A long-overdue review, but my friends and I visited the Magic Castle back in 2023 and had the chance to see El Ropo perform close-up magic. He was easily our favorite part of the entire visit! He has such a great way of engaging the room, and his act feels fun, polished, and appropriate for all ages. Highly recommend booking him for your next event. El Ropo is truly a one-of-a-kind performer and an absolute gentleman. My best friend and I were lucky enough to experience a private performance from him at the Magic Castle--and it's a night we'll never forget. Not only were we stunned and awed by his magic (which completely fooled us from just a few feet away!), but we were also deeply moved by the warmth, generosity, and joy he brings to his craft. He didn't have to perform just for the two of us, but he did--making us feel seen, welcomed, and thoroughly entertained. As a lifelong fan of magic, I've seen many performers, but El Ropo brought a level of skill, charm, and heart that genuinely set him apart. He left us with the biggest smiles on our faces and a lasting memory that we still talk about. He has a rare ability to connect--whether it's with a small group or a large audience--and I can't recommend him enough for any event, from intimate gatherings to big celebrations. El Ropo doesn't just perform magic--he creates magical moments. read more

If you're looking for a performer who will wow a crowd, stop scrolling and book El Ropo. I've seen a lot of magicians, but this rope magic was on another level. Knots appeared and disappeared right in front of us, ropes changed length instantly, and somehow everything reset itself like nothing ever happened. Even watching closely, I had no idea how he did it. Beyond the tricks, El Ropo is incredibly engaging--funny, confident, and great at pulling the audience in without making anyone uncomfortable. The pacing was perfect, and both kids and adults were completely hooked the entire time. This is the kind of performance people talk about after the event is over. If you want memorable, mind-blowing entertainment, El Ropo delivers 100%. Highly recommend! read more

We saw his performance at the Magic Castle! Absolutely loved it, super funny guy!! Great close up magic

Just booked El Ropo to perform strolling magic at my co-ed baby shower. Everyone who encountered him was completely charmed. His tricks are complex enough to entertain adults and accessible enough for the kids to enjoy as well. His humor/puns are silly and you can't help but laugh. He uses a mini speaker to amplify his voice and it gives him a surreal and unique presence. I would not hesitate booking him again for an event. Can't recommend enough! read more

I am a huge magic fan, and El Ropo is one of my favorite magicians (and comedians!) I've ever had the privilege of seeing perform. I first met him when he performed at a retirement party for my colleague, and I swear it created a core memory for me that night from how hard I laughed. I was so excited when I was able to watch him up close again at the Magic Castle not long after, and even sitting a foot away from him I was still amazed by his tricks and illusions (and of course, his jokes). Thank you El Ropo for all the joy, magic, and laughter you bring to all who are lucky enough to meet you :) read more

Magic El Ropo - El Ropo and me! - Magicians Near Me

We've been loyal El Ropo fans ever since we met him at the Magic Castle on Valentine's Day, 2014. We go to see him as often as possible. He is hilarious, spontaneous, and so skilled. Over the years, I've hired him for: 1. My girlfriend's (now wife's) birthday party. The neighbors called the police because we were yelling so loudly in amazement. 2. A private zoom show during lockdown. He blew our minds. 3. Most recently, we had him perform at our wedding. During cocktails, he walked around and did closeup. Later on, he set up at a table in a back room and people wandered in for private shows. The room was consistently packed. So much yelling. Such a fun addition to our celebration. People can't stop talking about him. El Ropo spent years as a standup before coming back to magic so he is actually funny and not just "magician funny." He handles crowds like a pro. He makes everyone feel like they're a part of the show and leaves you speechless. (unless you're like us - yelling so loud the police come...) Hire him for your next event - you'll be a hero. read more

El Ropo was the best! My group and I came down to the cellar of the Magic Castle, expecting a packed room. We arrived to an empty room, save for one El Ropo. He graciously asked us to sit down, and we felt like we were VIP. Eventually, other guests arrived, but our private show was already under way. My mind was blown from start to finish and I am STILL trying to unpack how he did all of his tricks. Highly recommend El Ropo for any of your entertaining needs. He truly is a stand-up comedian that happens to also know magic. read more
