When I finally called him the day before the wedding I found that his number was disconnected! I scoured the internet for another number to call but every number for him was the same. I sent him a facebook message since he had been unresponsive to my emails. No word. We had a contract and I had put down a deposit but I had no idea how to pursue him any further. We called Lethal Rhythms Friday afternoon and in two hours Joel connected me with Larry Cook. Larry called me immediately and after our conversation I knew I could breathe easier. The first DJ finally called me the day of our wedding... 15 minutes before our ceremony started. I angrily asked him why I hadn't heard from him and he simply said that "they had been so busy lately". Larry was amazing! Everyone raved about him all night long and he was passing out his business cards by the end of the night. We knew that our friends and family are a fun crowd, but Larry kept them on the dance floor the. entire. night. There was never a lull and everyone had a great time! The only even slightly negative thing that I can say is that Larry is not yet an "emcee". I was fortunate enough that my wedding coordinator was able to step in for this role but I felt like that was naturally part of a DJ's duty for a wedding. Other than that, we were more than pleased! Joel was also punctual to the wedding so he'd have time to set up, meet the wedding coordinator, etc. The lighting was excellent and made it more fun to dance. Not-so-Positives: Without putting all the blame on Joel, for whatever reasons and technical difficulties (software updates), he wasn't able to pull all the right songs, i.e. garter toss. However, it didn't matter much because he improvised and there was a super fun go-stop-groom-crawling game that had the crowd roaring. Then he was able to get the right song and all was good. The one thing that did irk me a little, was this: My sister (who is very, very pregnant and was my maid of honor) approached Joel several times throughout the night for either questions or clarification about a few things, and his responses were not very friendly nor personable. I completely understand that Joel may have been flustered due to the music/software technical difficulties, but I know that he could have been a bit more cordial to her. I'm sure he was just frustrated and to be perfectly honest, everybody was probably a bit stressed all night, but I know it wasn't easy for my sister to have to ask him questions when she had them. We'd met for lunch months before the wedding to discuss our music taste, event, etc. Joel promised a pre-party mix if we sent him a list of stuff we liked, so we did. This never materialized. He then promised to make up for that and this never happened either. I'm a very reasonable and patient person, but after failing to hold up his end of the bargain MORE than 3 times, I had to write an honest review. I don't like being jerked around and if a vendor is making promises, then they should deliver. Period. Talented? Without a doubt. Would do business with again? Not a chance.

He is so kind and personable that it is impossible not to immediately love him! From our first phone call, I knew I was able to trust him to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be. He helped guide me when I had no idea about the flow of the night and talked through countless options of how to make our day unique. I'm pretty sure no one left the dance floor once they got onto it and it was because Topher was able to read the room so well and go off the vibe of what the guests wanted! Guests mostly remembers the music from the reception, but it's important to mention the ceremony music as well. As a bride, I was nervous about the clarity of the music with our wedding being outside, but it was so clear, proving the quality of Topher's equipment. To choose your songs for the ceremony and reception - he uses an app that makes it so easy to choose and rearrange things to the way that you want them! We decided to mash up two songs for our first dance, that he did PERFECTLY! He gave us options of how to mash the songs up and then more options once we decided the route we wanted to go. I truly cannot say enough good things about Topher. He never rushed me on our phone calls before the wedding, even when I was on idea #75. He always gave me his honest opinion based on his years of experience, but also figured out how to make things work for the vision that I had. He took the time to talk to all of our bridal party before their entrance and helped to ease my nerves before my new husband and I entered the venue for the first time! I started my search well in advance of the event (6 months) to be sure everything was in place. An online search for AV rentals in my area brought me to Liquid AV. Really a first class outfit. Cost of AV equipment at the venue was prohibitive for me. I found Liquid AV's prices to be very competitive. Well below using the equipment vendors at the venue. I made a point to call Zach directly to be sure he would be able to handle my needs and to get a handle on his operation. I was impressed with his knowledge to accurately assess my needs based on the size of the room and the number of people attending. Conversations and follow up e-mails were promptly addressed. A deposit held the date and exactly 1 month out, as promised, I received an e-mail confirming the contract, cleaning up the final details of venue address, start time, show time for set up, etc. I elected to go with the large screen (10') and audio package. Again, I was very impressed. All the equipment was top notch, in brand new condition, and worked flawlessly. The projector set up in a behind the screen configuration gave plenty of room for the tables out in front. Cables, speaker stands, all was arranged for a clean clutter free look. Zach and his technician, Cody, stayed on site to monitor operation. In addition, Zach brought some additional up lighting effects that were used along the outside edges of the room. I'd have to give Liquid AV 5 stars if I were rating them. I will be recommending them to anyone I know that has need of this type of service. We called and were able to get two replacements quickly and for a fair price. The best part was that we were able to finish rigging everything up while our projectors were delivered to us. CollaboCrate offered support with a 24/7 phone number; while we didn't really need that, it's nice to know that a smaller crew would have some sort of help if they needed it. We worked with a few rental companies when we were getting started and those experiences had pushed us to purchase and maintain our own gear. If we had this kind of attention and ease of rental all the time we would have opted to rent most of our equipment and left the maintenance to someone else. This is how it should be done.
