This place is awesome. I went here after having an experience of my nightmare elsewhere. I didn't tell Jay anything but he welcomed us and took care of my girls right away. He gave them the haircut they need despite them being the fidgetiest kids ever!! I really appreciated he went all the way. Usually for kids haircuts, hair stylist cut and brush off. But he actually combed their hair, styled it and used hairspray!! I was thinking damn I wouldn't have wasted it on them I also got my hair done and it was amazing. My bf recently moved to the area so i opped for a near by, decent review salon on yelp for a last min appointment. Magic Iron met everything i was looking for and was able to fit me in for a cut and dye. I had been dying my hair with box dye for the past year, which resulted me in having very uneven colors. I completely gave up on my hair and decided to let my roots grow out, needless to say my hair was a mess of black, orange, bronze and blonde. I originally had just went in going for a wash and cut. I felt i might not be able to get an even dye job off my already pretty patchy hair, but Jay reassured me that it can be done. I showed him a few pictures of what style cut and color i would like and he understood and got right to it. Her explained that the whole procedure would take about 3 hours and cost $250, which i find reasonable if he can give me what im looking for. We started with bleaching my hair so everything would be more even and lighter for the new color to cover. After we rinsed, then moved on to applying the color. After the color was done we moved on to the cut. The whole process was swift and efficient, didn't feel like 3 hours. The salon was beautiful, very unique design and vibe. Kinda wish i took some selfies there before i left. Jay was very friendly and professional, he gave me my space when i needed and chatted when i decided to converse. I was very pleased with the result and have already gotten alot of compliments! I highly recommend everyone looking for a new hair stylist to come here and try Jay. read more

Nothing like being pampered. Jay takes his time and very detailed oriented. The place is new and fresh. Clean!!!!! I follow jay to the end of the earth!!! Highlights cuts everything. Jay can be good but the service is irregular. Maybe hes way too sensitive or emotional? On my Last visit, he was not only rude ignoring my questions but also gave a terrible haircut to my friend. I went there because of 5 stars rating @Yelp. My experience was horrible (In order to give a fair review I waited 2 weeks.) Every time I looked at mirror and thought about all the signs I saw and I should take them seriously. Sign 1: Only one man show: he left me to sit there for about 30 minutes with solution partially cover my hair (Serious! I never had anyone who leave me in the middle of process. No wonder my hair looks inconsistent.) Sign 2: No strand test, because every one has different hair, so this test helps to determine how long the solution need to sit in your hair. Sign 3: When I noticed that he applied solution only halfway through my hair which didn't cover my newly grown hair, I told him, but he said "I know. Don't worry." (Yes. now I got it. DON'T WORRY. I NEVER COME BACK AGAIN.) Sign 4: water was freezing cold every time he washed my hair and hair solutions all over the place, my face and my sleeves. Went to Jay for a keratin treatment combined with Japanese straightening a couple of weeks ago. I was recommended to him from a few people I knew so I really wanted to try him out since I've always longed for straight hair. He is AMAZING. Not only are his prices super affordable in comparison to other places (I did some research), he really knows his stuff. He charged me $250 for keratin and $150 for the Japanese since I primarily did Keratin because my hair has been dyed. He gave me his honest opinion about which treatment I should do in order to achieve my desired look. He was extremely professional and has a great personality. I love this salon. I had the Japanese Magic Straightening and Keratin Treatment done to my hair this past Saturday and it came out beautifully. It is now Tuesday evening and I washed my hair and it is still straight, silky and shiny. Jay is excellent and highly skilled, he is also very honest, takes his time with your hair and a great conversationalist. My hair went from a dry, damaged, curly, frizzy mess to straight, shiny healthy, smooth and manageable. The salon is clean, comfortable and has a nice atmosphere and the high quality services are reasonably priced. Today I went to Jay at Magic Iron for keratin hair straightening. I gave my jacket up for a nice robe which had an Asian flair - a nice touch! My hair was washed and I was informed that hair could not have any residue as the keratin treatment will not be effective. Jay proceeded to put a protective shield around my toweled shoulders and went to work spreading keratin on my strands. My hair was then blow-dried and then Jay went to work with his "magic iron". This is the most time-consuming part of the process. Jay carefully proceeded with each section and is clearly a pro. In the end it was a beautiful job! My curly hair is now smooth and manageable! Been here a couple times and it's always been a good decision. Not only does he cut your hair exactly as you want it to be cut (looking at the other hair salons that feel as if they need to explore their creative liberties when they have you in their chair) he also gives you advice and tells you what to expect after the haircut. I've been fighting to straighten my frizzy thin flyaway hair for years with the hair dryer followed by the flat iron .
