Penrith is so small that there were takeout options very close so it was fine. Room and bathroom were nice if a bit impersonal; signage to tell you not to mess with the air con and to use the strings to open the curtains. Which I totally understand, they don't want to fix things , however the typed, laminated and then cello taped to the wall makes it loose it's charm a little. A welcome booklet with it detailed inside would of been much nicer. Breakfast options were a little limited but did the job. Staff were nice. All in all I feel there's a little too much hype because of a Gordon Ramsey connection.

All in all i would highly recommend this little gem of a place to any passers by, it's literally 2 minutes off of the M74, if you do decide to stop in you certainly wont regret it! This is now in my notes and I'll be nipping in for sure next time I'm passing! The fish and chips were big and hearty as was the chicken fillet my brother ordered. I noticed that a young lady near us seemed to have some piece of more gourmet fare. This was just the experience we were hoping to find: busy and unpretentious (although the wifi password was painted in handsome script above a doorway). If we didn't have to get back on the trail we'd probably come back another day.
