His music selection is on point. We provided him with a list, weeks beforehand and he was able to put together his own stuff as well that suited our taste and style. His ear for music is without question, impeccable and accurate. Joel was also punctual to the wedding so he'd have time to set up, meet the wedding coordinator, etc. The lighting was excellent and made it more fun to dance. Not-so-Positives: Without putting all the blame on Joel, for whatever reasons and technical difficulties (software updates), he wasn't able to pull all the right songs, i.e. garter toss. However, it didn't matter much because he improvised and there was a super fun go-stop-groom-crawling game that had the crowd roaring. Then he was able to get the right song and all was good. The one thing that did irk me a little, was this: My sister (who is very, very pregnant and was my maid of honor) approached Joel several times throughout the night for either questions or clarification about a few things, and his responses were not very friendly nor personable. I completely understand that Joel may have been flustered due to the music/software technical difficulties, but I know that he could have been a bit more cordial to her. I'm sure he was just frustrated and to be perfectly honest, everybody was probably a bit stressed all night, but I know it wasn't easy for my sister to have to ask him questions when she had them. We'd met for lunch months before the wedding to discuss our music taste, event, etc. Joel promised a pre-party mix if we sent him a list of stuff we liked, so we did. This never materialized. He then promised to make up for that and this never happened either. I'm a very reasonable and patient person, but after failing to hold up his end of the bargain MORE than 3 times, I had to write an honest review. I don't like being jerked around and if a vendor is making promises, then they should deliver. Period. Talented? Without a doubt. Would do business with again? Not a chance. read more

Joel with Lethal Rhythms truly saved the day for our wedding! I had already booked another DJ for our wedding but he had been oddly silent to my emails during the week or two before the big day. When I finally called him the day before the wedding I found that his number was disconnected! I scoured the internet for another number to call but every number for him was the same. I sent him a facebook message since he had been unresponsive to my emails. No word. We had a contract and I had put down a deposit but I had no idea how to pursue him any further. We called Lethal Rhythms Friday afternoon and in two hours Joel connected me with Larry Cook. Larry called me immediately and after our conversation I knew I could breathe easier. The first DJ finally called me the day of our wedding... 15 minutes before our ceremony started. I angrily asked him why I hadn't heard from him and he simply said that "they had been so busy lately". Larry was amazing! Everyone raved about him all night long and he was passing out his business cards by the end of the night. We knew that our friends and family are a fun crowd, but Larry kept them on the dance floor the. entire. night. There was never a lull and everyone had a great time! The only even slightly negative thing that I can say is that Larry is not yet an "emcee". I was fortunate enough that my wedding coordinator was able to step in for this role but I felt like that was naturally part of a DJ's duty for a wedding. Other than that, we were more than pleased! Lethal Rhythms and Elle Planning do not disappoint! Our decision to work with this team for our wedding was a good one. We had our initial meeting with Joel Rabe who was extremely helpful. After Joel reviewed the all of the available DJs with us, we decided to book DJ Robb - He was awesome. We got exactly what we wanted, everything was perfect. We wanted the dance floor packed all night and Robb really kept the party going. We also worked with Joel to have Ellen Thomas and Laura Burchfield do our day of coordination. These ladies are top notch. Our wedding went so smooth and it is all thanks to their organization. I was married almost a full year ago (at Park Tavern on 07/30/2016), and am finally getting around to writing reviews. Working with Lethal Rhythms and Elle Planning was wonderful. Joel was very responsive and easy to work with. We ended up using DJ Robb for the reception, and he was awesome. Ellen was our Day of Coordinator, and she too was incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. I had to knock off one star because of the photo booth rental we arranged for through Lethal Rhythms. Everything went perfectly with the photo booth the night of the reception, and it was a HUGE hit with our guests. Lots of props to choose from, a nice background, and great quality photos. My issue is that the way they send your photos to you after the wedding is via a link to the photos on their Facebook page. It was a pain trying to save those photos from their page onto our computer. Also, in order for your guests to view them, you either have to go through and tag each guest individually, or email blast a link to them (and of course anyone who doesn't have a Facebook account can't view them). Also, as someone who doesn't love to put her life on Facebook and is not an avid user, it bothers me that this is the only direct link to my photos. We were told by the photo booth technician that we'd receive a link to the photos, and also a book with all of the photos in it. Unfortunately, we never received any book of the photos, which would have gone a long way to make up for my issue with the Facebook link. I would recommend using Lethal Rhythms for anything other than photo booth services for your wedding. read more

