeeper's snack as the sheets were clearly changed, I dunno how you'd miss that while changing them! Building is just very old and rooms are decades past needing a refurb, walls seem pretty clearly never cleaned, lots of little deferred maintenance things like sockets hanging out the walls and the occasional lamp that doesn't work, etc Coffee and breakfast supposed to be out at 7:30, that's pretty late already but the office was still locked up and dark at 7:45. I gave up trying after that. What really tore it though was the 4 PM check-in, 10 AM checkout. 10 AM man, get real. Some of these hotels wilin now. read more

I have stayed at this place 3 times while snowboarding at Brianhead. Very dumpy, but it gets the job done. Watch out for your deposit. The owner tells you it is automatically returned upon check-out. It is now. This is the third time I will be calling asking when my deposit will be returned. Once you call, it is returned. The reviews of this place are quite bad, so I was weary. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Sure, it could use some upgrades and some other additional details, but for a one night stay on the road it does the trick. One big plus is it's in walking distance to the best wood fired pizza place in Utah (Centro), as well as other good spots for coffee and other essentials. So I got this hotel room off of Hotwire so when renting it I didn't do it based upon reviews or word of mouth. Start off When I checked in I had to stand outside the office bc their lobby isn't open at night I stood outside for about 10 minutes then finally called because no one was coming. I got charged 85 for the room then 50 for myself and 50 for my 12 year old daughter... so be ready for the extra charges for the room you already rented. The parking is super cramped and difficult to get out of once you pull in. Once we were in the room it gave me total psycho vibes to the point I felt the need to tell my family members who were not with me my exact address so if I went missing they knew where to look. When I went to dead bolt the door I found out that on top of the creepy room I couldn't make the room safe for my daughter and myself so I had to prop a chair and a table in front of the door. Then I told my daughter to go wash her face and brush her teeth which she started screaming due to the dead bug in the sink. All the windows were shut so that tells me the room wasnt cleaned too thoroughly. I ended up getting a very restless 5 hours of sleep before I gave up and just left the room with my daughter because both of us were creeped out. When packing up my car I thought I had left my wallet in the room so I stared check under the bed... it was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Something sticky was under there along with plenty of dirt, dust and garbage. Oh and a few dirty socks that were neither my daughters of mine as both of us were wearing sandals and didn't pack socks. Shame on this hotel for charging people $300 for dirty linens when that can't properly clean a room!!! Especially considering the last 2 years of being in a pandemic and the huge focus on hygiene. I'm a nurse and not much turns my stomach... this place made me nauseous! They should be reported to the public health department. While we were travelling Cedar City Utah. We find this hotel. The room was nicely updated & decorated. The mattress was new & very comfortable after hiking whole day to sleep in. I slept like a baby whole night. The front desk person was highly professional & friendly. The breakfast was nice to start the day. Overall, we felt satisfied with our stay & their services. The front desk person was insanely rude to me and the guest. Constantly was yelling at us and wasn't understanding at all. I've never stayed somewhere in such a nice town and get treated poorly. Their was blood on one of our beds and we tried to tell them and he then said it was one of ours. I hope none of you guys stay here u will regret it. Also didn't get our deposit back because we were slamming the doors but in our two rooms the bathroom door dosent fit the frame of it and u have to pull externally hard to get in and out. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE HOTEL EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD! We were checked into an extremely dirty room. The toilet was disgusting. We couldn't even use it. It had old dried up pee, poop, and hair all over it. I called the front desk lady to have her come clean it. She came to clean it, lifted the toilet seat and told us we needed to move to another room because of how gross it was. She took us to another room that was even WORSE than that one. We told her we wanted a refund because the rooms were so disgusting. She freaked out on us, was extremely unprofessional and rude, and told us she would not refund us. She also took the keys and wouldn't let us into the room then disappeared into the back. She wouldn't answer the phone or come back out. So we were out a refund and the room. We had to call the police and get them involved. We left and found another hotel that was way nicer and cheaper with awesome customer service. We were also charged a $100 deposit, TWICE! I understand that room rates can go up when the town is nearly sold out, but it's fair to expect something decent for your money. The property is extremely old and the A/C made a terrible sound all night long, of course when we shut it off to try and sleep, the room got hot. There is no bathroom counter to really be able to place any items. We decided we didn't want to stay any longer than necessary and attempted to cancel the last night. I called the front desk who told me to call the 3rd party, HOTELS.COM, they had to help me. I called them, they called the property directly as we paid the hotel when we arrived, and the hotel refused to give us a refund. I went to the front desk, who tried to tell me it was the 3rd party. At any rate, this hole isn't worth 49.00 a night let alone 278.00 a night. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Sleep in your car if you have to! read more

HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, NASTY PLACE! We booked our room through booking.com. and spent $235 for 2 nights. We drove 3.5 hours for classic car show here in Cedar. Our rod has no a/c and it was 100° outside. Anyway, when we got to the hotel both front desk clerks allowed us to cool our grandkids down in the lobby area and even let us check in an hour early. We thought, wow...this is so nice of them. We couldn't have been more wrong about them. My granddaughter is 1 and we let her walk on the floor of our room barefoot, 2 minutes later her feet were BLACK! We were so exhausted from the heat i thought, we'll let it pass and since the folks up front had been so nice I figured I would go buy a cheap broom and mop to clean the floors myself. About an hour in we went to put our granddaughter down for a nap. We pulled the blankets and sheets back only to find BLACK MOLD on the mattress cover and sheet. I finally had enough and went to the front desk to ask to be moved rooms because my brothers room wasn't bad at all. The lady up front told me she would be over to come look at the problem like she didn't believe the pictures I showed her ...she never showed. I went back to the front desk and encountered the male clerk (who was being a condescending a$$ to another gentleman that was checking in). I ask him again if we could be moved rooms and he also told me that he'd be right over to inspect the problem. 30 minutes later he showed up with a clean or close to clean mattress cover. I told him that this wasn't going to be good enough and he immediately jumped up and said "well then you can check and fight with booking about your money...GET OUT!". So we took the kids and left that disgusting place without hesitation. Now booking tells us that since we paid at the hotel they cannot refund our money and that it's up to the owners/front desk clerks whether or not they want to refund our money! NEVER EVER AGAIN! Should be 0 stars. I only looked on Google maps for reviews... wow wish I would have looked on Yelp the reviews here sound like the real deal. Short version, basically I was ripped off and charged for a night I didn't stay there. Long version: I called in to make a reservation the night of. I was told they had many rooms available but I decided to book a room as it was a very cold night and I didn't want to risk not having a room as I was passing through. I gave my information to book the room, and then let the person know I would be arriving around 10:15pm. They told me I could not check in past 10pm so I asked to cancel the room, they said OK. Well, guess what, my credit card was charged and never refunded. I called a couple of weeks later and spoke with the same woman who I booked with and she told me "you cancelled your reservation the day of, so you have to pay" I explained the situation and that I had spoken with her... she said they do indeed do late check-ins until 11 if you ask... however when I booked the room I asked this and she said she explicitly said she couldn't accommodate a past 10pm check-in. I cancelled the reservation during the same phone call!!! after finding out I wouldn't make check in.It is not like I had made a reservation even the day before and then cancelled, it was the same phone call. I was told by her she could do nothing but would have manager contact me. a week later still nothing.. I just called back and spoke with someone else. He couldn't do anything for me "since he didn't make the reservation" but would "leave a note for the manager" since the manager is out of the country for at least another week. I requested if they could try and contact the person in addition to "leaving a note" I am not holding out hope, and I am assuming they are stalling until I give up and let them keep my money. I am going to take this up with my credit card company, I really do not want them getting ANY money from this!! I really don't like writing these reviews, but I had such a horrible experience. I want to warn others before choosing this place. I made a reservation for Labor Day Weekend on Expedia, and when I arrived to check-in, the lady at the front desk asked me how many people will be staying. I told her 3 if you include my 3 year old daughter. She said the room I booked can only accommodate 2 people (1 King bed), and I told her I understand. I will pay the difference to upgrade to a room with 2 queen beds. She rudely told me I need to make that change through Expedia. I reached out to Expedia, and the Expedia rep told me she was unable to make the change because the reservation is already "in progress" since it was after my check-in time. Makes sense to me, so I let the lady at the front desk know the Expedia rep can't make the change, and that she will have to do it. She told me, "Hold on, I need the other guy here to look at it." Meanwhile, the Expedia rep called the motel to explain to them they would need to update the reservation. The other man working the front desk that answered the phone did not give her a chance to explain, told her "no refunds, we're fully booked" and hung up. Mind you, they were not fully booked because two more people walked in while I was trying to sort this out and booked rooms with 2 queen beds. The Expedia rep called again and spoke to the woman this time. The woman told her there's nothing she can do and to just send her an email. I realized we were getting nowhere and asked the lady at the front desk what we can do to resolve this. She said she had one room left and she needs the Expedia rep to make the change for me. She refused to talk to me about the reservation. At this point I had been going back and forth with these people for 45 minutes. My husband and 3 year old (who had to pee to make matters worse) are in the car waiting this entire time. I walked out, and we are currently driving back home to Las Vegas. I don't want to get stuck with two hotel bills for the weekend because I have zero confidence these people who refused to let me check into the room I paid for and refused to help modify my reservation are going to refund my money. How hard can it be to do a room change and charge me for the difference? Anyways, stay away from this place. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced, and they ruined all the plans we had for the weekend. read more

