It was good. Not much magic but good. We had the menu, not the All you can eat and had a couple of rolls. I'll come back anytime soon. read more

Magic Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

The food was very fresh the service was very good but not the type of place you dress up and go out to. I would go back there to eat

This was my first all you can eat sushi place in the area. It's not bad, but it's not amazing either. The miso soup is shiro miso which was made very weak and bland. The other appetizers are also lackluster and not as flavorful as they should be. The sushi is where they shine. The pieces are big and good, but their sushi rice is rather bland as well. The drinks are impressive but overpriced, and their menu is not ADA compliant in design which makes it easy to miss the upcharge on sashimi which is not included in the all you can eat sushi, despite being on the same menu. This caused drama on my last birthday with my guests when the bill was much higher than anticipated and in the end felt like it wasn't worth it because the food really isn't that good. read more

Great sushi! Comparable to all the other sushi spots in the area, it has a good bang for its buck. Their available sides could be broadened, and there is a bit more rice than I'd like, but it's still fresh and delicious. read more

Loved this place! Everything was so fresh and lots of options. My new favorite spot and got AYCE the price is read more

I'm so glad we experienced this for ourselves. Sushi was excellent, highly recommend the magic roll, and service was on point. They were fast and attentive. We were all about the all you can eat sushi, especially when they were so quick about bringing it all out. Looking forward to going back! read more

This restaurant was originally Blacow. Now it's an AYCE sushi similar to Mr Tokyo. Menus are very similar and the sushi are very similar in taste. Only thing different was that mr Tokyo's portions are way bigger for some items like the hibachi. read more

Average sushi, below average service ... Nice aesthetic inside .... It will do - but definitely not a place I would go out of my way to get sushi. The specialty rolls were underwhelming... The All You Can Eat is the better option here. read more

I've had the pleasure to order takeout and dine inside, and in my honest opinion it is a great value for its price point. When I came in I was welcomed warmly and on both occasions they were super friendly. They were able to get my food out quickly when I ordered takeout. And when I dined in for the all you can eat sushi the waiter was very attentive. Dining in. It's super clean and really pretty to look at. They took their time making sure everything looked great. The sushi was nicely presented and tasted very good, the miso soup wasn't too salty and had a good proportion, and I ordered green tea. Unfortunately that comes in a tea bag, but I don't mind that too much. Personally. I didn't have time to take any pictures of the location, considering I was in and out the first time and then starving the second lol. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great all you can eat sushi spot! read more

What a great price for all you can eat sushi & hibachi food. Service was good & ambiance was great.

Came here for the first time to have my own experience of all you can eat sushi just to seat for over an hour and not be served anything. I came to the restaurant with family so we all order differently so I was the only to order sushi. 30 mins go by and no food is served. Another 30 mins go by and the only food served was the entrees. Another 10-15 mins go by still no news on sushi. Asked the waitress and they seemed confused on what I said. Comes to find out the order I placed was never placed even though I marked the sushi's I want on the paper. By that time my appetite for sushi had went away. The service here is horrible , I was excited on trying their sushi but never had the opportunity. By the way it looks like they have more workers than customers which makes me guess what took so long? If you ever come just be prepared to wait to be served and hopefully they get your order placed. read more

Horrible service, our waiter was not attentive and left our glasses empty for about 20 mins. Food was good but it did take really long to get (about an hour for 3 rolls of sushi) I went during lunch time and it wasn't that busy so I do not know why it took that long. I probably won't be coming back. read more

My husband and I were greeted happily and seated promptly, drink orders were taken quickly and brought quickly. Our waiter came back quickly for our order sheet. (Chose AYCE) all the food came out fresh with absolutely reasonable wait time. We ordered several rolls, chicken hibachi and a couple apps. Everything was great! Rolls were packed and tasted really good. Chicken was tender and juicy, apps were fried nicely. Restaurant was clean and right AAAND the little sushi guy is so cute!! Best AYCE sushi we've had. Would absolutely come back! read more

This place just got bought out by someone switching it from Blacow to Magic Sushi. The severs are mostly the same from Blacow, and I am sure they're short staffed because our server had almost every table in there. We were a bigger party so we had to choose from either the dinner menu or all you can eat. That's red flag number one because two people in the party just wanted fried rice and had to be $25 for unlimited - with little portions. The sushi also did not look or smell fresh, the chicken was chewy, steak was tough. read more

Bad food. Bad service. Rolls are very salty due to the sauce they put on everything. Took over 20 mins to get the check. Won't be back. Try Yume instead. read more

Great sushi, recommend the all you can eat option. We were with a big birthday group so service was a bit chaotic but they did their best getting food out ASAP. Look forward to going back. read more

Pretty much the same model as the nearby AYCE sushi. They very short staffed as of now after grand opening. You'll have give them more patience as when I was there for lunch, it was one waitstaff running the entire restaurant with a little of help from the seemingly restaurant manager. Don't expect for Michelin quality food but it's still very good for the value. read more

The food was delicious! A little weird on the timing of dishes but we knew that going in. Definitely recommend the nigiri!

