My previous dentist did the same, but Dr. Tran didn't only ask a few questions - we talked during the whole cleaning! She is also very gentle! While flossing my teeth she wasn't aggressively shoving the floss between my teeth, like my previous dentist did. Overall, Dr. Tran makes you feel very comfortable in her chair. On my way out, another patient brought in a gift for Dr. Tran and thanked her for all that she does for her. That gesture validated how I feel about Dr. Tran and this dental practice. I was genuinely concerned that I had a serious tooth issue causing these symptoms. X-rays and an exam were done, but I was told there was nothing wrong with my teeth. Despite that, I was referred to an endodontist anyway, which I paid for completely out-of-pocket. The endodontist confirmed it was not a tooth problem. Because my symptoms were continuing and worsening, I made the decision myself to go to the emergency room out of concern that something more serious could be happening. I underwent an EKG, CAT scan, and was even transported to the hospital for an MRI. After all of that, I was released with no answers. Following advice from a nurse practitioner at the hospital, I returned to this dentist requesting a referral to an oral surgeon for a TMJ evaluation. The dentist refused, stating she didn't think I had TMJ, and provided no further guidance, suggestions, or concern for what was clearly an ongoing and serious issue. I eventually sought out an oral surgeon on my own and finally got answers. The cause of all of this was nighttime teeth clenching/grinding (bruxism). The strain on my jaw muscles had irritated the trigeminal nerve, which was causing referred pain, pressure behind my eyes, and even vision disturbances. This could have been identified much sooner if the dentist had actually listened to my concerns and considered clenching/grinding as a possibility (which there was apparent evidence of). Instead, I went through unnecessary specialist visits, emergency testing, hospital bills, missing days of work, and weeks of stress -- when the solution was ultimately something as simple as a mouth guard. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. Patients deserve to be heard, taken seriously, and guided appropriately when dealing with potentially serious symptoms.

I ended up having gum line issues/bleeding/ and color mismatch from my prior crowns and 3 years after the procedure I ended up back in Dr. Michaelson's office. Once I decided to move forward with my crown revision, he was very honest and straightforward with how I could best achieve the look I wanted, what my future with the crowns looked like, and timeline. They were also up front and transparent with pricing. Even though they are on the higher end price wise, the lab they used did an amazing job to match the color and it has now been over a year and my teeth have held up nicely. I was also very nervous for how long the temporaries needed to be on because of how bad temps have been in the past but these temporaries were not bad at all. For general dental visits: all of my cleanings were awesome/pain free and you could tell that they knew how to be careful with maintaining integrity of any dental work. Only experience that I feel like could be improved upon was X-Ray process. I have never been that uncomfortable from just getting dental images but they also got the most in depth photos I've ever had done so that could be why. Lastly, they always tried to accommodate my schedule and fit me in when they could. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Michaelson and his team. If I did not move I would still be going for my annual exams and any additional work.

During that process, I received two permanent crowns. The first permanent crown fell off, which ended up damaging a molar on the opposite side and now requires treatment from a specialist. I was originally referred to this office by my girlfriend, who had recommended it. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. During one appointment, children were running around in the treatment area while technicians were working on patients. The overall environment felt disorganized and unprofessional. Over the past seven months, my crowns have come loose or fallen off three to four times. The crown only seemed to stay in place after I specifically confirmed that adhesive had been applied during a visit. Communication within the office appears to be poor, and there seems to be a lack of coordination among staff. Across all of my visits, I cannot honestly say that I had a positive experience. After wearing them for a few hours, they became so painful !! When I took them out and looked at them, they were very rough and you could actually see the grinder marks in the denture! I looked up the qualifications for Florida, and to be able to adjust dentures, you have to have a three year course to be certified, so when I went back, I asked to see her certification. She immediately became very defensive, and said that if I wasn't happy I could get my money back. The dentist was happy to show me her lisence, but refused to let me see the certifications for the ladies working there. I showed her the lower dentures, and she claimed she could see nothing wrong!
