My first and only visit to this salon was enough! The staff were incredibly rude. The technician working with me was very rough grabbing and pulling on my hand if I didn't move it into position fast enough. He injured my thumb by filing into the cuticle causing it to bleed, then proceeded to keep filing that same spot, even after I ask him to stop. My nails were chunky and uneven. Additionally, the salon was filthy. Initially, I attributed it to a busy weekend but after being there for a bit longer I realized it was just very unkept and unorganized. Well it only took my first and only visit to a nail shop to remind me why I don't get my nails done in Victoria. Magic nails is absolutely terrible and my experience was diabolical. I was charged more for an infill than an actual full set, and the nails aren't even done properly. I needed a fill for a wedding on Saturday and came in with one broken nail but all the rest were fine. I didn't want any changes to length or shape made so it was a pretty straightforward infill. The tip he added on sticks straight up and when I asked him to correct this he claimed it was because the UK (where I've been living) uses different tips. I just agreed, but that's not accurate. The UK uses the exact same tips, I've been many times but they create an apex where as this guy clearly didn't know how to or wasn't willing. He didn't apply any product to the tips of my nails so they're left extremely thin and will probably snap. He only applied product to where the gap was in between my nail bed and the acrylics. So hardly any product was used at all. The shaping is mediocre, the polish has air bubbles and my nails aren't even fully covered, and again, the nail he fixed literally sticks upwards and looks terrible. But as their menu say £45 for an infill with shellac, and I just needed them for the wedding in two days I was willing to look over all of that and let it be. I also got chrome which I know is an additional £10. However, when I went to check out they tried to charge me £65 FOR AN INFILL, which is crazy in itself. When I asked about the price they made up that "oh the length and shape adds an extra £10." I explained and provided video proof that I walked in with the exact same length and shape as I was leaving with and that it doesn't make any sense for me to be paying extra for something they didn't do and products that were NOT used on me. The lady at the front called who I'm assuming to be the owner or manager, and he instantly gave me cheek and attitude over the phone and when I said it didn't make sense and no extra product was used, and that I'm leaving the shop with the exact same shape and length nails I walked in with he said "well it doesn't have to make sense to you, you can either pay or we'll chop the nails off." So you're trying to tell me for a poorly done job and no changes made beside polish I was expected to pay over £70 (including a tip) for an infill??!!!! Went back after having a mediocre experience a while back. Boy, big mistake. Was wanting a relaxing pedi experience- paid for the best one and was SO disappointed. Had an older lady who I know is very experienced here. She frantically/halfway began the pedicure... She acted like she was in a contest to see how quickly she could be done. Had a manicure and pedicure this afternoon. I'd been here before, and typically, while not awesome was not horrible. Today was an exception. My toenails and fingernails are not close to straight...they point in all directions and none are even across the breadth of the nail. I warned the gal next to me to watch closely as I had not! This makes me rethink whether I will have another of these services ever! I could have done this awful job myself. They took the walk in and I didn't have to wait. the lady cut me 3x on my cuticles with the drill. The nails are too thick and the paint looks very thick. the sides - well the pictures speak of the quality of nail service. I received terrible customer service, a botched manicure, and mediocre pedicure. Within 24 hours the polish was bubbling and peeling off. When I spoke to the owner, 1 1/2 days after my service, he was rude and accused me of doing something to make the nail polish bubble and peel off. I did not receive an apology or a refund. The atmosphere here is great and everyone is pleasant. They will do their best to give you what you ask for and I greatly appreciate it. Not all techs are equally skilled, so you'll have to try each to see who is best in your style, but definitely worth a go. I got a peach full set in the style of a picture on Pinterest and my friend got a gold chrome full set. Edit: my friends index finger acrylic fell off an hour after getting them done... not great, but will update later. Update: They fixed her nail the next day for free. Update a week later: My friend's nails kept breaking and after looking at them I realized the nail tech put almost no acrylic on the nail. I went in high hopes that,this place would be clean and have professional manicurist. I went only twice and I got a nail fungus. Then when I went to speak to the nail tech that did my nails,she said" well I don't know how you care for your nails" then said" I only did your nails twice so it couldn't had been something she did" then she offered a new set... really why would you want to put nail over a nail with fungus? He took me to his station and did my nails in the color dip, which I love!! I have to admit I'm pretty spoiled by my previous technician in New Braunfels whom I'd been going to for years!!!