The staff was friendly. Too bad the room smelled like body odor, specifically, smelly arm pits, cigarette smoke, and there were spider webs under the air conditioner unit in the room. The beds were really high on metal pedestals. We had half a roll of toilet paper. There was a sign that they charge extra for "stains." I was worried I'd get charged for every little thing they felt was wrong so I slept on top of the covers. I booked through Hotels.com but the my card was charged $70.00. Still waiting to see if I get that back. They had dispensers for hand soap and shampoo in the shower and sink. When we arrived at 6:30ish pm, the lobby door was locked so I was pushing the doorbell. Finally, called to get someone to check in. I was totally uncomfortable staying at this place and the stench of the room permeated my clothes. Hotel room was very dirty, had outlets falling out of walls, heating unit is falling out of wall loosely, dust in heating unit and my son has asthma so we didnt use it, there was a note on the desk stating if the room was dirty to get a towel from front desk and wipe it off, door was loose, the bathroom had missing tiles and given the state of the room decided against the free breakfast included with purchase, i drove for 9 hours and didnt take a shower because i dont trust the cleanliness of the linens. For comparison I was charged $300 a day at a huntington beach hotel that included a valet, access to beach supplies, a bar, a restaurant, a fire pit to cook marshmallow on, a giant chess board in the lobby and had a marvelous experience, here I was charged $240 and was told to clean a room after I paid for it. This place is a dump and should be $60 a night. Imagine paying for a new car but the dealership left it filthy and said here is a bucket clean it yourself. My family and I had a place to sleep and that is the only positive thing I can say. My family loves hotels and this is the first one we couldn't leave soon enough we all got up at 7:00 a.m. and left. You shouldn't gouge for money just because it is spring break season this place deserves whatever Karma comes its way. read more

First off, wow. I have never been treated so poorly by staff at a motel. We walked into our room and layed down to discover there was blood on one of our beds. Secondly i could not get another key to my room since the key was demagnatized before getting told to "get the fuck out." When asked why, i was told we were slamming doors in the middle of the night. Third, the door to the bathroom was hard to get in and out of because it wasnt fitted to the frame of the door properly. March 26, 2021, We needed a room late Friday night for 2 queen beds, 3 people and were quoted $230 (price gouging, but we were desperate, a far cry from the $89 advertised online) and received confirmation number. I would give this motel a zero if I could. The manager keeps your card on file and charges it without your consent after your stay. For a small stain on the top sheet, the manager charged $325 because if one sheet was soiled, they had to "throw out the whole set." The sheets were cheap and felt like sand paper. I lived in this motel for around 6 months. We rented 2 rooms for 4 people. When we first moved in they were friendly. There was a stained kinda gross looking chair in one of our rooms. We asked them for a different chair. Again they were friendly and traded chairs. They charged us a different $100 deposit each time we made a payment with a different payment method . Twice different cards were used and 1 time cash. We got charged $300 in deposits that we were told that we would get back when we checked out. The 2nd room also got $300 in deposits from using different payment methods. They were also told they would get their whole deposits back upon check-out. They wouldn't let us have clean sheets or towels. She washed them and gave the same ones back. They limited our visitor time, we could not have visitors whenever we wanted. According to them we could only have 1 visitor per Room and only between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. They were quite rude and said this was hotel policy. Not posted anywhere. Threatened to kick us out if we didn't do this. Mind you I didn't have more than 2 visitors at any time. My one friend, had come in the middle of the night a couple times but only because I had nightmares. I explained this to them. We were always quiet and respectful of other people. These visiting hrs were not set before this. Had been there about 2 months at this point when they told them to us. They hardly did room-service. I think we had room service 6 times 6 months we were there. The other room I don't even think got done even six times. When it finally became time for us to check out we had cleaned and asked for the vacuum to vacuum both rooms. They were spotless when we left. They even agreed to this and there was no damage but they still kept all $600 of our deposit- said it was because we had ruined a chair. A chair that was just in the one room and it was like that when we got there. In conclusion, this ended up being a horrible place to stay, very dirty very rude people.This did work in a pinch however but would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

I booked this hotel, cause my son had a baseball tournament in cedar city, UT. As I'm paying for the room, the owner asks if there's anyone else other then my wife. I said yes my two boys. So the total came to $79.81 for a room that came with two Queen size beds. Well the next day when we check out, we hand in our card keys go to our boys tournament. In hour after we left, I check to see if they took the payment, they did $129.97. We call to find out why it went from $79.81 to $129.97, and he said it's because I had my to kids. Witch I told him the day before that I had my two kids, cause he asked. That's why we got a room with two queen size beds. So he's saying I didn't tell him I had my two kids, and he's not giving us the remainder of our money. So we get into a heated argument, he runs to get his dog, and Threaten us that he's gonna let his dog bit us if we don't leave. So we left, it wasn't worth fighting with this owner.
