We went last night. I enjoyed the experience. Staff was nice, drinks were good. The ice sculptures were really cool. It is a tourist spot. I would recommend going for a few drinks.

Unique bar/attraction outside of the heart of Oslo city center. Not many places you can go and put on a Scandinavian ice coat, and drink in a bar that's literally all made of ice. Channel your inner Viking and take part in this fun novelty. Not overly expensive and fun activity in Oslo. Staff was great! It a new experience!

Really unique experience right in the heart of Oslo! We went to the Magic Ice Bar at a really odd time, mid afternoon on a weekday and had the place entirely to ourselves for about an hour which was amazing in itself! It eventually began to fill up and we welcomed the additional company. When you enter the storefront you're giving an amazingly warm cape with a hood as well as gloves. Entrance cost includes 1 drink per person at the bar, we went with the house drink which I believe was a wine? Whatever it was it was yummy. Drinks were even served out of ice glasses. The artwork around the bar was probably the most interesting feature as it apparently changes often. Plenty of room to sit down and enjoy your drinks, although overall the bar was really really small.

As we were staying in the hotel, we decided to pop down for a drink. Their cocktails are formulated around art and music with fanciful concoctions based on iconic Scandinavia art (The Scream), literature (peer gint) and more. The service is impeccable with a staff who is very knowledgeable about the intricacies of the menu and super in tune with patrons. This bar has a very cool way of crafting drinks as an ode to the relationship between Norway and the United States. It's a beautiful science of all of the senses. We had every specialty drink on the menu (except the one with the gold coin). Some places have a hard time executing on really great drinks, service, AND ambiance... this place does it all with excellence. The drinks are high quality, intentional, and amazing. The food (we had the sliders) also caught us off guard with how good it was. From our seats at the bar, George was an incredible bartender! We're so excited to see how the menu continues to transform with the seasons, offering new and exciting cocktails. We will absolutely be back and recommend Pier 42 to anyone we can!

Pretty pricey though! Smaller glass than at your regular place. There is one bar, and it is located when you come in. This is also were the cool game tables are (yes, they are working - except for one at least when we were there). The same girl was working both Saturday and Sunday when they opened at 15.00. Super friendly! This place is so cool. To get the most out of it you probably must be a gamer. But, because of the super satisfying selection of beer - I guess being a beer lover is enough. But, according to the earlier reviews - I guess anyone into retro will be satisfied! All the other reviews have already told you about the interior and decor. Not many has talked about the pinball machines though. All together there are 10 - The Addams family, Family Guy, White Water, Scared Stiff (out of order), Tales of the Arabian Nights, Medieval Madness, Indiana Jones, The Shadow, World Poker Tour and Batman. It is NOK10 per credit (even if you are two playing). You buy tokens in the bar.On Sunday they have this deal - you get free plays when you buy beer or drinks in the bar. Fewer tokens for soft drinks though. But, we were lucky, we even got some extra free plays when telling about our crazy tour around Oslo. I was surprised how few people were there on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. More games for us to play! It is definitely worth the trip if you're a pinhead or even wannabe pinhead and want to try out some different machines! Check out my list for more places with pinball machines. Unfortunately no AMEX and no wifi.

So there are bars and there are fun bars. Tilt definitely belongs to the second category. It is…read moresuch a hip place to be, with all sorts of people where you can play table shuffleboard and all kinds of electronic games. We had a 2,5 hour shuffleboard fun on a Monday night. At 18:00 when we arrived the place was half empty. By the time we were leaving it was packed of people and no shuffleboard tables were available. I think there were 6 tables all in all. So if you want to play, you need to be there early or you need to wait for someone to leave. The game is quite simple in its rules, but very hard to master. It is very hard to control the little round ball called puck. The puck slides very smoothly on the sandy table so you really need to master how much strength you need to use to send it to the other end without it falling off the table. The only negative side to the bar was the price of the beer. However it was a Christmas beer I chose and I guess beer generally in Oslo is expensive. I payed for mine 145nok so I would suggest you to check the price menu before you order. On the bar side there are tables for people to hangout and have a beer. You can sit on the couches that have as a table an electronic game. So while hanging out with your friends one can always play. I definitely suggest Tilt for at least a one time experience to everyone as shuffleboard is a lot of fun!