Joel was honestly one of the highlights of my entire wedding. We told him we wanted high energy and a good party and he absolutely delivered! He did the music for both my ceremony and reception, and our energy level was up even before the cocktail hour began. I can't say enough great things about Joel at Lethal Rhythms - we just celebrated our wedding on Saturday, and Joel was the *perfect* DJ. He went above and beyond to make our wedding memorable, and created a very fun vibe at the reception -- we wanted a lot of modern music, so I was initially nervous that the older crowd wouldn't be dancing... but somehow he was able to get EVERYONE on the dance floor (and play songs that our generation loves at the same time). They made the planning process and music decisions very easy by providing suggestions. They had options and recommendations that included everything from traditional to unique. I am so excited to have booked Joel for my daughters wedding! I have seen Joel in action and he really does engage the audience. When I first saw Joel in action I told myself that when the day came and my daughter was engaged I was hiring Joel. He and the venue were the first calls we made. He met with us before the wedding to go over all the details and was really flexible helping us figure out how to best execute our entrance. We found Lethal Rhythms via research from online reviews and wedding websites, as we were new to the Atlanta area and did not know anyone in the city who could recommend a DJ company. Their positive reviews led me to fill out an inquiry form and I immediately received a phone call from Laura, who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. She was very helpful in providing initial information and did not pressure us at all to book with the company for our wedding and instead encouraged us to first meet the DJ and the owner (Joel) at a local event at the Botanical Gardens--which was also complimentary-total bonus! We knew right away when we met DJ Binnie, Laura, and Joel that we wanted to book with this company; however the price was outside of our DJ budget for our wedding. Within a couple of weeks, they contacted us and told us that DJ Binnie had a promotion and wanted to extend this to us because the pricing was now within our budget. Of course we were interested--this was amazing customer service and we knew that the company would do an excellent job. The value and quality of this company is excellent. There was an online portal to search, listen, and request songs. DJ Binnie was flexible with our schedules and was accessible via email, online, or phone. We met via Google Hangouts, which was so helpful leading up to the weeks before our wedding (as meeting times are tight with our busy schedule). All the details were checked off and I knew that we would be in good hands on our wedding day. He was fun, lively, and calm at our wedding. We loved our music at our ceremony and reception and the microphones and equipment were perfect for our event. People were on the dance floor for the whole evening and he was able to keep people engaged. I will say that I did hours of research looking at different DJ companies and this was the complete package with the fair value. This company may have been at its prime 4 months ago but since then they have lost some key employees and their customer service has significant;y decreased. I hired this company to do my wedding in September and had to postpone the event until February due to medical reasons. I gave the owner, Joel Rabe, notice 2 months prior to the date and was assured that I would be provided the services when my new date came up. I set a new date about 5 months ago and paid his company in full. It is now 1 month before the wedding and I have been unable to get Joel to sit down and give me a new agreement for my wedding date. I have tried making meetings to discuss it with him on over ten different occasions and he has refused to talk with me. He has ignored every phone call and email that I have made. He will only talk to me via text message. He constantly claims he is too busy to deal with me and my event. When I informed him that his behavior was unacceptable he called me up and screamed at me. Before my fiance and I started having major issues with the owner of this company we recommended him to a family member for a Bat-mitzvah which was last weekend. When my fiance saw him at the party he asked him during his break if he could please write up the contract he promised to provide several months ago. The owner physically accosted him and said that he would contact us on Monday. He has yet to send us any paperwork. I am currently looking for a new DJ because I have no faith in this man's ability to keep true to his words. Overall, I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with the customer care and business practices this company has showcased and caution anyone when considering doing business with this man. Joel is a thief, a liar, and a conceded jerk. If anyone does decide to hire him and for some reason and the event needs to be postponed consider your money lost. Regardless of what he tells you, you're not covered. Do yourself a favor and save yourself future aggravation and heartache. Overlook this company. There are hundreds of other companies out there that do what this man does but with more style, class, and care for the people they do it for. read more