If you have a 30 minute lunch I would not go. Otherwise sushi was good! Service was pitiful, almost sad in fact. I know it's new but service I would not return on, food I would return for. Atmosphere is good, nice bar area. read more

Went in for the all you can eat deal. Restaurant interior is pleasant and bright. Plenty of tables or booths. When I was in please had maybe 5-10 parties dining. All you can eat menu was pretty straightforward. The regular menu has a number of rolls that are not on the all you can eat menu. Rolls on the all you can eat menu were mostly crab/shrimp based with a few eel/salmon/tuna options. I ended up ordering a mix of rolls/sushi and appetizers. First off I got my rolls and sushi before my soup or salad. Which was a little out of order. The rolls were pretty standard as far as what I got. One of reasons I didn't give higher rating was I felt fish was not super fresh. I've been eating sushi for over 20 years and I can tell when the fish may not be quite right. It had sort of a fishy taste/smell. Good sushi doesn't not. It was kind of a turn off. Appetizers were ok as well had soup and seaweed salad. Service was a little slow for how empty the place was. It looked like the place was still "new" so I don't know if they were still working the kinks out or what. I'm probably going to pass on going back for a while. I haven't really found a great sushi place in Charlotte compared to where I used to live. read more

Service was great, cute restaurant. The food wasn't the greatest and made me sick. I won't visit again.

Servers are nice but food was slow coming out and not that good at all. Hibachi was not good at all...even the sushi was just mid. I miss Blacow. I won't go back for Sushi. read more

Celebrated my birthday and the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. The whole experience was great and we had a blast

When I go, I do the all you can eat option usually during lunchtime when they're pretty busy. My server is always friendly. I feel like they could be a little more efficient, but they do a good job. The food is really good. The rolls are a decent size as well And they have a lot of options. The place is really neat very casual and modern. read more

Another great all you can eat sushi! I would certainly try this place again, hopefully they have added different sushi options by then.

First time here after the rebrand, food was okay, service was horrible. Took about 30min for someone to come take our order, when i asked for my chicken to please be cut small, got a "its already small enough", didn't have a chance to ask about other items on the menu, but the other tables were asked if they had questions about anything on the menu.... For some reason both servers were extremely nice and welcoming to everyone except our table. We sat in the middle of 2 booths, and servers checked on all tables except for ours. Won't be coming back, that's for sure. read more

They have recyclable bags whether delivery or carry out which is pretty cool! The angel roll was gooodd over all all the sushi I've tried has been good ! read more

I will start by saying the food is always so good, but the service isn't adding up. I ordered to-go and called seeing if it was ready about 15 minutes after the order was placed (a singular specialty roll order), and was told yes. I get there probably 20 minutes after that. Once I get there, I am told that it isn't ready and I had to sit on the side for exactly 23 minutes for my food. After getting it, I was only given a "sorry about that" after also being slightly ignored by the clearly understaffed front desk. The person in the front was very sweet, but I don't think I can do a togo order here again. The site also didn't give me an ETA, but it shouldn't have been about an hour! read more

Read previous reviews about bad service, I did not experience this. I am assuming that the customers saying this paid for the "all you can eat" option. They are short staffed, but our waiter was attentive. Too much food, so come hungry! I don't think I could handle the all you could eat option. I had food left over. read more

Amazing food! All you can eat is definitely worth the price! The sushi chefs can sometimes take a while on busy nights but it's worth it!

I have always loved the food at this location. It has changed names from blacow to magic sushi. Again no complaints about the food but the service has always been super slow. I was sitting at the bar for 10 minutes before anyone spoke to me. I have been coming to this location for a few years and the service has not improved. Luckily they still have good food. read more

Food was ok, not great. Service was very absent, paid more attention to the table next to us, no drink refills offered. Nothing worth coming back for. read more

The food was extremely mushy and had no favor at all even the noodles mushed in your mouth. The sauce they give you with your meal tasted like it was watery and had little to no flavor. The steak was extremely tuff and had no flavor at all read more

Zero stars! Food was mediocre and very slow to arrive. Service was terrible ... many decent restaurants struggle to survive - this place truly deserves to fail quickly read more

We spent roughly $70 here for the all you can eat sushi. I would say it's comparable to cheap grocery store sushi. The spicy tuna roll was literally just plain tuna rolled in a rice roll, it looked like cat food and tasted bad. The spicy girl roll tasted just like the california roll. Nothing unique and the atmosphere was odd as well, just super bright led lights and odd decor not a fan. The people were sooo nice and our server was very welcoming but other than that would not recommend. read more

Nice restaurant, the service is a little bit slow but that give us time to pause between orders and the server wasn't bothering us every 2 seconds like many restaurants, which was great for us. Sushi and presentation are great read more

The food quality was good and the service was efficient. They had some unique sushi rolls as well. Lots of screens for sports and I liked the vintage style booth seats and bar chairs. Very clean. One of the owners was really pleasant to talk with as well. This place is definitely worth more than a 2.8 rating! read more

Horrible sushi, do not recommend. Got california rolls and for some eeason it tasted like fish

Dining in experience was terrible. I was a faithful customer when the location was Blacow, since the change the service and quality has declined. Different food types Raw and cooked on the same plates. Unwelcoming servers. And the overall mood inside was unpleasant. read more
