Next time we will bring our own silverware (the plastic knife & fork works but not well). If you are eating at the Marina they give you a plate (rather than eating from the Togo container). Only wish - would have loved some German red cabbage with the meal. Yep and a cold beer or two.

Coming from all over Florida, they were throwing down everything imaginable, from gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches to gourmet alligator to gourmet jambalaya...and don't even get me started on the desserts. Yes...it was nothing less than a Yelpers wet dream, and I'm so ecstatic to have been a part of it! Entree: I was practically jumping for joy when I found a food truck serving up fresh arepas (Apps Food Truck), since I'm a huge fan of the ones served at Tres Leches in Riverside. I went with the "Arepas Con Choclo," which consisted of melted white queso between two corn cakes and topped with pieces of thick cut bacon. It proved a very wise choice because it was absolutely divine. Made fresh to order, the saltiness and crunch from the bacon paired wonderfully with the hint of sweet from the corn cakes, with the bubbly cheese as the kicker. These arepas were also considerably larger than the ones at Tres Leches and cheaper at $5 a plate. Dessert: The day was hot and humid, so I was in the market for some light frosty refreshment....not that I wasn't tempted by the vast selection of other offerings, such as "apple pie pops" and "funnel cake sundaes." The Sweet City Gelato truck had a sign in their window that they were the "Delectable Dessert" winner from their last competition in May. I ordered a cup with 2 flavors, tiramisu and pistachio. With just the FIRST taste of this heavenly concoction I knew they'd be a shoo-in for the "dessert" category finals...if not the clear-cut winner overall. Now, I've had more than my fair share of gelato encounters, but NOTHING as creamy 'n' dreamy as Sweet City. Fresh, flavorful, not the least bit artificial tasting...I honestly couldn't have asked for better. Wrap Up: I thoroughly enjoyed this years event, especially since I was hanging out with some cool people at the Yelp station! We went during the day, and while it was quite hot, we expected that going in. For us, it's not something we'd do again, but it may be a great one-time experience for families with younger children. They also offer a night cruise, which might be a better option during the warmer months when the daytime heat can be intense. They have a bar onboard that serves mixed drinks, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, which is a nice touch for adults. Overall, it was an enjoyable enough experience, but not particularly memorable. I'd rate it as good, but not something I'd go out of my way to do again.

Nights of Lights never fails to amaze me, even after living nearby for 20 years. Visiting the old…read moreneighborhood brought us back, and my husband and I had an enjoyable evening walking around St. Augustine drinking in the history and beautiful lights. We spent a lovely walk around the waterfront, looking at the famous beloved Lions at the bridge and all the way to Flagler College. The Lightner Museum was the highlight across the street, and we walked down St. George Street for old times sake. Everyone wore masks and kept an appropriate social distance. Not crowded since it was after the holidays.

Charlotte Street is a little less well-known than streets like Saint George and Aviles Streets…read more However, it was an important part of the historic area of downtown St Augustine and remains one of the main streets today. Recently in 2017, on a portion of Charlotte Street, human remains were found during a water line excavation. From what I understand, these people go back to the original settlers who came with Pedro Menéndez in 1565. This is only one of many excavation examples in St Augustine in general. However, when you walk the street today and enjoy the beauty of the buildings and the street itself...it makes you wonder about the history of it no matter what portion you are on. As the saying goes, "If these streets could talk..." Today, you will find that this street is a little less traveled than other historic streets in St Augustine. It is just as beautiful and scenic...and probably even more so since you don't have as much foot traffic. Also, keep in mind that it is sort of split by the Plaza de la Constitución. There are wonderful restaurants on this historic street, in addition to beautiful private residences with architecture that is free to view (from the outside of course). Moreover, there are other businesses like a museum, bars, Hyppo, an art gallery, bed & breakfasts, and various shops to name a few. There is street parking on Charlotte Street in addition to a few private parking lots as well. Plus, it is within walking distance of the fort and the parking garage. Of course, there is street parking all over St. Augustine as well nearby. For those of you who have not checked out Charlotte Street or never heard of it...check it out! You won't be disappointed.

It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

The entire tour pace was perfect, we didn't stay too long or too short at any of our spots. We visited a local wine shop, had some barbecue, had some great drinks and some excellent desserts and a few other surprises. We did all of this while learning some very interesting history about Saint Augustine. At the very end of the Torr Alex, the owner of the Torr company was going to a local art gallery and invited us to join him which we did. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend.
