    Greatest dessert of all time
    Don B.

Tuesday is bread pudding day! the best dessert I've ever eaten in my life. A good friend told me about it 8 years ago and I never could see it on the menu until I luckily stopped by on a Tuesday. It was everything I thought it would be and more. The food was awesome as well.

This is not somewhere I ever thought I would end up eating, but boy am I glad I did! The restaurant is located on the premises of a gas station called "Queen of the Road" in Mississippi, and brands itself as a "Truckers' stop". Naturally I was apprehensive. Walking in, the restaurant has a homely diner feel about it, you get a pleasant welcome and no nonsense service. The menu has a good selection of items, and Specializes in southern cuisine. I tried the half southern fried chicken with slaw and fried okra and corn bread, and I was very impressed. In fact I would say that it is the best and most succulent fried chicken that I have had in the United States. The prices are exceptionally reasonable for the size of the portions, and you will also find some southern charm and hospitality here. I'd go back to Mississippi just to eat here!

A local favorite, The Magnolia restaurant serves southern favorites such as fried chicken, liver and onions, catfish, turkey and dressing, Lima beans, turnip greens, yams, Mac and cheese, and peach cobbler just to name a few. Located off I-20 and Open 24 hours, in addition to truckers, you can often see a local member of the community dining at any hour of the day. This is a local favorite is nothing fancy, but is great for a quick weekday lunch, Sunday dinner or late night meal after a night at the juke joint. In addition to the daily specials and featured items, they also have delicious burgers, fried bologna sandwiches, chicken wings and of course sweet tea. You can also get breakfast all day. If you're there during the day, ask for Sabrina. She's my family's favorite server.

Fried pork chops , cabbage , beets , and fried green tomatoes. $9.30 what a deal.

Been stopping here for years , for lunch . The name Magnolia threw me off , all I've ever know it as was the Queen City Truck Stop. Lunch gets busy here , but they still have fast service. The food is better than most truck stops , and the price isn't bad $9.30 for the lunch , meat , choice of three side items , tea , and cracklin or jalapeño cornbread.

Not the best food ever, but also not mediocre. It was good, but just didn't have the "wow" factor. Service was okay. Our server wasn't friendly but wasn't rude. She just looked like she didn't want to be there. Would I come back? Only if Cracker Barrel is super busy....which is how we ended up here in the first place.

Great burger . Lunch special are off the chain. Really enjoyed the beef tips and rice with collards and cracklin cornbread.

As far as truck stops go, not bad. Every piece of food was yummy and fresh. Attentive waitress, and good southern menu.

The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

We ordered through the drive thru, and the staff was a little impatient through the intercom, but at the window they were nice I only went through the drive through, so, I can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant, but I will say that the menu (for shakes) is lengthy, and it would be nice if they showed this list prior to the spot were you ordered your food so you would have time to make a decision Some tips: While it was tasty, I might avoid the Banana Pudding shake. Maybe it was because it was later in the evening, but they were trying to peel a frozen banana at the window and then gave up. Only to later use a fully green banana, and because of that a strong not quite ripe banana flavor over powered the rest of the ingredients Cheers!

Cleanliness: Fine and nothing to note negatively. I would recommend having a real tea dispenser instead of a hand poured pitcher at the drink station. Bathroom was clean.
