We even had a month-of wedding planner and we felt as though Tim did a better job of making sure my husband and I were taken care of throughout the entire night. Not only did he handle business and read the crowd like a champ, he was flexible, pleasant, and friendly with everyone. The music was perfection! It was like a 4 hour sing and dance-a-long all night. Unlike other DJ who are way too greedy with inflation and provides services you don't need, TD is offering the most reasonable prices and add-ons to fit your needs and budget. We added the uplighting services and opt'ed out for additional musicians (more on that below). 2. TD is incredibly professional and experienced. We're picky music producers and needed someone who the same level of touch and technicality. With TD, you don't have to worry! He has the years, experience, and groove for it all! 3. Reliable, communicative, and supportive. He can easily mesh well with your videographers, coordinators, and team to make sure your entire event goes well. We're very satisfied with the outcomes. He even took awesome photos of us and created a highlight on IG for us to watch after our wedding. We loved seeing our special day from a different perspective. CON: 1. We didn't get the additional musicians TD recommended and regret it. I think others should consider it! Having more than 1 entertainer on the dance floor really heightens the energy. Whether it's an Emcee, Drummer, Saxophonist, etc... you need that extra person as a hype man to keep the night going! +1 if they can dance and help others follow along #flashmob #tiktokdance. 2. Have a back-up plan for emergencies. If someone falls and hurts their heads in the middle of an energetic time, you'd want to know what to do to be respectful of that person while ensuring the rest of the party is still going. Our wedding reception was a huge success because of one person: TOPHER! During the reception we had a noise complaint that Topher handled so beautifully! At the threat of our reception falling dead only an hour in, Topher managed to get the land owner on the dance floor breaking it down to some dirty bass!!! There are not enough words to describe how happy we are that Tim & Topher took the leap to take us on! Topher was our man the night of the wedding, and he absolutely MADE the night! I cannot tell you how important music is to an event. We had an engagement party where we went with a friend of a friend and the experience was less than favorable. My now husband and I hired Hip & Hitched to DJ our wedding in Decatur this summer, and we had an absolute blast with DR Topher! I communicated with my DJ ahead of time, who was super sweet and listened to what we wanted. When I first talked to him to get a sense of his style, we talked for a long time, and I could hear the passion for music in his voice. He talked about DJ philosophy! I admitted that we mostly wanted standard wedding music, but he was cool with that, too :-) He invited us to come hear him and another Hip & Hitched DJ at Republic Social House so we could get a sense for who they are as people and the kind of music they play. They were both very friendly, and I loved the mixes they played! We were sold! Once we booked with them, they sent two google documents for us to add songs for various moments (e.g., for recessional, processional, first dance), songs we absolutely wanted to play, songs we absolutely DID NOT want to play, and everything in between. It was very helpful! We filled out a few things that we liked and asked them to extrapolate from there, and of course Topher hit the nail on the head! He was even accommodating when our crazy friends requested "A Whole New World" karaoke version (old friend tradition... no idea how he got that song!!). Our DJ kept the party going all night and really read the room. There were times where the floor was becoming sparse, and he played an amazing song that sent me sprinting from the back of the hall to the dance floor!! TIM Was the man ! We supplied him with a lot of music and he played it all perfectly in time. No instructions needed :) He dj'ed the ceremony as well and it was well timed and at a perfect volume. He played a perfect range of music for everyone (including our 80+ seniors and 10 and under kids). He was on the mic just the right amount and interacted a lot with the crowd. We upgraded to the turbo sound and lighting rig and it was well worth it. The last two hours we lowered the lights and everyone got down. Tim is top-notch and outstanding in his field! We got married Memorial Day weekend and there were a lot of things that didn't go off as planned. Tim was on it from the beginning and music was never one of our worries. He was flexible with the timeline and even worked in a last minute tribute with my dad who was my best man. Tim was also great at reading the crowd and knew how to get them going. The reception was so much fun we even decided to keep it going passed the time we had planned. One of our guests even sang his own praises for Tim completely unsolicited saying, "You're the best DJ in America!!" I set out to have a blast at my own wedding. I was laughed at my some and scolded by others for this thought process. I couldn't see spending the time and money we did to not have a great time.
