The ceiling is laden with overhanging knick knacks and the open fire adds to that homely feel. For victuals you can snack on some tasty homemade pork scratchings to sharing platters consisting of meats, cheeses and olives. We opted for one £22 platter with baked camebert that held grapes and bacon within its gooey centre and on the side were lashing of crusty bread. Several meats and lettuce leaves lay encircling the pot of cheesy goodness amongst other delightful cheeses. There was one server working the whole place and he was friendly and efficient. They had a great menu and everything people were ordering looked amazing - especially the sandwiches and mussels. I got a Caesar salad that was delicious but came with anchovies in it (I know that there are usually anchovies in the sauce but it was a surprise to see actual fish in it in addition to the grilled chicken). We stayed here just talking for hours and it was nice to have a place that allowed us to do that. Definitely explore the surrounding town if you do stop here to eat!
