All our dishes were excellent, and we washed them down with a half-carafe of the house red wine (shockingly delicious, and only €4)! We were stuffed from our feast but couldn't pass up the dolce course, a pastry stuffed with an orange, walnut, and honey filling and then sliced--apparently a specialty of Pitigliano. We also really appreciated that the restaurant's inside rooms are housed in a tufa cave, which was very atmospheric and welcome on a chilly December day. We would love to return for another excellent meal when the gorgeous patio overlooking the gorge below is open!

Down a set of stairs we came upon a beautiful outdoor garden/dining area. We dined inside, as it was quite cold out. Lovely setting, inside the tufo rock. Nice typical Tuscan menu. We ordered crostini with tartufo but received two orders and we were charged for it. It should have been complimentary since we didn't order it. I had caco e pepe and then a scallopini dish with mushrooms; and my friends and I shared a side order of spinach. All very good. We shared a half carafe of white wine. Our waiter later showed us the tunnel area below the restaurant, which was pretty neat to see. Our meal came to 26 euros each, pretty typical. I wish I had discovered this place earlier on in my trip, as it would have been lovely to have lunch outside in the garden area.

The waiter and owner were personable, friendly, and enthusiastic about their house made pastas and desserts. We ordered the mortadella and baked mozzarella for starters; we determined the wild boar ragu paired with oranges and freshly made pasta was the most flavorful item on the table, a recommendation offered by our waiter. Would definitely return to dine here and try other seasonal items while relaxing in their romantic ambience.

Having lunch at Alma Civita happened thanks to our tour guide during our visit to Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. I must say, I'm happy for the detour and the torturous walk across the bridge and up the hill. Our meal was simple, yet made with the freshest of ingredients many from the owner's farm and picked that morning. We started out with a round of bruschetta, followed by a simple pasta with fresh veggies. The delicate flavors melded together to create the perfect light pasta dish. A true masterpiece. This was followed by a plate of smoked pork and potatoes. All perfectly seasoned and presented. The house wine was from their own vineyards and was a nice play on all the food presented. Overall, this was an exceptional lunch, in an exceptional restaurant in a exceptional locale. Go to visit the town and stay for the fantastic food and experience. OH SO GOOD!

My sister and I were taken to this place by a local guide during a private olive oil tour and he truly couldn't have picked a better place off the tourist beaten path. Every single bite that went into our mouth was absolutely delicious...this was honestly one of the meals I've had in Italy. We started with a selection of fresh mozzarella cheese before moving on to an expansive meats and cheese board that included a selection of items I'm still dreaming of. It was one of the best charcuterie boards I've ever enjoyed and our guide informed us that the meats and most of the cheeses were all made in-house. There was an amazing blood sausage that was out of this world. (the family also owns a sheep farm near the property) Next up were two melt in your mouth pasta dishes that get two thumbs up from me. We somehow managed to have just enough room left for dessert which consisted of tiramisu and a pana cotta topped with this amazing pistachio cream that was to die for. Luckily for me, the restaurant also offers a small aisle of local food items (pasta, olive oil, etc.) that you can purchase and you best believe I bought a jar of the pistachio cream to take home. We left this lunch so full we didn't even bother with dinner that night. If you find yourself in this neck of the woods be sure to stop in because you won't leave disappointed (or hungry).

We stopped here for a quick lunch with our friends who have vacation residence in Amelia. For a Sunday, it was quiet but there was a larger family group with young children as well as a table with 2 older couples. We were seated in the old 'cuccina' which has a large open fireplace so the room was nicely warmed (considering the much colder weather outside. There is still the old stone ovens and prep area including the original water well (grate over the top but I could not see to the very bottom - very deep! We ordered relatively quickly as we were in a timeframe to leave for Firenze. 3 of us had pasta and 1 the steak, which was served with roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes as well as a local spinach.. All meals were quite well presented, very tasty and enjoyed by all of us. We had the last bottle of local wine which was very nice. An espresso before we left and then it was time to hit the road. This place would be absolutely beautiful in the summer, as the views from the al fresco area outside look directly over the valley below.
