It seems as though everyday, the team is just trying to "make it through the day". Every morning at drop-off, the toddler and infant classrooms are clearly over ratio and chaotic. There are constant teacher callouts. My daughter's teacher is out numerous times a week for one reason or another. This forces my child to be placed in a different room, proving that there is no consistency. The teachers that do show up everyday, are CLEARLY burnt out. I feel bad for them. Additionally, a majority of the staff lack any educational expertise and seem to view this job as glorified babysitting. Management seems to hire anyone who walks through the door just so they can enroll more families and make more money. This puts a heavy burden on the good staff. No quality curriculum is taking place. My kids never come home with any artwork or projects. The kids are just not learning anything. The center is filthy. I don't think anyone knows how to sweep or mop. I have had to step through my child's classroom to get their backpack and I am disgusted with the state of the classrooms. I truly believe the teachers are so burnt out, they are just too tired to clean. And it shows. There are a handful of wonderful teachers who seem to care about the kids; but unfortunately, that is way overshadowed by the negative vibes in this place. There is a child in my son's preschool classroom (Kairo is the child's name) that has extremely aggressive and violent behavior. My child fears going to class because of him. I have spoken with the Director Heather numerous times about this and it seems nothing is being done and my concerns are being pushed aside. This child needs special help that he cannot get in a large group setting. I know multiple parents have the same concerns about this child. I am in search of another daycare and soon as I get a spot, I will be dis-enrolling immediately.

I was worried about sending a five month old to daycare so early but the kindness and attentiveness of the teachers here made it much easier on me. This particular location has a full kitchen and they provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks which is a huge help for busy parents. They also have playgrounds based on the child's age and the teachers love getting the kids outside in the fresh air. Every day they play games, sing songs and create art work that are all tied to learning. It is more of a school than a day care and they have a great curriculum that they share with parents so we can include the same topics at home. The staff is wonderful. They are all very kind and they truly care about the kids and parents. It is also extremely clean. They also released a mobile app that I get updates and pictures of him throughout the day. If you are looking for day care, or school for your child, you cannot go wrong here.

I then waited for almost 15 minutes while there was the constant sound of crying children, but no one came to the front area and no one was visible in either the office or kindergarten area (again, this was after I had rang the doorbell requesting entry). Finally, I gave up and just left, never having the ability to speak with anyone. Perhaps this was unusual, but it doesn't inspire confidence in me and does not make me feel comfortable with the idea of leaving my daughter at this center.

My little one has loved all her teachers and has had pretty much the same kids in her school throughout so they must be doing something right. One of her teachers, Ms Diane would lay with her to help her get to sleep because she was having trouble for a while. That is literally the only break she (Ms Diane) had all day and she sacrificed her alone time to give my daughter piece of mind. 2. My girl had an issue with another boy in the class that kept biting her and eventually hit her (in the span of a few days). The day care and Sarah immediately dealt with it and separated them as well as putting measures in place with the little boy to make sure their parents dealt with the issues (I wasn't privy to the exact measures as there are privacy issues but I do know they did more than just separate their classes). 3. To the response about working parents (I am a director at a 50Mil Dollar company). Yes, it is hard that you need to keep your little one home for 24 hours after a fever but they do that to protect the other kids and if they didn't do this, you would end up with a daycare that has kids getting sick more often and can't come in anyway. The minute you get one child with of hand, foot and mouth or anything contagious they use a system to help clean the classrooms. 4. I literally toured over 8 daycares before sending my girl here and NONE of them had what Goddard did. There are very few part-time kids here but those that are feel just as welcome...how do I know? My daughter and I have play dates with a part time little boy and his mom and I have asked her. 5. Kids fall, they are learning to walk and learning how to play nice. Kids get bruises and bumps. This will happen at all daycares, it's how the daycare deals with it that matters...and Goddard does it well. And you child will have diaper rash, they cannot possibly change a diaper every time a child pees, there are just too many kids but Goddard has a rule about how often the diapers should be changed. 6. Ok, they do a few things that annoy me like putting her sippy cup upside down in her bag, encouraging me to stop her thumb sucking when i don't think she ready and some other small things but overall this is a great school with staff that really care.

We were with them through first steps, first solids, first words, navigating a pandemic, potty training, having a sibling, losing teeth, learning to ride a bike and write their name, making friends and becoming self-assured and self-sufficient 5 year olds that were ready to make a seamless transition to Kindergarten. Not only is the facility and outdoor play spaces beautiful, but the school follows a curriculum that is shared each week and brings in outside companies, librarians and more to do specialized activities onsite as well. From bike days to pizza/pj fundraisers, apple pie making for Thanksgiving, to art shows, there was always something to look forward to. When we looked at many daycares when my first child was born, this school stood out leaps and bounds above the rest for having an educational plan in place, not just child care. I can't thank the Goddard School enough for the role they have played in such formative years for my children. The teachers care about the kids like family.

She was super quick to respond to our emails and questions, very friendly, and very competent. We also liked the majority of teachers that we met who interacted with our child. The only complaint we made during our time there was that during drop-off and pick-up things always seemed a bit more hectic than they needed to be -- it seemed like having another teacher in there during that time would have helped. The other challenge was teacher turnover, though I imagine this is fairly common at any daycare center. Of the 12 or so teachers we met, five moved on in the year that we were there. Luckily they ended up being replaced by other great teachers. Our only reason for leaving is that a 10% discount on two children was still much higher than us just hiring a nanny.

Finally, I requested that Valerie (the lady in Salem that was not giving me any information besides that they had a wait list, and only accept full days/weeks students) to give me the name, address, and phone number of someone in Danvers. I was given a name (Gretchen), and a phone number that was disconnected. She also stated that she forwarded my emails to her. When Gretchen emailed me, it was basically the same information - Please let me know what questions you have....yet nothing had been answered. In her defense, I didn't bother to respond. I'd already made up my mind, thanks to Valerie and her lack of information. Needles to say, this has left a very poor impression on me. I don't want to seems my child to a place that can't even figure out how to give information out to inquiring parents. If you are looking for someplace that refuses to answer questions, this is your place. I'd you want to know the ins and outs, and *gasp* talk to a real person...keep looking.

He has never been bit, hit, pushed, shoved or hurt in any other way except for accidents on the play ground, such as a skinned knee. Even when this happened, the school called me right away to let me know and I was given an incident report when I picked him up. But kids will be kids, so I expect him to get hurt, I did when I was a kid! The staff are very attentive, friendly, helpful and great teachers. My son can now count to ten in three languages (four if you include English) and he tells us amazing facts that he learns at school. I highly recommend Run A Muck!

The RMS teachers foster a classroom of respect, order, trust, and peace. Allowing the children to focus and learn on their daily tasks, versus being distracted by chaos and clutter. They are nurturing, kind, loving and cuddly with the kids (which is so important to me since he's only two), and have remarkable classroom control. They teach both English and Spanish and we've just hit the point where my son knows more Spanish than me. The whole classroom will sing along songs in both languages. The room is also spotless at the end of every day which is very important to me going into flu season. They have an awesome app where I get 2-5 pictures or more a day of him painting, or videos of them dancing etc. and my son always tells me how much he likes school when I pick him up. As part of bedtime, sometimes we discuss who loves him and he lists off his family, friends, and almost always a few KB teachers. I know this place has had a bad reputation within the parent community around town (I've had multiple people tell me about their bad experiences) so I just wanted to address that too. All of those impressions are from when the old director, Teri, worked there. We came on and had about 6 months of her and were on multiple waitlists when she was fired. They've since brought in Brandi as the new director early this summer. Brandi is lovely, welcoming, has a personal relationship and conversation with every kid. She's worked hard all year to edit the staff and build a group of teachers who are passionate and amazing. No matter where my son is at the end of the day (kindercare as a whole has a merging policy as kids get picked up so sometimes the kids move classrooms), the teacher knows his name and is friendly and caring. They will just resort to the method that requires the least effort for them: blaming the parents and child. The teachers are underpaid. The management are rude and often outright disrespectful. When you are unfortunate enough to have to interact with them, they are unapproachable, unavailable, and unnecessarily escalate issues. Stay far away from this place. You can get much better and cheaper care from a personal nanny. They are probably the most likely to have openings, but sometimes there's a reason for that...
